Your top priority once you start the game is to find a generator. A variety of meta perks will help with this, such as Visionary and Déjà Vu. I would recommend using both of these perks to avoid wasting valuable time in the early game.

This part can be hard at first, but it gets easier with practice.

Pay attention to your surroundings. If you can see enormous pink clouds that constantly update you on exactly where the Clown is at all times, then there may be a Clown in your game.

Be careful as Clown may attempt to chase you and mildly inconvenience you with his bottles.

With enough skill and experience, you might be able to overcome his extremely well balanced and powerful ability by holding m1.

If you and your fellow survivors followed this guide, you have successfully powered the exit gates and are now set to escape.

"No one escapes death" would usually be a threat here, but fortunately for you, this perk requires that the killer actually manages to hit a survivor, so you should be fine.

If you're the first person to the exit gate, remember your previous training and hold m1.

Crack your knuckles and congratulate yourself on another job well done.

Make sure you spam "ez noob" in endgame chat because after all, you managed to beat one of the best killers in the game.

Remember that if you see anybody complain about Clown online, their opinion is invalid and they just need to get good.
