In this guide I made a selection of mods, so you don't have to rummage through the Nexus yourself in search of decent mods, and then check them for compatibility and stability.

   You can install all mods from this guide if you want to, they are fully compitable and don't replace each other. I tried to make installation process as clear as possible providing you with all necessary information.

   I've also added tags so you can quickly understand which manipulations are needed in order to install mod correctly.

   If you know how to download and install mods for Enderal and also know what load and overwrite order is then you can skip to "Installation Tags". If not then checkout "Getting Started".

      First You need to make an account on Nexus[www.nexusmods.com] in case you don't have one.
   
   
2. 
   
   
      Now we need utility tool to automatically install mods. You can install any mod manager you want but in this guide I will be using Mod Organizer 2[www.nexusmods.com].
   
      I recommend you to check out the video guide on how to install it and then continue from here in order to double-check that you installed everything correctly (+some additional Enderal-specific info).
   
   
3. 
                                       
   
      In order to download mod from Nexus open a mod page, scroll down a bit and find a FILES section. Always download files stored in the MAIN FILES subsection, you don't need miscellaneous or old files 99% of the time.
   
   
4. 
                                       
   
      In the FILES section always choose MOD MANAGER DOWNLOAD over MANUAL DOWNLOAD.
   
      Some mods can only be downloaded manually (Mod Organizer 2, for example). Sometimes you have to download all the files, sometimes only one, I will specify it for each mod separately.
   
   
5. 
                                       
   
      Instal and open Mod Manager 2, choose Enderal Special Edition (SKSE) as your game.
   
      You should launch your game from mod manager using Enderal Special Edition (SKSE) file not Enderal Special Edition Launcher in order to avoid errors (it should look like on the picture below). If you want to adjust graphic settings/etc just launch Enderal from Steam, do the changes, save and exit. After that launch Enderal Special Edition (SKSE) from mod manager.

      Your downloaded mods (if you used MOD MANAGER DOWNLOAD) will be stored in the Downloads section of the Mod Organizer. You simply right click mod you're just downloaded and press Install. The installation process is fully automated (sometimes you have to pick the preferable features).

      If mod is downloaded using MANUAL DOWNLOAD or it's downloaded not from Nexus (like some community patches, for example) then you have to use "Install new mod from an archive" feature in order to install them (files must be stored in the archive (.rar file)).

      After installing your mods will appear as list on the middle left or/and right (depends on the files which mod containts).
   
   
9. 
                                       
   
      Some mods require specific Overwrite priority in order work properly. For example if you've installed 2 mods showed on the picture above BUT you set the priorty for Dear Diary to, let's say, 22 then these mods won't work properly.
   
   
10. 
                                  
    
       Some mods have specific .esp files which you have to activate manually in the Plugins section. Nothing special, just press left mouse button in the blank square, if mod is activated then ✓ will appear.
    
       Some mods require specific Load priority in order to load before other mods and work properly. For example if you install 2 mods showed on the picture above BUT you set the priorty for Enderal SE - Gameplay Overhaul to 19 then EGO SE - Priests Cure Diseases mod won't work at all.

       Not setting right priority for both List and Load may cause bugs, glitches, blank textures or game crashes. In this guide I will specify required priority for each mod separately (always check mod description before going to Nexus page).
    
    
       Okay, now you know how to work with Mod Organizer 2. I highly recommend you to check out Installation Tags section before installing any mods in order to understand specific installation nuances for each mod.
    

   All mods in this guide have the same structure, let's have a look at the example:

1. Installation Tags are the quick way to understand what you have to do in order to correctly install mod, sometimes tags are used to give important information. Each tag tied from left to right to tag action from top to bottom. For example, the leftmost tag is always tied to the topmost tag action, the rightmost tag is always tied to the bottommost tag action.
   This mod has 3 tags:
   
   • The leftmost tag MOD tied to topmost action tag. When you see tag MOD you have to understand that this mod requires additional mod(s) installation in order to work.
     
