What is the trick to accessing the lock on the bridge in Chapter 1, so I can turn the sybols to match so I can go to the other side

Adding on to someone previous, I'm also just here because I'm stumped, not because I want a walkthrough. I'm happy they're on separate pages so I can choose where I stop and not just have a cheat sheet when I only need one hint.

Anyone who is actually stuck and not just using the guide to zip through the game without effort is not going to sweat the layout. Give me a freaking break. (I would change "go up one layer" to "back to chapter list" or something like that, but like I said, it didn't take me long to figure out the navigation because I needed the answer.) Oh, I think I got the gist. Maybe some kind of list of visited hints that you can easily use to get back to previous hints. Or similar. That would be helpful, indeed. I have to look into this. Thanks!
