Tryhard damage demo-guide on Empire Escalation

Just a casual tryhard demo-medic damage guide for the best demo map in 2-cities that noone asked for.

Some information first
This guide requires some basic understanding of the game and also slightly above average IQ (tf2-wise). I will try to teach you wave to wave as easy as possible. Dont be scared, you can do it!

1st you equip "scottish resistance", "iron bomber" and "bottle"
2nd you need an engi who buys a 2-way teleporter for you and
3rd you need a medic that knows how to crit canteen spam you

This is the general sticky placement for giants. Unless shown otherwise in the guide, this is where you should put the stickies for giants.


(btw ALWAYS try to kill busters with crits from the medic if possible for max damage. That means unless there are giants dropping which you couldnt kill, if you go for the buster)

OK lets start our little adventure.
Wave 1
Upgrades


First, you lay your pile of 14 stickies at the ramp, note you only need 9-10 crits for the first giant scout to die.


Right after that you have to go upstairs and put another pile at the stairs for the 2nd giant scout.


There will be heavies downstairs, which usually get farmed by the medic for another quick uber, you will also kill most of them by laying piles of 3 stickies to one-shot the majority of them.

After they are eliminated, the 3 giant pyros with the medics will appear. The medic should have critted you and also have used the 2 way to get full canteen specialist with 3 crit cateens, so you 1-shot all of them (in some cases some of the medics survive, but that doesnt really matter).

Meanwhile the engi takes care of all the huntsman snipers upstairs. As soon as all of them are dead, there will be 3 giant scouts downstairs which you take out by laying 3 piles of 4 crit stickies. The engi usually needs some help with the pyros upstairs, right after the 3rd scout is dead, you spam some stickies to the stairs and wait for the pyros to walk over them.

Now you need the 2 way teleporter to upgrade a 2nd Damage and prepare 7 piles of 2 stickies in time, to take care of the soldiers that spawn in 2 waves. After that its more or less sticky spam in piles of 2-3 to take out the rest of the huntsman-pyro combos.
Wave 2
Wave 2 means, its time to start using ammo canteens as demo.

Upgrades:




Before the wave starts, you prelay 3 piles of 3 stickies upstairs for the 3 crit huntsmans with the medics and the other 5 crit stickies downstairs for the small demo knights. You can keep spamming stickies down while the small demo knights drop. Just keep in mind to detonate your stickies at the top in time.

After that part is done, 2 giant heavies will appear upstairs which you take out with your 14 crit stickies each.

Now its time for you to go downstairs and lay stickies in piles of 2 for the small soldiers that spawn until the giant blackbox soldier with the 2 giant crit huntsmans appears. You will take them out with 10-11 crit stickies, so you can spam the other 3-4 all over the place to farm damage off the small robots. There is some time to upgrade now (full reload speed and firing speed).

The last part of the wave are 2 giant heavies with medics, lay down your 14 crit stickies for each and the wave is cleared.
Wave 3
At this point, you should at least have full reload speed, full firing speed and full damage on your scottish, considering more or less usage of ammo canteens.

Upgrades:



First you place your 11 crit stickies for the giant heavy that will appear pretty soon and spread 3 stickies a bit over the place for small scouts that spawn aswell.










After that is done, the engi will have to put his sentry back for 6 engi bots that will spawn in 2 waves, that means more damage for you by farming small scouts! As soon as you see the 2nd giant, you lay your 11 crit stickies for it and again 3 stickies spreaded over the place for small scouts. Then the 3rd one will appear, same routine.

After that you have to lay a lot of 2-sticky crit piles for a lot of charging demo knights. Better hope everybody stands behind the fence so they dont charge all across the room and you can kill them in peace.

No crits needed for the next part. There will be a lot of normal pyros first which walk predictably.
Just as usual lay 7 piles of 2 stickies. As soon as the crit pyros drop tho, you need to spread these piles a bit more since their movement is weird and they also might walk up the ramp at the very right side of it.

