DISC GOLF LAKE - The basics
By Sidesia
INTRODUCTORY STATEMENT
Disc Golf is a sport, similar to regular golf, where you try to get your disc to the objective (usually a basket) in as few tries as possible. I love to play disc golf; both in real life and in Rec Room. This guide will show you how to play Disc Golf Lake on Rec Room!

BEFORE THE GAME
A max of 4 players can play disc golf in any given lobby. What "team" you're on determines your colour of disc. (Do note that there are no "teams" in this game - "team" is just the technical term for what color of disc you play.) If you choose to change your colour disc, click the "SWITCH TEAM" button on the scoreboard to change your team, and ultimately your disc colour. Once you're ready, hit the "PLAY" button under the scoreboard to start playing.
GAMEPLAY
The game plays in a series of levels, called "holes". There are 9 holes on the map. (As of June 2023, there are two maps: Lake and Propulsion. This guide discusses Lake.) Each hole has what is called "par". Par is the average amount of throws it takes to score, and is used as the baseline for scoring in the game. The goal is to get your disc in the basket in the amount of throws that is under or at par.
SCORING
Remember that this is golf, so the lowest score wins. As I said earlier, each hole has a par, and par can be as little as 2 or as big as 5. Your score gets lower (better) by getting under par and your score gets higher (worse) if you go above par. The list of scoring is as follows:
Hole in One: Score a basket in one stroke. Subtract the par count for the hole by 1, and then subtract that number from your score. (For example: if you score a hole in one on a par 3, subtract 2 points from your score.)
Albatross: Score in 3 strokes under par. 3 points get subtracted from your score.
Eagle: Score in 2 strokes under par. 2 points get subtracted from you score.
Birdie: Score in 1 stroke under par. 1 point gets subtracted from your score.
Par. Score in the amount of throws as par. Your score does not change.
Bogey: Score in 1 stroke above par. 1 point gets added to your score.
Double Bogey: Score in 2 strokes above par. 2 points get added to your score.
Triple Bogey: Score in 3 strokes above par. 3 points get added to your score.
Mercy Rule: If you are unable to score in 9 strokes, you forfeit that hole and move on to the next. You add 7 strokes to a par 2, all the way to add 4 on a par 5.

Once you finish the 9 holes, your scores from all the holes get added up. The person who has the least score wins!
Or, if you want to, play by yourself and try to get a high score (or a low score in this case!)
