Introduction
The Music in Starbound is stored in ABC file format. If you're not familiar with ABC, it can be seen as a line of sheet music but read by programs. The default songs everyone has is written in this format, so adding more is easy! You may have seen videos like this one where players put on a show to popular music, this guide will both give you music of your own to play (both solo and with others) as well as the easiest method to install it!
Download
I have stopped updating songs for a while, however it was continued and expanded upon on the Chucklefish forums: http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?resources/mighty-music-songpack.1193/

All the steps for installation remain the same.

Installation
To extract the files to be used, you'll need a program like WinRar[download.cnet.com] to unzip the files. I recommend this over some others as its simple, free, and easy to use.

Once its installed, go to your downloads folder and right click the .rar file. Select "Extract Here" and a file will be created full of the songs.

Go into this newly created folder of songs, click the first song, scroll down to the bottom, and press shift and click to select all the songs. Right click and select cut (or copy, your preference).

If you have a general understanding of where the file location is and you can make you way to it, follow this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\New Folder\SteamApps\common\Starbound\assets\user
If you need step by step instructions, read on!

Starting off, getting to the Starbound files. Go to the Steam Library, scroll to Starbound, and right click to select "Properties"

Next, choose "Local Files" and "Browse Local Files"

Clicking this will show you the file location for your StarBound Game, now all that's needed is getting to the location to place your songs! Choose "Assets from the list of files.

Now scroll on down to your "user" file near the bottom, and go into that.

Here will be the "Songs" file, the magical location where everything needs to be placed into. Go into the folder, right click and paste all your files into here, filling your collection!

If I add this to my files can I play my custom music in another persons game if they don't have it? Will they hear it or can I not play it unless I host?

Link isn't broken, someone hacked into the forums. They have all forums shutdown until they get everything re-sorted and fixed.

Remeber when you were a mod on LegendaryCraft? Game's dead now, and it might've been a different no4u, but good times.
