The devs tweeted out a while ago that the last unlink cosmetic glitch wouldn’t get you banned so i would imagine the same could be said for this one, although make sure to do this glitch soon because the devs patched out the old glitch so they might patch out this one.
If you chose to uncap your FPS you also will not get banned so there is no risk to this glitch
To quote the DBD Devs “Our stance has been only to ban for exploits which provide an in-game advantage, something that mixing cosmetics does not grant.”

First you have to cap your fps at 20 or 15. To do this right click the windows button in the bottom left and click on run and then type in the %appdata% and when that folder opens up back out of the Roaming folder back into User/AppData and then go into the Local Folder and then locate the DeadByDaylight folder and in there go into Saved and then Config and then WindowsNoEditor.

In that folder open up the GameUserSettings. Once in there find the text that says FrameRateLimit=0.000000 and just add a 2 in front of the zeros. This will cap your fps at 20. If you want to cap your FPS to something lower just change the zero to whatever you're capping it to (e.g 10 = FrameRateLimit=10.000000), This also works for uncapping FPS if you want to raise it to 120 or something.

Select the character and cosmetic you want to unlink

While you have the linked cosmetic equipped go into the shop

Select the piece you want to unlink, e.g - Head/Torso/Leg

Turn on 'Show All Items' in the filters tab

Using the arrows in the top right switch to another character

Quickly select a head ( don't equip ) and then swap back to your original character

Once you have switched back quickly select a head and if it unlinks it has worked and you can equip any head/torso/legs. If it doesn't work then just keep doing it, it usually takes a few minutes

Have you head of the reverse/mix two cosmetics glitch?
Yes i have but i don't think i will be making a guide for it as they take time and effort to make and since this one hasn't gotten that much traction i don't think that guide would either.

Do you HAVE to cap FPS to 20/15/10?
No you don't have to but it helps out A lot because it slows down the game giving you more time to do the glitch

It is working as of 5.0.0

Does this let you add things from the store that you have not unlocked? or put one head on another characters body?
No, this does not let you equip things you have not bought or put someone elses head on another character.

I can only do 1 cosmetic like torso or legs how can i do both?
Just do it for both of the parts you want unlinked.

Again, if this doesn't work try lowering your FPS and try again.

If you're struggling with the glitch, try to cap your FPS a bit lower, maybe 10 or even 5. The trick is to just keep trying because it will take a while, it usually take me just a few minutes as i've done it a few time but it might take some time for people who don't usually do it.
