Douglas DC-3 Finnair 1967 1:1

Ursprünglich geschrieben von Wikipedia:
The Douglas DC-3 is a propeller-driven airliner which had a lasting effect on the airline industry in the 1930s/1940s and World War II. It was developed as a larger, improved 14-bed sleeper version of the Douglas DC-2. It is a low-wing metal monoplane with conventional landing gear, powered by two radial piston engines.

OH-LCH

OH-LCH was built in Santa Monica, California, and completed on Christmas Eve 1942. Originally OH-LCH was ordered for Pan American Airways, but because of WWII the plane was given to the US Armed Forces. Later after the war the plane was bought by the Finnish state's airline, Aero, later Finnair, and it operated between 1948 and 1970. OH-LCH flew its last passenger flight for Finnair in 1967. After the service for Finnair, it was sold for the Finnish Air force, and in 1985 it was decided to retire all DC-3's from the Air force, and OH-LCH, along with OH-LCD were sold to Airveteran OY. OH-LCH is still flying for heritage flights for Airveteran, and OH-LCD is a museum piece at the Finnish Aviation Museum. OH-LCH is also the last airworthy DC-3 in Finland.

Description

This is my 1:1 scale Stormworks rendition of the Douglas DC-3 in 1967 Finnair livery. It has been redesigned from my Douglas C-47 Skytrain and thus shares many similarities with it. It's exterior and livery are as close as I could get them to the real life counterpart, but it should be noted that the interior and the cockpit, although similar to the real aircraft, are not authentic. In the big picture, I'm very happy with how this remodel turned out.

I sincerely hope you enjoy playing with this aircraft as much as I enjoyed building it.

Specifications
  • Crew: 3 (Pilot, co-pilot, radio operator)
  • Capacity: 14 passengers
  • Maximum speed: 131 knots
  • Range: about 180km at top speed
  • Total fuel tank capacity: 7120L
  • Powerplant: 2 medium engines

Notable Features

  • Active stabilization system
  • Rear passenger door
  • Small side door
  • Toe brakes
  • Fuel mixture control lever
  • Radio station
  • Flaps
  • Interior lights and heating
  • Realistic exterior lights

    Startup Procedure

    1. Enter the cockpit, either through the rear doors or the front door located on the left side of the fuselage (next to the left engine.)

    2. Flip the master battery switch.

    3. Toggle the cockpit backlights and cockpit lights if needed.

    4. Toggle both boost pumps and move the mixture lever to at least 0.25.

    5. Move the engine power lever to at least 0.15.

    6. Toggle the propeller feathering control buttons: they lower propeller collective to ensure that the aircraft won't start moving.

    7. Toggle both ignition switches and leave them on. After that, toggle the starter switches. Disengage the starter switches once the engines are running.

    8. Toggle the recognition lights and the tail light. If needed, toggle the runway lights and landing lights.

    9. Disengage the parking brake and prop feathering control buttons and throttle up.

    Final note

If you find bugs or have any questions about the aircraft, feel free to DM me on Discord (ArcticShark#9752)

Please respect the time and effort I put into this vehicle by not reuploading it. This also goes about custom/modified versions.
