I don't see any difference

Because I already expect a barrage of comments telling me "Chris, what the hell did you even change??", well stop and pay attention.

The knife model is taken from CSGO, which means not only is the model more detailed, but the textures included as well, so now you don't have to look at the old low-res version.

TL:DR - Knife is from CSGO, has higher quality textures

Agh, I just realized that this doesn't work with Extended Melee Skin Pack. The models for the other CSS weapon are also edited so that could be a problem when the Firearm Pack comes out. Bummer.

Think this could get an update with valve-derived animations? I know Hkrmnasia (guy who did the anim set you used for the refined SG552) recently did L4D2-styled knife anims

Not to critique your mod or anything, but do you think you could slow the attack swing animation a bit? I've done some testing myself, and it's actually a bit faster than the official animations.