   • The tag in the center tied to tag action in the center. When you see tag LOAD you have to understand that this mod requires you to set specific priority for that mod relative to other mods or in general
     
   • The rightmost tag tied to bottommost tag action. When you see tag OVERWRITE you have to understand that this mod requires you to set specific overwrite priority for that mod relative to other mods or in general.
2. Download link always leads to Nexus site where you can read more info about the mod and download it.
   
3. Mod description briefly explains what mod does and sometimes gives more specific information about some features.

TAGS DESCRIPTION:

1. LOAD - you have to set specific Load Order priority. Load Order list located in the Plugins. Higher the number - higher the priority. E.g. if Enderal SE - Gameplay Overhaul.esp has priority set to 10, then EGO SE - Priests Cure Diseases.esp should must priority set to 11.
   
   
2. OVERWRITE - you have to set specific Overwrite Order priority. Overvwrite Order is the list on the left. Higher the number - higher the priority. E.g. if Dear Diary mod has priority set to 10, than Dear_Diary_EnderalSE_patch must have priority set to 11.
   
   
3. MOD - you have to download and install additional mod or patch. Sometimes you have to download from Nexus, sometimes from google docs.
   
   
4. INFO - provides useful info for that specific mod.
   
   
5. FIX - optional mod/patch installation which let's you fix something for that specific mod or other mod.
   
   
6. VERSION - you have to download specific version of the mod. Usually it just clarifies which mod name you exactly need.
   
   
7. MANUAL - you can't simply download this mod from Nexus and install it via Mod Organizer 2. In order to install it you have to follow the instructions tied to that tag.
   
   
8. RESTRICTED - This mod should only be installed under certain conditions. For example, if you've installed Enderal SE - Gameplay Overhaul you may want to install Super Fast Get Up Animation.

   ⠀⠀⠀For those who wants to play on the highest difficulty but doesn't like that crabs have 10mil hp. Now you can kill enemies fast but so do they. It also reworks the AI so it will reacts better, attacks/blocks/uses special attacks more frequently, swaps weapons. Lots of balance changes were made. Also includes Crossbows and updates unique weapons models.

     2. Unzip and copy the following files into your Enderal SE folder: d3d11.dll, d3dcompiler_46e.dll (\steamapps\common\Enderal Special Edition by default)
        
     3. Download Simple ENB for Enderal SE[www.nexusmods.com]
        
     4. Copy all files into your Enderal SE folder (\steamapps\common\Enderal Special Edition by default)
        
     5. Launch Enderal SE, press Shift + Tab, make sure enbseries.ini -> GLOBAL -> UseEffect is toggled on (✓) - if no then left click on UseEffect.
   • BRIGHT WORLD MAP POSSIBLE FIXES:
     Installing this ENB will make the world map bright especially during day time (same for DEAR DIARY - PAPER UI REPLACER FOR ENDERAL mod). If you don't like how it looks you have 2 options:
     
     ⠀⠀⠀install map which looks not so bright (but it won't be paper-style anymore if you're using DEAR DIARY mod):
     1) Download map file[drive.google.com] from the official mod page[steamproxy.net]
     2) Put map file in \steamapps\common\Enderal Special Edition\Data\Textures\map directory. Create folders if needed.
     
     ⠀⠀⠀Set hotkey to toggle ENB off/on upon entering/exiting world map:
     1) Open enblocal.ini which located in \steamapps\common\Enderal Special Edition
     2) Find KeyUseEffect, change it to KeyUseEffect=77.
     3) Now If you press Shift + M you will switch ENB off and open your map, then press Shift + M again to close map and activate ENB.
     4) You can't get rid of the Shift, but you can remap it to any button you want using these codes[www.cambiaresearch.com]. For example, if you want to set it to N, change code KeyCombination=78. Now your combo is N + M.
     If you have programmable keyboard you can just bind M button to Shift+M macros.
