Space Journey

Descripción
"Welcome back, captain. Enjoy your ride."

Overview
Relax inside your spaceship while you travel through outer space. Enjoy the beauty of space or check up your vehicle inside a hangar. Turn on some fitting sci-fi music or listen for hostile communcations with your radio. Customize the colors of your spaceship to your liking to show who you really are.
The possibilities, just as space itself, are endless.

Features
  • Interactive wallpaper: left screen (navigation hud, shields, engine), right screen (navigation map), lower left screen (radio), lower right screen (music), joystick / cloche and joystick / cloche display are all interactive and clickable to either toggle features, change background or modify effects. These changes are temporary.
  • Customizable wallpaper: tweak the wallpaper settings to your liking to customize your experience.
  • Audio responsive lights.
  • Customizable colors for background, hud, screens, shields, windshields and lights.
  • Customizable frequencies for the best audio response.
  • Parallax: because parallax effects are cool.

Oh, i didnt actually know that! Cool! Yea, not that you say this, im not sure the lights would do anything

Either way i'd like to request that turning off the engine turns off the entire speed indicator not just the speed number and the bar inside it

I would actually prefer the other way around: there's already a way to dynamically change the speed, that being holding left click on the shaft and dragging upwards or downwards.
I could still make the lights set a certain speed when clicked but I'm afraid that would be too obscure to figure out for the user...

I could make the lights reflect certain speed thresholds (like 0, 20, 40, 60 and 80 %) and light up when the current speed is greater than the corresponding threshold, but I'm still not sure whether that would actually add value to the whole experience or not.

Still giving all this some thought.

I just realised that i forgot about the speed indicator right in the front, so not sure how necessary it is for them to show the speed setting is. Either way they could serve as buttons to select speed

Actually the migration to m/s was way easier than I anticipated (given a few numbers as reference), so I pushed it right away.
Will see what I can do about the lights.

@Flytrap that could be achievable, the m/s unit was what I originally had in mind but ultimately scrapped it (can't remember why, it's been 3 years lmao), will try to find some reference and try to migrate to m/s.

The side lights as speed presets are a nice idea tho! I'll see what I can do, but I haven't been using WE as an editor for 3 years now ^^'

Follow-up to the idea of space speed:

Use meters / second because thats more commonly used, and set a number between like 5 and 10 thousand.

Also, you have five nice lights on the left, maybe repurpose them for speed presets? One button lit up goes slowest all 5 lit up goes fastest? And then just think about 5 speed settings for each button, ideally spaced out evenly so only one button being on is like 20% speed

This is really cool but could you make it so turning the engines off turned the speed indicator off too and not just the number?

I'd be happy to help out however I can! I've sent a friend request, feel free to hit me up whenever - even if it says I'm offline.

@Thom Foolery I'm sorry to tell you this, but I honestly have zero idea about what a reasonable speed value could be like. This wallpaper was never meant to be super realistic to begin with, but if I'm able to make some tweaks to make everything feel better... Please enlighten me! ^^'
