Introduction
If you have tried to play a bit this game on PC like I did as a French/German/Spanish player, you may have noticed that the game crashes when modifying the Game Speed setting that was added in the update 2.02.

This can be annoying if you wanted to use this option to practice a bit, and can also annoy you if you wanted to watch some replays that were posted online using this feature, since they will also cause a crash on your side.
Fixing the issue
To keep the fix simple, you will just need one text editor like Notepad++[notepad-plus-plus.org] for example, as long as it it able to display unprintable characters without altering them (so not the default Windows Notepad).

To fix this issue:
  • Go in the folder of your game (the easiest way to do that is from the settings of your game on Steam, Manage -> Browse local files), then go in gameAsset/steam/gameAsset/tenp/text/ingame.
  • Open the mtx file of the language that you would like to fix in your text editor, so ingameFrench.mtx for French, ingameGerman.mtx for German and ingameSpanish.mtx for Spanish (You should be in this folder and those are the files that should interest you).

  • Search for the last comma (,) present in the file and replace it by a dot (.) WITHOUT ALTERING ANYTHING ELSE IN THE FILE. It should be the second comma in Spanish, the third comma in French and the fourth comma in German. You can do CTRL + F to search for a , in the text without asking for wrapping around, leading you to the last comma.

And presto, your game should be fixed in your language!
FAQ
Q: Why does this crash occurs, and why does it occurs in these three languages?
A: Unlike the other languages available for this game, the languages French, Spanish and German use a comma (,) instead of a dot (.) to write decimal numbers (e.g. 3.14 in English would be written as 3,14 in French). The line that should be displayed in-game while the game speed has been changed was edited for this, but for some reason it seems that the game incorrectly interprets the comma in said condition, making the game crashes on PC.

Q: Does this issue also occurs on consoles?
A: From what I've tried on an European Switch copy of Puyo Puyo Champions (Ver. 2.0.2.1), changing the speed of a game in one of the affected languages does not cause a crash, but the line of text displaying the current speed will not be displayed, though the area for it will be present, so it's not a big issue on said platform. I do not own a PlayStation or an Xbox to test the game there unfortunately, so I will not be able to check if the game works as intended there.
