Prologue
Welcome to my Yakuza 6 Completionist Guide
Yakuza 6 marks the seventh installment in the franchise and potentially the final chapter of the Kiryu saga. Honestly, I felt a deep sense of sadness when I completed the game, considering the incredible journey I had embarked upon with Kiryu, spanning from Yakuza 0 all the way to this point. Hopefully, Ichiban can successfully carry Kiryu's legacy forward. I do wish we had more of Kiryu's adventures in the Dragon Engine, but the titles we have are satisfactory. Notably, Yakuza 6 is the most accessible game to complete among all the Yakuza titles. So, for those who have found other Yakuza games daunting, this one might be a great choice!

I'd like to give a big shoutout to Mr. Yakuza himself, CyricZ, from GameFAQs and Neoseeker for their assistance with a few aspects of this guide. Some things to note within this guide:
  • I won't delve into the details of the substories to avoid spoilers, and I won't cover the completion list in-depth since it's no longer necessary to complete all of them, and it's relatively straightforward.

  • You might need to complete the game twice to obtain all the achievements, once on any difficulty of your choosing, and another on the Legend difficulty. Why potentially? I will explain this in the final section of this guide.

  • I am not a native English speaker, so if I have made any mistakes or errors in my explanations, I sincerely apologize.

With that addressed, let's return to Kamurocho once again to witness Kiryu's relentless struggle to move forward with his life, while his past continues to pull him back.

Here we go again

Story Related
You will obtain all of these naturally as you progress through the main story, so you can essentially ignore this. However, there is one potentially missable achievement in Chapter 3, which is the Dandling Dragon achievement. You can start your first playthrough on any difficulty except Legend difficulty, as it is locked until you finish your initial playthrough.

Welcome Back
Visited Kamurocho for the first time.

Hiroshima Shadows
Cleared Chapter 2.

Dandling Dragon
Experienced the trials of raising a baby.
Potentially missable
In Chapter 3, early during your first night in Onomichi, you will participate in a minigame where you attempt to calm a baby as part of the story. The key is to pay attention to Haruto's body language to understand what he wants you to do, or you can simply wait until Kiryu provides instructions. It's important to note that this minigame is only available at this point in the game, making it potentially missable.

Completion List
The completion list is divided into five categories: Adventure, Battle, Substories, Minigames, and Clan Creator. Most of these tasks will be completed naturally, and you will receive notifications for some of them, as well as upon completing each one. Don't worry, as the completion list in Yakuza 6 is one of the easiest, alongside Yakuza Kiwami 2 in the franchise. I won't be listing the completion list here since it's no longer required to complete all of them, unlike in previous games. Additionally, the in-game completion list provides enough information for players to understand.

Just Getting Started
Completed 10 items on the Completion List.
Will happen naturally.

Maybe You Can Do It
Completed 31 items on the Completion List.
Will happen naturally.

You Did It
Completed 100 items on the Completion List.
Will most likely happen naturally, since the substories themselves encompasses half of them while the adventure and battle completion list is super easy to get.

Stats & Skills
If you've played Kiwami 2 before, you're likely familiar with how the stats and skills in this game work. Essentially, you earn experience from various activities such as fights, minigames, eating, drinking, substories, and completing the list. There are different types of experience for stats and skills, including:
  • Red – Strength
  • Blue – Agility
  • Yellow – Spirit
  • Green – Technique
  • Purple – Charm

Feeling the Heat
Activated Extreme Heat Mode 10 times.
Self explanatory.

Skill Dabbler
Obtained 10 skills.
Self explanatory.

Skill Pro
Obtained 25 skills.
Self explanatory.

Skill Master
Obtained all skills.
Simply acquire every skill. This might require some grinding. Prioritize obtaining the experience boost skills for all types, boost hunger gauge, and boost digestion in the other skills tab.

Life of the Dragon
Raised Health to a natural 150.
You can enhance your four base stats by investing increasing amounts of experience in each. Each increment adds two points to that stat. Keep doing this until you reach 150, and the achievement will be yours.

Strength of the Dragon
Raised Attack to a natural 150.
Same as the above.

Vitality of the Dragon
Raised Defense to a natural 150.
Same as the above.

Speed of the Dragon
Raised Evade to a natural 150.
Same as the above.

Heat of the Dragon
Raised the Heat Gauge to a natural 150.
Same as the above.

