UPDATE: First version of TSL now available!

********IMPORTANT TSL INFORMATION**********

*******************************************************************************

-I recommend playing with the Loyal Capitals mod if you use the TSL map as certain areas of the map are very crowded.

-If you set the civilization count very high, pantheons go very fast, and if you set the count over the default limit of 20 major civs, it is possible to get stuck at a blank screen for choosing a pantheon. I recommend playing with one of the many additional pantheon mods should you chose to play with that many major civilizations.

-Additionally, if you pick, or the game randomly selects, a lot of city-states in Europe or the Mediterranean there could be some issues with city-states founding their cities in an incorrect spot, if you even let their settlers get that far. I can't really fix this as far as I know but I figured I'd leave it up to the players to decide how to act.

-I have not yet figured out how to add leylines to the positions I want sorry, I'm still working on it. Leylines do appear on the map currently but I can't speak to their usefulness as I haven't yet played a full game from every civilization TSL.

*******************************************************************************

A map inspired by some myths of Earth from pre-history times. Includes Atlantis, Mu, Kumari Kandam, Lemuria, Cimmeria, and land-bridges like the Bering Strait and Thailand to Austraila with connected Indonesian Islands. It also includes an island I personally made up, however it is labeled Avalonia as I don't know how to add custom continent names yet. This is a Huge (106x66) map.

I did my best to strike a balance between real Earth area and gameplay, this leads to some potentially weird looking areas on the map, for example in order to allow for the Great Lakes to have a canal system to the Atlantic the whole area surrounding them is out of scale. Additionally in order for Atlantis to have even two rings of water it is vastly out of scale, I used a river surrounding the central hill to represent the inner most of the 3 rings of Atlantis. Also, some places may have different climates than you know them as today, as I based this on what Earth would be like in 10,000 BCE, while still keeping some of the modern icons. For example the Sahara was not a desert but mostly green only 5000 years ago. However, instead of completely getting rid of the desert I used less desert tiles in its area, and put Atlantis in West Africa as some people have suggested it was located at the Richat Structure (Eye of Africa). (I am open to suggestions if you know of other areas studies have shown to be radically different to their modern climates, or of other mythical lands).

I have attempted to balance resources while still trying to be somewhat realistic to where they exist in real life. For example there are no bananas or coffee in South America because they were not transplanted there until roughly the 16th century CE. An exception is horses in North America, as recent studies have strongly suggested that horses were in America until 10000 BCE. I have been able to fit every wonder on this new map in roughly their real world locations (Gobustan and Crater Lake are the most egregious liberties by roughly 6 tiles, and the mythical wonders are on mythical lands)

Rising Sea Level Areas:
Includes but are not limited to;

-Most of the land-bridges will flood at 1m, Florida and Venice's locations will flood at this level.

-Most of the imminent real modern world areas at risk of rising sea levels flood at 2m.

-Most of the worst case flooding scenarios happen at 3m

-The mythical islands will not completely be destroyed by flooding, except for the concentric rings of Atlantis as it seemed rather fitting to have them flood completely by 3m.

Future Plans (in no order, or promise of completion):
-Always open to suggestions, particularly balance and other mythical land suggestions, but no promises made.

-Better implementation of TSL and choice mythical civilizations from community mods TSL

-Possible Agartha continent

-Hand-made civilizations for the mythical lands

-Non-random Leyline placement (Leylines on TSL capitals and in other hand placed locations)

-True named rivers, volcanos, seas, etc...

DISCLAIMER: This is my first real attempt at releasing a public map for Civilization 6 and I am far from a professional modder or civilization 6 player. Therefore please be understanding if there are some issues, and if you report them in the bug reports discussion I will do my best to fix them. Thanks and enjoy!

Special Thanks: Fuzzle07 from the civ 6 discord.

California should be an island.

Really great map! Fantastic to see someone has crafted this map theme so meticulously. I tried making something very similar but could never get TSL & resources to work properly. I played as Mansa Musa, TSL on + cultural start locations landed me in the South West of the Richat Structure (West Sahara - Atlantis). Science and gold absolutely took off, and by late game it was me vs Russia for science victory.

There are some people that say that the location of Atlantis was deliberately obscured by making people think the Pillars of Hercules was in the west (ie, Gibraltar) when the true pillars were to the east... the straits to the Black Sea. Int the north of the Black sea is a strait with a city on it and it's said that relics and evidence of an ancient city have been found in the area. Something to think about.

It's a tool to browse and edit databases, database browser. open the map file with it and then navigate to the starting locations and edit them in there.

It's been a while since I've had time to look at this, but the way I got TSL to work was editing the map file with DB browser
