The PS Malström

Introducing Malström, a Vortex class bulk coal transport side wheel paddle steamer. Built to haul large quantities of coal, the Vortex class paddle steamers were designed with capacity in mind. While drawing a deep draft when compared to other river going wheel boats, they make use of every cubic foot of displacement, allowing their bunkers to ship in excess of 15,000 units of coal.

The first completed Vortex, the PS Malström is the newest addition to the P&K Bulk Shipping Company's fleet, and was especially ordered and designed to P&K's needs of a no nonsense bulk carrier. Utilising the latest in 1870s technologies and ship building methods, she is an efficient ship capable of industry leading capacity for her displacement and draft.

* A high flow coal gantry capable of full 180 degree slew
* Bunkerage for over 15,000 units of coal
* Provision for secondary cargo and passengers
* 13 knot fully laden top speed
* Automatic heading hold

Head to the engine room or bridge.
If you're in the engine room, turn the key until it is on.
If you are in the bridge, press the engine systems button.
Wait until the boiler has reached its optimal temperature.(there is an indicator)
Once the boiler has reached its optimal temperature, you are ready to begin your voyage.
