SS Canada - 1902 Ocean Liner

Description
SS Canada - Ocean Liner - 1902 Version

(HMHS Canada also available: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2440181907&searchtext=)

*IMPORTANT POINTS*

-Spawns at the normal vehicle workbench

-To use this ship, please DO NOT use infinite electricity, or infinite fuel.

-The ship is detailed and has a lot of objects, if you don't have a good computer, you will have lag/crashes! Sorry!

-SS Canada comes with usable lifeboats, autopilot, and two different Mayday Modes that can be activated in the wheelhouse- a Fire (boiler explosion), and traditional head first Sinking.

*Instructions*

The SS Canada is fast, easy to handle, and straightforward to use! Spawn at one of the docks, head down to the boiler/engine room, and press one of the “Light Boiler” buttons.

Then, you can either control the ship from the wheelhouse or the engine room.

*Description and (Fictional) History*

This is the SS Canada! A steam-driven ocean liner built at Clydebank Scotland in 1899 for the Canadian North Atlantic Line for regular voyages between Southampton, Le Havre, and Montreal.

She is inspired by many ships of the early 20th century, primarily CGT's La Bretagne (1890-1912), and Cunard's RMS Caronia (1904-1932).

SS Canada features 3 First Class Staterooms, 2 First Class Cabins, and 4 Second Class Cabins, as well as a lounge, restaurant, Grand Staircase, First Class Promenade, Purser's Desk, and Infirmary. She also has a Wireless Room, Wheelhouse, Weather Tower, Crow's Nest, Engine Room, Crew Quarters, and a lot of open deck space to explore!

Four fully usable lifeboats are available for your use. This compliments a Sinking Mode and a separate Fire Mode (boiler explosion button and sinking buttons are in the wheelhouse!)

Canada is powered by a double-ended boiler, which powers two steam turbines driving two screws for a regular service speed of 22 knots.

In the First World War, the SS Canada was acquired by the British and Canadian Admiralties for use and conversion as a Hospital Ship, sailing as HMHS Canada, before returning to regular passenger service in 1919.

By 1929, despite a top-to-tail renovation 9 years before, the Great Depression meant SS Canada was running at a permanent loss- her dedicated First Class design didn't fit the modernising and cash-short world, and larger ships with Tourist and Steerage classes appealed to passengers more and more as the economic climate progressed, the Canadian North Atlantic Line prioritised only their larger and mixed-use passenger liners carrying the RMS title, and by the 1930s planned to use the name 'Canada' for a much larger three funnelled quadruple-screw steamer.

Her fate was sealed. In a particularly bad crossing in the Winter of 1933, SS Canada collided with a cable laying ship near Nova Scotia, and despite minor damage, this was as good an excuse as any to lay her up indefinitely- using engine parts for repairing other ships, and selling off her oak and mahogany interiors at auction. She suffered a fire in drydock later that year- an irony for a ship that had spent her life navigating ice and water, and was scrapped where she lay, with no formal farewell.

*Credits*

-I had the full permission and help of Potater_King to use his TS Lakewood as a template, and upload this derivative! She is heavily modified, but SS Canada wouldn't of been possible without the original TS Lakewood, one of my favourite ships to use in-game!

(You can find TS Lakewood it at: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2388025890&searchtext=lakewood)

Love this ship but, it will break the game if hit by a large explosive (like a Artillery cannon) so leave Vehicle cleanup on.
