Pierce's Better Sieges for SFO

Description


The main Better Sieges was extensively playtested over *months* for vanilla before release, and is how I recommend using it. But if you use SFO, this is for you. This is my compatibility submod for Better Sieges to be in line with SFO stats. I do not use SFO, so it is not under my active playtesting. Edits made to this will be primarily based on user feedback.



  • Invocation of nehek on walls
  • 180 degree tower firing arc (this way they still shoot men climbing on ladders)
  • Tower ranges:
    • Lvl One: 185
    • Lvl Two: 300 (up from 275 in Better Sieges)
    • Lvl Three: 400
    • Lvl Four: 485
  • Keep will be captured in 85 seconds, and the battle will end 5 seconds after.
  • Ladder climbing speed is 60%.
  • Edited siege tower HP to be a value that is higher than vanilla, but lower than SFO.
  • Slightly buffed autoresolver value of siege weapons to 120% of vanilla. This is a decrease from SFO which currently doubles the rams to 200%, which seemed dangerous since they can be built ~3x as quickly compared to vanilla.
  • Increased tower autoresolver effectiveness by 25% over SFO. This is reduced from the +100% in Better Sieges because SFO has adjustments that already amplify tower's autoresolver effectiveness based on level.
  • AI Defending garrisons (not armies) will receive +100% ammunition and a +10% Magic/Missile defense ward and +15 Leadership bonus. This represents their home advantage and helps close the gap between the AI and player.
  • Battering Rams rotate at x5 speed. It's still x1 in SFO.
  • Battering Rams do x3.75 dmg from vanilla (up from x2.75 in Better Sieges, down from x7.5 in SFO)
  • More units on walls. See main mod for list.

    Tower/Gate/Wall HP is the values you will find in SFO. These are 300% Gate HP, and 70%/80%/90%/100% for Tower levels 1/2/3/4. Wall HP is 250%.

    Save game friendly. This mod can be both added and removed from your campaign without issues. All changes take place immediately.

Is this saying garrisons are immune yo bullets and arrows or they get 100% more ammo?

UPDATE: 30 JAN 2021 Venris and I have agreed to put the matter behind us, and I am re-listing the mod.

I believe if you make a copy of the mod as the author has stated it will still work with sfo . (at least until game is patched again that is.)

It's a big sad that Venris is not going to allow people to use this mod with SFO moving forwards though because its very good addition to SFO...:steamsad:

I semi-hoped for Venris or you to ask CA to take it down after I re-upload it and thus me gaining some little publicity for a guy in my nickname - Daniil Andreev. This guy wrote some stuff that has similarities with Warhammer Fantasy btw and his book is now fully translated on my initiative. :p

I believe Venris' issue with this isn't the submod itself, but personally with me since I called him out. It certainly isn't about the player experience, that's for sure. If I'm correct, then there's no problem with you re-uploading this after I take it down, which you have my permission to do so.

Seems a silly standart to be sure. But it's up to you of course.

Anyone can save this mod and upload it again when it's taken down by creator. I can totally do it, since I don't care about silly things preventing me or anyone from having good content. :p