After that is done its pretty much just 2 times 14 crits for the giant heavies with medics and after that 3 times 8 stickies for the 3 giant soldiers with medics. When the soldiers spawn, you always lay 8 stickies right where they drop and 6 in the middle of the ramp to 1-shot busters for more damage.
Wave 4
Upgrades:



Prelay 8 stickies in a row upstairs for a lot of crit demos, also lay 6 crit stickies downstairs for the other part of the crit demos. You wont be able to kill many of them downstairs but the engi should take care of it.

After they are dead, you need 2 times 14 crit stickies for 2 giant soldier-medic combos. The pyro that drops down before they drop could potentially airblast your stickies away if soldier or sentry rockets shoot it, so just lay another sticky in order to explode one of the crit stickies, that way the pyro dies fast enough.

Then again its giant demo knight time. Lay your 7 piles of 2 stickies to kill them efficiently. After they are dead you have to spam crit stickies in order to kill small crit demos which spawn in 2 waves.
For the 2nd wave of demos, there will also be 2 giant scouts upstairs and downstairs. You go at the sentry spot and stay at the edge there, so you can lay 3 crit stickies at the stairs for the giant scout at the top. Good medics wont let you run out of crits at this part.


Last thing to handle, is the 2nd giant scout upstairs and the 2nd one downstairs, which you can kill easiely after all the crit demos are taken care of.

The wave is now pretty much over, just some giant demos with crit medics that you can kill with 8 stickies again and prelay 6 stickies on the ramp for sentry busters. Last robots are 2 giant scouts downstairs, no crits needed for them, just lay your stickies in piles of 9-10 to kill them, they dont drop simultaniously.
Wave 5
In this wave its pretty much needed to equip Loose Cannon and skill full Clip Size on the Scottish Resistance. Also as usual, get your 3 Ammo Canteens.

Upgrades:



Prelay 4 times 3 stickies and 1 time 2 stickies at the ramp for the 10 giant scouts spawning first.
You will have to relay/spam some stickies with more crits. After they are dead spam stickies up on the balcony. There will be 3 waves of 3 crit melee scouts.










Now its time to lay piles of 14 stickies for the 10 blackbox soldiers, which spawn in groups of 2. The medic has to crit spam you during that time. Sometimes they drop at the same time, but if they dont, its Loose Cannon time. You delay the first one, so they drop together.










After that you will basically have crits 24/7 for a lot of small robot soldiers and shortstop scouts, you will have to spam a lot of ammo canteens aswell, even with full clip size.

As soon as all of them are dead, 2 crowds of 5 steelfist heavies will spawn, which you take out with 4 pretty closely paired stacks of 3 stickies.










Next part are a lot of crit heavies. Just lay your 14 crit stickies in the middle on a pile and spam m1 to let them explode one by one. After 2 waves of heavies 2 giant armored scouts will appear which you kill with 14 crit stickies. One last wave of crit heavies and 2 normal giant scouts end this part.

The end of this wave is 2 groups of 4 bonk scouts. One group will have their bonk expired slightly earlier than the other one. For both cases just spread your 14 crit stickies all over the ramp. The sentry and other people will body block them.
Wave 6
This one starts slightly different. Buy 3 Crit Canteens and also Resistances (you'll have too much money anyways).

Upgrades:



Lay your 14 crit stickies for the giant heavy boss and spam a bit there for the small conch soldiers. The medic will have uber canteens and a crit uber for the heavy, so nobody feeds it health. After 15-20 second of the heavy being on the field, lay 4 piles of 3 stickies upstairs so you get all the 4 giant scouts. The giant heavy should be dead by now. Use another crit canteen for the remaining conch soldiers.

Now you and your medic need 2-way to buy ammo/crit canteens. You lay all 14 stickies on a pile for the crit direct hit soldier-medics. You will have crits 24/7 and never reload nor press m2. Just spam m1 with ammo canteens until this part is over.

Last part has arrived. A lot of small crit melee scouts and 10 giant heavies. The first few will be deflectors, so you should definitely insta-kill them with your piles of stickies. I suggest to prelay 12 stickies for the giants and use the other 2 for the small scouts. Well thats pretty much it.










After you have completed this mission, hopefully your damage will be around 350k-400k or MAYBE even higher ;)
