The Battle of Rorke's drift is the most famous battle of the five month long Anglo-Zulu war, in which peace talks with the Zulu peoples had gone south, resulting in the epic defence of the old Missionary station and Hospital. Roughly 150 British soldiers of the 24th Welsh Regiment of Foot defended the Hospital for ten hours against 4000 Zulu Impi
