Movement affected by weapons
By george droyd
As most of us know, movement is as important as aiming, positioning, economy management and any other altering factors in CS:GO matches. It is basically the most important and easiest to understand and improve mechanic involved in the game.

Introduction
Most of us are focused on improving our aim, nading spots on different maps, economy and other skills, neglecting the importance of movement. So here is a little guide on the basics of movement and the factors around it.
Basic types of movement
The basic movements of the game are Running, Walking and Jumping.

  • Running
Running is basically the most common game movement. As everyone knows you do that by using the movement buttons (default W, A, S, D) to move forward, backward and sideways. This type of movement negatively impacts accuracy.

  • Walking
Walking can be done by holding or toggling it from the specific button (default LShift). It slows you down, but increases your accuracy (compared to Running) and cancels your footstep noise. You can do the same thing by crouch walking, which also minimizes your character's hitbox.

  • Jumping
Jumping can be done by pressing the specific button (default Space) and it basically propells your character into the air. This helps you reach elevated spots, but also decreases your accuracy. As in Walking, you can also make use of crouch, this time to reduce your hitbox and reach a slightly higher jump peak.

Note: Repeatedly crouching reduces the speed of subsequent crouches. Repeatedly jumping reduces the speed of subsequent jumps.
Weapons
Weapons have an impact on players movement speed, also known as velocity. You can check that by using the command "cl_showpos 1" in the console.