Limit Breaker
Raised all stats to a natural 200.
Increase all your stats to 200 to unlock the achievement.

Peak Kiryu
Raised all stats to a natural 300.
Initially, all your stats are capped at 200, but once you've maxed them all, the cap will increase to 300. Reaching 300 in all stats, along with acquiring all the skills, requires a significant amount of experience that goes beyond what the story and substories provide. This may require some grinding.

A Man's Experience
Obtained 1,000 total experience points.
Will happen naturally.

A Fighter's Experience
Obtained 10,000 total experience points.
Will happen naturally.

A Dragon's Experience
Obtained 100,000 total experience points.
This will likely happen naturally, but acquiring all the skills and raising stats to 300 might require a bit of grinding.

Grinding Experience
To acquire all the skills and raise every stat to 300, you'll need a substantial amount of experience—much more than what the main story and substories provide. So, you may want to consider grinding for it, especially for green experience. Here are some strategies I personally used to grind out this experience:

  • I highly recommend obtaining the 'boost exp gain for all types,' 'boost hunger gauge,' 'boost meal exp,' and 'boost digestion' skills as early as possible to speed the process.

  • Purchase and consume MUSCLE items (available at RIZAP) to gain red, blue, and green experience. Buy BURN items (also available at RIZAP), then visit Sushi Gin and order the same dishes I did (see the picture below). Once your stomach gauge is full, consume BURN to reset it, and then repurchase the food at Sushi Gin to gain all types of experience, with a focus on green (the hardest type to obtain). Repeat this process. Keep in mind that this method can be quite costly, so consider grinding for money first, either in Clan Creator or the fishing minigame.

  • Play through the game while wearing Yakuza Training Gear and either Wrist Training Gear or Ankle Training Gear. These combined gears provide a 40% bonus to experience gain. Additionally, defeat Saigo or Sodachi (after completing their substories) while wearing these gears to acquire a substantial amount of the experience you need.

  • There is a safe located on top of New Serena or the Sky Finance building that contains a Rainbow Bun (which provides 500 experience of every type) and 1 million yen. Use the following code to unlock it: KP56VFA9MX2B7LH.

Clan Creator
Clan Creator makes a return from Yakuza Kiwami 2 but with some differences. In Yakuza Kiwami 2, the clan creator was a tower defense game, while this one takes the reverse approach. You will encounter this minigame as part of the story in Chapter 5. There are three types of missions in this minigame: main missions, sub-missions, and online missions. It's worth noting that clan creator features the most time-consuming achievement in this game, and you'll need to grind quite a bit. Clan creator is also a great place to farm money, alongside the fishing minigame.

General Info
  • Clan Hierarchy
In clan creator, you'll have a group of leaders that need to be assigned to various positions within the organization. Kiryu, as the Chairman, remains at the top, but all other positions can be filled with any leader you choose. The number of positions you have changes as your organization grows. Leaders in higher positions are supported by the leaders placed below them, and they receive bonus stats from those lower-ranking leaders.

  • Strike Team
From your Hierarchy, you'll select six leaders to form your Strike Team. These leaders will be sent into battle whenever you undertake a mission. It's recommended to have leaders with different skills to complement each other, especially those with healing skills.

Kiryu Clan Founder
Assembled the Kiryu Clan.
Self explanatory.

Kiryu Clan Captain
Reached level 3 in the Kiryu Clan.
Completing the main missions will increase your clan's organization level, and you'll obtain this achievement when you reach level 3 for the organization. Level 3 becomes available after defeating two of the Six Lunatics.

Kiryu Clan Patriarch
Completed the Clan Creator storyline.
Simply complete all of the main missions in Clan Creator.

Word on the Streets
Raised the Kiryu Clan's influence to 10,000.
As your organization level increases, you'll have the opportunity to include more leaders in your structure. The more leaders you have in your organization and the higher their level, the greater your influence will be.

Kiryu Clan Enforcer
Maxed out a Kiryu Clan leader's stats.
To unlock this achievement, you need to raise one of your leaders to level 99. They gain experience from completing missions, but you can also train them by investing your own experience points (you can create a separate save file just for this achievement to avoid using your hard-earned experience, as it increases over time). Reaching level 99 can be a grind, but it aligns with the requirements for the '100 Victories' achievement.

