I am bad at the game.
You may be incredibly skilled player who can just kill everything with a precision bolt alone, but this guide is for those, who want to have at least something to work with. I would appreciate critique and suggestions to changing something in my guide.

Edit: I've decided to update it since I went and checked more strategies. (Yes it's not Ultra Nightmare mode on the screenshots, it's just easier for me to get some images like this)
Runes
First build consists of those 3 runes, which are:
1. You have control over your character, while suspended in the air (It's just a good mod but we'll need that in some specific tricks)
2. Blood Punch now restores some health when activated (We'll need a blood punch for some fights and it's a good panic button on itself)
3. Now your gadgets regenerate faster when hit enemies

All those mods are somewhat changeable, especially second, but I personally prefer it.

Second build is more safe and consists of the same runes except we change Blood Punch on Saving Throw

If Saving Throw doesn't work, go to any level in the campaign and die, it should reset it. You don't need to do it every time, one time will do if you're trying only this level.
The beginning
I'll talk about advises that you can take in each part of the level, since I already memorized every one of them.

At the beginning after you go methodically kill flying heads you should prepare for the next move. To do that you should hook to the Revenant and shoot Frost at them (if not all, focus Fater Demons), Flame Belch them and farm armor.

Behind the crack in the wall you'll face a Tyrant so wait for your Frost to recharge.

What you want to do is lure him to you, rather then going to him, just back off while shooting rockets and lazers at him.

And only then push forward, two spiders will appear. It's much easier to fight Tryant and Arachnatrons separately, much less dangerous.

After that you want to get your ballista and switch the mode to stickies, they are a good weapon against Cacodemons. Then there will be a standard-ish fight with two Barons, two Hell Knights and a Dread Knight.

A lot of Revenants (8) will start appearing, what you want to do is lure 2-3 of them to the entrance and prepare your Destroyer Blade. Don't forget to move back if you feel that you're getting overthrown, there are no enemies behind you.

Repeat until they're done.

Then gates to the next arena will open, go in while charging the sticky on your ballista, first armored Mancubus will appear, then a Dread Knight will jump out. Deal with him with rockets first and then finish the Mancubus.

Now I want to give you a choice, there is an easy speedrunner strategy that allows you to completely skip this first fight, but I recommend you to go through it anyway.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
To do this strategy you need to freeze the Tyrant and hook to him, move yourself past the right corner.

Instantly prepare your Crucible and dash once to the crack

Hit it and instantly dash through it. Now you are in the next area, just go to the next checkpoint and stand on it, it should activate the totem

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Mosh-pit
When you enter the corridor that leads to a pit, jump into it and go around the pillar, a totem will spawn, kill it and then get out of it.

Don't go in there, wait for the weak zombies to get up to farm ammo. Spam Ballista Blade at the Carcasses and rockets at the Hell Knights, the usual.

That's pretty much the whole fight. Well done, one more for the road.
Mosh-pit 2.0

This is where the fun begins.

When you drop down, farm as much armor as possible, even if you have a lot already, just try to make as much as you can. And beware of invisible whiplashes that spawn after 5-10 seconds of this fight. Deal with them by shooting rockets, splash damage will make up for the lack of visibility.

As soon as you kill them the marauder will spawn, keep your position on the sides of the arena because middle will be crowded a lot of enemies that you can freeze and kill while fighting to get health and armor.

That should be it for Mosh-pit 2.0
Big arena
It's not really difficult, just takes a long time to go through. Just remember to always shoot.

Just run around the arena while using jump pads. When 6 Cacodemons will spawn after you kill 2 pain elements shoot them with your Ballista stickies and for the rest of the fight you'll be golden.

After you're done I suggest you to pick up the core for your bfg, if you don't have it on 60 ammo already.
The F*ck you room
When you'll finish with the big level comes one the hardest and the easiest part of the run.

Get your sword out (3 charges should be in it), change to the frost grenade and approach the downfall until it's closed.

Run to the entrance where you just was and kill Tyrant with a sword as soon as he spawns, then dash to the other side and slash the other one, now shoot a frozen ball at the Doom Hunter and Blood Punch him two times, then finish him and the rest.

Good job, you're making progress.
Hordes
The most fun of all the run. Feel free to change your Ballista Blade and shoot a few waves of zombies, then a bit more aggressive horde will appear twice from the same side, do the same thing and now go to the main hall and shoot at the Gargoyles until you can hit the Totem and finish them all.
Marauder fight
This room will greet you with a marauder running at you, answer with a shotgun ballista combo but don't run past him, back away and he'll jump to the left, throw his axe and you'll be able to attack him the second time.

Right about now two Arachnotrons will spawn, the roulette has started
1. Marauder tries to hit you and you kill him instantly
2. Marauder blocks the hits of Arachnotrones and summons a wolf (Grapple on the Spiders and try to damage them as much as you can, farm armor and health)

Usually it goes well, but I had a few deaths there.
Toxic room
Switch to stickies on Ballista before entering

This is one of the most anxiety inducing fights in the run.
It starts with two stickies to the Cacodemons, then a hook shot to the Doom Hunter, Frost grenade, two Blood Punches shot with Ballista, glory kill.

Then run through the hall to the next arena, this will allow all demons to spawn.
BFG time

Shoot it though the hall as it'll allow you to get as much damage to everyone, it should kill everyone, if a few Pinckies are left, finish them.
Toxic Tyrants fight
This part is actually not that bad.

When you enter the arena, throw a Frost grenade on the Tyrant and go behind him. just spam everything and you'll kill him fairly quickly.

Killing second one is a bit more of a problem.
The thing that should help is that as long as you are in the air, Tyrants are less likely to hit you. So hold onto those monkey bars and farm ammo on Cyber Zombies. Focus on one Tyrant at a time and you'll be good.

