Note: For those who don’t know where this is from this is a parody to a scene from a movie called Blade Runner. Just google “Tears in rain” and you’ll get it.

This is a deleted scene from Living in Obscurity. It was supposed to last around 20-30 seconds and then you’d see Medic’s boom mic get in the shot, and then the skit with the rain pipe breaking Engineer’s the tape recorder.

I was very proud by the whole area that I recreated. I spent a lot of time working it. On things like rain, neon TFII sign, had to reshot the motion capture takes for this twice because I was unhappy with the original results, and rebuilt this level twice because the first version of the area looked too cartoonish.

Ultimately had to cut it, and release the extended version you’re seeing right now.

The VO is not perfect here. Did roughly 3 or 4 takes, and rewrote the lines to sound better (originally it was “Spies on fire off balconies on 2fort” and “I’ve watched Bison beams glitter in the dark over Double Cross bridge”). But still I’m not very happy with my performance here.
It’s very difficult to do Pyro’s voice parodying Rutger Hauer. Making Pyro sound dramatic is pretty difficult in general.

Either way I hope you guys like this. This scene was a lot of fun to make.