On the Winning Team
Achieved 100 victories with the Kiryu Clan.
In summary, you need to win 100 missions. It's recommended to grind the Tanahashi Remnants sub-mission because it's at a high level while not being that difficult, allowing you to earn more experience and a significant amount of money compared to the others.

Substories & Trouble missions
Substories
There will be a total of 51 substories spread across Kamarucho and Onomichi. Many of these substories are sequential, meaning you have to complete the previous ones before the next becomes available. Additionally, some substories are linked to specific minigames. As mentioned earlier, I won't provide detailed explanations for all the substories but will instead indicate when and where you can access them.

Trouble missions
Trouble missions are introduced in Chapter 2. After that, you'll start receiving notifications on your phone about people in trouble in both Kamarucho and Onomichi. Where Everybody Knows Your Name
Reached Beloved Customer rank at Snack New Gaudi.
You will gain access to New Gaudi in Onomichi as part of a substory (Substory 40). There are a total of six people you can interact with, but only some of them will be available for conversation early on. Increase your friendship level with them by playing darts, singing karaoke, and having drinks together. There is a rank system in the shape of a pyramid, and you'll need to reach the second-highest rank to earn the achievement.

Info on the people that you can interact with in New Gaudi :
  • Mama and Hatakeyama are accessible from the beginning.
  • Gen will initiate a conversation after you use the karaoke machine once.
  • Akiyoshi will talk to you once you complete Hatakeyama's story.
  • Kaneko and Ando will ignore you until you complete Hatakeyama, Gen, and Akiyoshi.
Drinking will improve your friendship with all of them except for Mama. You can enhance your friendship with Mama by purchasing food or drinks from her, playing darts, and singing karaoke. It's recommended to acquire the 'Art of Conversation' skill to boost friendship faster.

Club Shine Star
Requested every hostess.
When you enter Club Shine in Kamarucho, you can choose which hostess you want to talk to. To earn this achievement, simply interact with all of them. There are five substories tied to each hostess. The cabaret club minigame in this game differs somewhat from previous iterations. this time, they introduce conversation topics. There are several types of conversation topics, including sexy, talk, love, dandy, and party. Continuously selecting the same type will amplify the impact of the conversation on the hostess's meter. When the conversation concludes, you'll receive love points (invisible points that advance their rank) based on how well it went.

The objective is to raise every hostess to their highest rank, which is the diamond rank. Once a hostess reaches this rank, her substory will unlock for you to complete. Here's a list of the hostess ranks and the required love points to achieve them:

Rank

It is highly recommended to acquire the 'Ladies Man' skill and wear a combination of gear that boosts hostess affection (such as RISINGWAVE Zero Black, Romance Amulet, Expensive Leather Belt, and Leather Bracelet) before visiting Club Shine to speed the process. If you want to complete all the hostess substories quickly, I suggest referring to this comprehensive guide for assistance: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/181153-yakuza-6-the-song-of-life/faqs/75786/saki

Minigames II
I'll Have the Calamari
Defeated the Emperor Squid.
You will gain access to the fishing minigame in Onomichi as part of a substory (substory 47). The fishing minigame in Yakuza 6 differs significantly from the previous games. You are provided with a speargun and tasked with shooting fish and treasure chests to earn points and money. Getting attacked by fish depletes your oxygen. The minigame ends either when your oxygen runs out or when you defeat the boss at the end. The first fishing course features the Emperor Squid as the boss. Defeat it to unlock the achievement.

If beating the Emperor Squid proves to be too challenging, I recommend purchasing Ahab's Revenge, the best speargun in the game (with a high spear count and high damage). You can buy it in Onomichi's Black Market (accessible after talking to the chef at La Pente and advancing clan creator) for 300,000 yen.

The Internet's Real Purpose
Chatted with both lovely Live Chat ladies.
After completing substory 22, you will gain access to the live chat minigame, available in Kamarucho. Purchase points to engage in chats with either of the two ladies. The achievement unlocks after you've chatted with both of them

That's Purrecious
Rescued three stray cats.
To start encountering stray cats in Kamarucho and Onomichi, visit the cat café on Senryo Avenue early in the story. These cats will appear when you hear them meowing and will be indicated by blue dots on your map. Approach a cat, and you'll have the option to feed it (cat food is available at the cat café and certain stores). Their friendship meter will increase based on the cat and food combination (it may take several tries if you don't have the right food). The achievement unlocks after you've befriended three of these cats.