After the fight get the Crucible charge, we'll need that.
Mosh-pit 3.0
The easiest part of the level, when you met the Pain element, know that just below this platform that you are standing on is a spawn point for the enemies and you can just drop your legs into it and double jump back to spawn them.

This will spawn everyone and nobody will be able to hurt you.

Sometimes a few Carcasses will get stubborn and won't get up, you'll have to get them as it's intended.

Go down in the toxic and pick up this BFG shot, we'll need it.
Mancubus fight
This fight is pretty standard by the means of this level, but I strongly advice you to hold onto your freeze grenade and shoot it at the Totem powered Mancubus when he walks in the room.

Go to the room he came from and kill this Totem.

Another fight is over. Next up is a really tough one.
Before going in the portal, charge your ballista blade, this will help you.
City fight
Wait for two Arachnatrons to spawn and shoot at them wit the charged blade

then kill them and shoot a few lock ons onto the pain elemental.

Go to the cave and try to defend it, get ammo and health when needed.

Then go to the several Skeletons on the roof and freeze + burn them for health and armor refresh. Shoot a freeze grenade at the Archvile kill him wit two lock on bursts or shoot a bfg.

Now two more Skeletons will appear in the building.
I usually try to get as many weak points as I can before going in and then freeze bomb them both
Be aware of tentacles as they are right next to the entrance.

Then there will be a Baron, but it'll be a breeze compared to what you did.

You can get a bit of hp from the medbag that will be laying near the entrance to the next segment. And in the distance you'll see a sentinel armor.
Tentacles
You'll enter a room full of tentacles, replenish your ammo on them, kill them as you'll approach the wall that you can break.
Be aware of the totem buffed Mancubus, he takes really big bites, so be ready with your freeze grenade.
Hiding under the roof
As you'll go into it

Go by the left side of the arena, kill the ┼ totem and move under the ceiling with the armor in it.

Shoot rockets at everything and defend with a shielded Chaingun, it'll be okay. Next totem will appear on you, break it and don't forget to grab the radiation defense if you're running low on it.

This should work, good job, now onto the hardest parts.
Cheesy Whiplash fight
This is one of the easiest rooms in the whole run.
You should just get onto the closed entrance, there will be a ledge that you can step on.

(This will be closed and you can still stand on the edge. I'm just an idiot and forgot to record this segment, sorry)
Now just shoot everything, rarely dropping down to get some ammo. You can easily jump up to the edge of the wall.
Brawl Arena
This is another relax room where you can express all your anger. Just go with the flow. it's easy.
Two Marauders on toxic
This is THE MOST dangerous and difficult part for me.
I don't really have a strategy, but I can advice you to one cycle the marauders, you can do that on the first one.

To do it you have to get your Balista stickies, two grenades and a rocket launcher with Lock on ready.
Charge your Balista and shoot at the marauder, he'll become stunned. Shoot lock on burst and throw grenades at his side (Not in front, just on the side and maybe slightly behind him) while continuing to spam Lock on. I still can't get the hang of it, though even if failed, it deals a lot of damage to the Marauder.

Even if you get a bit handy with it, be careful because... well it's two marauders on toxic

May everything you believe in help you. Because there isn't much I can do.
Bridge fight
Just a Tyrant on a bridge, nothing fancy.

Though after that I recommend going to the last Crucible charge that is over the Mosh-pit 2.0, now you should have three.
Arch-vile fight
As you'll enter the arena you'll be met with a few Revenants, kill them while going to the right side of the arena. When you'll kill the last of them, a totem will appear, kill it and get ready to shoot bfg.

Aim at the sky when Tyrants will spawn, this will make sure everyone dies (Tyrants take 4 bfg areals But even without all 4 it's not that hard of a fight)
There are the places of bfg ammo on this arena

As soon as you see Arch-viles, go and slash them with your big sword, you deserve it. The rest of the fight isn't that difficult.
The Run
This is the final, and the most stuck and stun locks inducing encounters.

First you'll meet a bunch of buffed demons, kill them

Then a Mancubus will jump from below, just dash by

A horde of zombies should be dealt with a shotgun and a grenade

Then carefully go on the platform to the left, wait for the Tyrant to notice you and move, get your shield out and go though, Marauder will appear, dash for your life, still holding the shield

Freeze the Doom Hunter and get up the ladder on the right

Water chill segment

Then teleport with your shield out, flamethrower + grenade to kill all the zombies and jump over two Marauders that will charge at you.

Take right on the next turn.

DONE.
Congratulations
You did a good job buddy, go get something you like, you deserved it.

Some strats were taken by Cynic The Original big shoutout to him for making a really good video about this level and inspiring me to write this (I'm not sure if you can put the links of videos that are not yours)

Just write in YouTube "How to easily beat super gore master level on Ultra Nightmare" and you'll find it.
To prove it I completed Ultra-Nightmare run again, so I'm pretty confident in what I wrote.

Hope this was helpful to someone. Goodbye!

Dear reader, if you were bullied in a kindergarden doesn't mean you should spread your "correct" ways of playing a game, crucible is a part of the game that can be used, don't like it? Don't use it.
Phyrexia Enthusiast 31 Mar, 2023 @ 1:17pm
crucible, lmao teaching people to literally use the crutches that will prevent them from actually getting good. smh. get your head out of your ass.

ShadowToxicate, yes, everything that you have in the campaign will be transferred to the challenges.

Great guide good breakdowns. How do I start with 3 crucibles though? Do I have to go back to the main campaign and finish a level with 3 saved up?

This guide is so helpful but the real problem is Classic Mode, that shit is so much tougher than UN.
