The Infamous Spike Section

Hello people
A lot of player's struggling with the Infamous Spike section in the Janken Castle (including me).
I had to enable unlimited Life mode in order to figure it out and i wanna share it with you.

The trick is that the upper spikes don't kill you immediately,so you can bop your had into the top and hold left/right,depends where you need to go,just be careful while pressing down,you don't have to maneuver up and down in the tight spike section.

I hope this small guide will save a lot of rage,salt and nerves.

IIRC if you bop your head twice in the same position,you die,you need to press always abit forward or backwards after 1 headbop in the spikes above you

Update: the remake has an easy way on how to deal with the spikes in water, the spikes above are not hurting you at all, you just have to place yourself beneath the spikes and release the button, Alex won't die this makes it a piece of cake!

Also it's possible to avoid this section using flying staff, just use it before you drop into the water. This was the first game I've ever beaten back then on Sega Master System II

Ahh memories, I used to save up the invincibility powders for that section as I swear the top spikes killed u as well. But this game I tell ya I could never work out the order of the symbols on the moonlight stone @ the end, was about 6-7 didn't complete it until I found an old Master System in my teens & gave it another crack. If I remember right the symbols are read right to left.
Besides this game as challenging as it was someone should do a remake of the game 'The Ninja' that was a controller throwing game for sure.

Game is not that long,i guess that you have to start from beginning.
I would suggest you to play with the classical graphics,the new style has wonkie hurtboxes.
You will get there in no time

Thanks for the tip! I was stuck in this part, but then i left the game and the save's gone! When I enter the game it just gives me the option to start a new game. Does anyone know if it has possible to recover the old save?

I admit, I never knew this either, been at this game since 1986 at 6 years old. I've always used the cane instead. Thanks for posting this!

yes,either buy the flying cane from the previous level,and go on that ladder or go in the spike section and bop your head into the spiked and hold right and left.
the spikes don't kill you on the top of your head,only if you stay in 1 place and if you don't move left or right.
