Dean Hall Mining Company Light Railway

UPDATED 31/03/2021 (new loco and scenery)

A railway built to shuttle mined ore out of the ground. There's not much left of it anymore but as the mine is now being made redundant, a preservationist society has moved in to save what's left. The tunnels have been closed off but the remaining track loop and shed is all still working. Three locomotives have been restored, including a steam locomotive, for operation and several wagons too.


OPERATION:
The track is a test version. The loop runs anti-clockwise. Running clockwise will mean you can access the junctions in the track. Not all junctions work. Non-working junctions are blocked with a spare sleeper (or rail tie, as I've heard them be called) Derailments are possible, especially if running at high speeds or braking hard with a long train.
Only one locomotive has a 'brake' which will stop the loco immediately. If you activate it at speed you may derail the train you're pulling.

It's a very basic system but it works alright for what it is. The mine entrances are the wrong colour to the rest of the rock but it's fine. This test has opened many new possibilities to what I can build, so trams and narrow gauge railways are coming soon. I'll probably frequently update this too over time. The mod lags a little (for me anyway) but its like space gravity so it isn't too bad.