How Fortuitous
Pulled "Great Blessing" at the temple.
The temple in Onomichi offers fortune-telling in the shrine. Choose one of the papers you receive and hope for the 'Great Blessing' fortune. It's essentially a guessing minigame, and if you don't get it right, you can always try again.

  • Live Chat
  • Cat Café
  • Batting Center

  • Clan Creator
Playing each of them once is enough to get the achievement.

Play Ball!
Won a baseball game.
After completing substory 34, you can access the baseball minigame and substories by taking a taxi to the baseball field in Onomichi (only available during the daytime). There isn't much to do in this minigame as it's somewhat of a simulation, but there are times when you can actually bat, although these opportunities are randomized. Players gain experience after each game regardless of the match's outcome, but you can also train them using tickets earned after winning a match. This achievement only requires you to win one match, but there are more substories to explore in this minigame. I suggest recruiting all the available players, as they are significantly better than the ones you start with.

Here are all of the players that can be recruited:

These are the achievements that didn’t quite fit the other section.

lure a group of enemies into a convenience store and break everything inside. After the fight ends, be sure to talk to the employee to receive the achievement.

Off the Beaten Path
Found a secret passage.
Pass through a narrow passage in either Kamarucho or Onomichi. One way to recognize these passages is when Kiryu walks through them sideways. Here are some examples:

The alley right next to Sushi Gin

The alley on the empty lot where you fight Nagumo for the first time

Not the Brightest Idea
Jumped from a dangerously high place.
This achievement requires you to fall from a high place. You can do this by going to the roof of the Batting Center in Kamarucho, which can be accessed by a ladder on the side of the building in front of Ikinari Steak.

Commemorative Photo
Took a photo of Ono Michio-kun.
Ono Michio is the famous mascot for Onomichi. He will appear in the town after you’ve completed substory 31. When you find him, interact with him and take a photo. He can appear both during the daytime and nighttime.

These are the possible location where he can appear:
  • Near Snack Kiyomi
  • Ropeway Station
  • At the west end of Shopping Street
  • In a roof in front of New Gaudi
  • At the Ferry Platform

Can of Whoop Ass
Engaged enemies while a drink's effect is active.
Vending machines have returned from Yakuza Kiwami 2, and they are scattered all over Kamarucho and Onomichi (marked as green boxes on your map). The drinks in these vending machines provide temporary bonuses such as experience, defense, money, etc. Get into a fight while you have one of these bonuses active.

Life Through Kiryu's Eyes
Walked 30 seconds in first-person mode.
There is a first-person mode that can be activated, just like in previous games. However, unlike those games, you can actually move around in first-person mode. Simply walk around in first-person mode for 30 seconds.

No Photos!
Got surrounded by enemies while trying to take a picture.
You can use your phone's camera to take photos. Just activate your phone's camera and move towards a group of enemies to unlock this achievement.

Epilogue
Dragon of Legend
Completed the game on LEGEND difficulty.
This achievement requires you to complete the game on the legend difficulty, which is the highest level of difficulty. Legend difficulty is only available after finishing your very first playthrough. There are two ways to do this: the long way, which involves completing the game normally, and the easy way, which is to create a separate save in the final chapter of your first playthrough. Once you've completed the game and unlocked the legend difficulty, load the save from your first playthrough, change the difficulty to legend in the settings, and finish the final chapter to earn the achievement.

The Song of Life
Obtained all other achievements.
Simply get every achievement in the game.

So this is what happened to Genji after he graduated from Suzuran huh

PS. This might be my new favorite game in the franchise. A lot of people seem to think that the ending is bad but i disagree, the ending is one of the best in the franchise because it fits the theme, the message that the game tries to tell, and also the title of the game.

Buy and support the game if you haven't!

@⋠Ĝ๏ą✞⋡'ƦэŁĨq. Sorry that it took me a while to answer, but yes, there are several substories that I intentionally left out, such as 35-39, as they take place outside of the map (baseball field). But I guess it just makes it more confusing to read, so I might expand the substories section a bit further if I have the time."

@Hans the "establish the Kiryu Clan" one, however i managed to make it work, you have to mess with the hierarchy screen a little bit.
