Calamity Ranger Class Guide - Progression/Gear Loadout

THIS IS MY OPINION!

This is my personal best setups for a smooth experience as a ranger. The categories will be:
Pre-Boss, Pre-EoW/BoC, Pre-Hive Mind/Perforator, Pre-Skeletron, Pre-Slime God, Pre-WoF, Pre-HM Boss, Pre-Mech (Each mech with specific gear), Pre-Plantera/Calamitas, Post-Plantera bosses (Astrum Aureus, Levi. etc.), Pre-Golem, Pre-Cultist, Pre-ML, Pre-Providence, Pre-Polterghast, Pre-DOG, Pre-Yharon (Pre-Darksun), Pre-Yharon (Post-Darksun), Pre-Supreme Calamitas, Endgame.

Armor
Gold/Platinum works fine, but if you want to have a slight damage boost I recommend Desert Prowler Armor. After Desert Scourge[calamitymod.fandom.com], use Victide.
Weapons
Most weapons will do the job, however the Boomstick, Minishark, Firestorm Cannon, and Seabow (Jester arrows) will make fights quick and easy.
Accesories
Rusty Medalion is useful, but not required. I recommend for Desert Scourge[calamitymod.fandom.com]
Pre-Evil Boss
Armor
Victide armor is the best choice for these bosses.
Weapons
Seabow with Jester Arrows are the best choice, however Firestorm Cannon and Fungicide are also good choices.
Accesories
Rusty Medalion is still very useful. Nothing else exclusive to the class is available at this point.
Pre-Calamity Evil Boss
Armor
Victide is great, however Crimson armor can be used too.
Weapons
Firestorm Cannon and Boomstick get the job done.
Accesories
RUSTY MEDALION! I CAN'T GET AWAY!!!! (Kinda useless now)
Pre-Skeletron
Armor
Aerospec armor is very helpful with its high mobility, however its set bonus is pretty dry apart from the stat boosts.
Weapons
Galeforce is very useful and is the best choice for the fight.
Accesories

Pre-Slime God
Armor
Aerospec remains the best choice for slime god.
Weapon

Accesories

Pre-WoF
Armor
Statigel is the best choice due to its mobility and high defense.



Aerospec is still a solid armor set but is not as good as statigel.



Necro Armor is a pretty decent option.
Weapon
The Archerfish is a solid weapon that melts the WoF.
Accesories
From now on I will be listing the optimal accessory loadout for each section
  • Frostspark Boots
  • Lightning Boots are pretty much the same thing.

  • Skyline Wings
  • Bundle of Balloons are also good, but SL wings are better.

  • Any dash accessory will do.


  • The frog leg helps with jumping.


  • Laudanum or stress pills are very valuable.
Pre-HM Boss
An Item that is in bold is the best choice for that stage of the game.
Armor
Frost armor is the best choice due to its high defense and damage. The set bonus is very powerful.



Titanium is still a solid armor set but is not as good because the set bonus has been nerfed.




Weapons
The Archerfish is still pretty decent against Cryogen.



Flarewing bow is the best option for this fight. (Use wooden arrows)
Accesories
  • Frostspark Boots
  • Lightning Boots are pretty much the same thing.

  • Frost Wings


  • Any dash accessory will do.


  • Ranger Emblem is very good.


  • Laudanum or stress pills are very valuable.

    --EXPERT--

  • Magic Quiver is useful with bows.

I think the Pixie/Harpy wings would be better than the skyline wings and they are not too hard to get :steamhappy:

Some changes could be made, there could be better weapon and accessory choices but overall its a 8/10 guide !
