I pull my Offroad logging trucks with a Tuz Tatarin. These awesome Scout vehicles are very tough, will float through almost any terrain, and the awesomeness of the Tuz transfers to the logging truck. Further benefit, the AI will keep your logging truck upright through dicey situations where you would absolutely tip over if driving the logging truck yourself.
As mentioned below, one truck has a log crane and either low saddle or long log carrier, whichever it can fit. Instead of winching the long log dolly, hook it to the long log truck like normal, and use whichever truck is more capable to winch tow the log trailer.
This will allow you to use 2 trucks to deliver pretty much all log deliveries for a contract in a single trip.
In early game, a P16 is free and superb for long logs as well as high saddle mission trailers. Definitely the truck to winch the log trailer. The White Western Star has a very wide wheelbase, is extremely stable, and has full AWD and Diff lock, making it a capable saddle truck that is also available for free in early game.
