By ♥ZERO K%♥
Guide tells you how to act all good-heartedly just like a true Wasteland Robin Hood would. Take from the Rich and give to the Poor (and yourself if you are poor), with a chance of earning up to 420 Atoms in the process

Requirements & Preparations
Being Robin Hood is no easy task and as such you need to prepare deeply and carefully, both mentally and physically.

You need:

Level 40 with 3 points in each respective picklock skill maxing out with "Master Picklock" or level 50 legendary perk card called "Master Infiltrator". I prefer the latter as it frees up 6 perk points for you at level 1 without any investment.

You can get level 4 in Master Infiltrator so you can skip the lockpicking mini game and not waste Bobby Pins but I find it easy myself

You need a Bobby Pin

Lots of Bobby Pins

You need some means of defense, a heavy gunner build and a good weapon, I suggest using Cryolators and/or Flamers as they are quite OP even with bad rolls as they ignore armor and there is very little defense against them but if you have any other meta guns/ builds they are ok too. You are going to need to defend yourself against villains and such as a true Robin Hood would.

If you are feeling like a true old school Robin Hood you can use Bow and Arrow.

You also need a sense of Good and Right and desire to help the good folk of this here Wasteland!

You must be fearless, determined and possess IRON WILL

Perhaps a set of medieval, archer, or holiday elf apparel
The Hero Wasteland Deserves, and the One it Needs, ASAP

You might be asking, you might be wondering, how do I become this SACRED HERO OF PEOPLE, ROBIN THE HOOD

~~~ez pz lemon squeezy~~~
So, in order to be Robin Hood you need to find a rich player camp with a well stocked vendor or a high level owner, fast travel there, I suggest using Travel Agent perk card for this to save up on the costs, as you might end up doing this a lot (also roll out your PvP perk card loadout, stash away all exp, crafting etc cards you won't need)
Once there you need to relief the villain of their valuables. I would begin with finding
ArmCo Ammunition Construction Appliance Machine that makes Ammo, it is often locked with a level 3 lock. It looks like this:
grand prize, also 200 of .50 cal; .45 or 5.56 and .308 are good, it is essentially 1000 caps these 1K 5mm
Get it first because many people check the map when they see someone became wanted and immediately disconnect when they spot you at their camp. Then go after Santa- or Collecto- or any other -tron you find, also level 3 locked most of the time and loot them either fully or for most valuable things like Gifts.
Then hit up their mining operations
Finally, time to unlock all the waterpurifiers and locked doors and anything else left locked, so that other new poor players can restock on water and resources for free without becoming wanted and learning lockpicking.
Make sure to leave the things as they were i.e. if the door was closed, shut it back so the person doesn't immediately find out you broke all their locks. Sometimes people don't see that there is no longer any lock on Santatron or Waterpurifiers for a while. Easiest to spot are doors as they no longer show the lock when they are shut. But still close them to avoid being found out faster. That will buy new players some time to loot their homes.
Some players build their camps in such a way that there are some weird things like switches that power up their vendors. If you unlock a level 3 door and there is a switch behind it, power it down and shut the door. It will be some time before they can start shoving caps down their pockets again.
Besides that, some people leave opened a locked door into a room with their vendors. There often is no other entrance. You won't find out if the door is locked until you close it. But I suggest you do that after browsing their goodies (you can buy lots of plans and stuff while doing these raids). Anyway, after you're done, close the door that leads to the vendors to see if it is locked. If it is locked, do not break its lock. This should be the only unbroken lock. Fast travel out of the room if you are stuck inside.
The lockpicking mini-game is really easy, especially if you played 3D Fallout games before. There is a trick to it, if you are having a hard time with the sweet spot you can exit the game and restart, it will be a new sweet spot to find, sometimes it will be in the position right at the start. To test whether it is turning just lightly click turning key once. Don't be afraid to break lockpicks, you restocked on them before, remember?
Wanted
So, you've become WANTED, I hope you stashed away all the stolen loot (and broken down all junk) inside the persons' camp. They usually have things to do that with around there, so when looting keep an eye for crafting stations and chest.
Presents do not need to be stashed as they appear under AID section but the scrap you get from them is not broken down and needs to be stashed. You usually get a lot of springs from them. I also suggest you to equip the weapon you need ammo most for when opening presents as they will give you the ammo for that specific gun. You can also receive some rare plans and apparel. This is by far most efficient way of getting presents.
Sometimes when you are wanted nobody is going to come after you for a while even if you are worth over 200 caps, as many people really don't like to PvP or can't because they have a weak PvE build. You need to continue travelling around the map robbing homes. But you can't do that because once you are wanted all player camps are gone from the map. In this case it is best press ESC or Z and go into Social to Join a group of players. Alternatively, press ctrl+tab to open the group menu. Go for the group with higher level players, they have the best goodies like ArmCo AMMO Making Machines. That will enable you to fast travel to any grouped player's camp without a fee.
!BE VERY CAREFUL when you open normal sized Holiday Gifts as they are often right above lunchboxes so you may accidentally use one up with them!
You will also be attacked by people who will want to gank you just for the fun of it or to get the caps and loot your scrap or pay you back for raiding their base. Be ready at all times for that. Sometimes people from your team will use you as a fast travel point to attack you whilst they take no damage because you are on their team. I suggest you either leave team after you've fast traveled somewhere
or check the map and leave it if you see them nearby because chance are they are coming to kill you.
Try to be sneaky and be ready to fight back at all times. Alternatively, just die and lose your wanted level and fast travel normally until the next bounty.
If you are feeling particularly kind and want to really harm those villains you can initiate PvP and destroy their base. If they attack you the PvP has begun and it is high time to destroy it. Once done and if it was not during being wanted you can "SEEK REVENGE" with "T" keyboard key or if they seek revenge you can also destroy their camp. They will have to repair it all with their resources, and maybe they won't be able to do that for a while. Destroy their Vendors, Mining facilities, -trons, crafting stations, special items like Rad removers etc. The higher the resource cost, the better.
If enemy players insist on PvPing you, you can earn a few caps, 1 cap per their level maxing out at soft cap level 50. If you use flamer or cryolator in close quarters, they are going to be toast no matter their weapons, even if they have a legacy two shot explosive gatling plasma. Flamers and Cryolators are new meta ever since their damage type was changed from energy to elemental
Additionally, some players will be forgetful and attack you when they are carrying lots of junk. A person once attacked me for breaking into their Santa-Tron before their eyes and they lost. I looted 1K of every scrap off them which was helpful for building shelters and doing other things I was trying to do. Some of these people are F 1st subs and can carry a stupid amount of resources, even Flux
Locking Challenges easy progress + 420 Bonus Atoms
And this whole thing is quite handy for doing the lockpicking challenges in "WORLD" section
All player terminals and locks count towards the progress of their designated challenges. So feel free to unlock them all. In fact it is much easier to do those challenges as there are more locks at fast travel distance in such large quantities than by doing dungeons. You can open anywhere from 5-20 locks per camp.
That is 20x3 Atoms 40x3 Atoms and 80x3 Atoms, challenges. Same goes for Terminals but those appear rarely, usually at -tron stations. So you can crack them too.
i always do it if the person locks their purifiers. resource extractors, collectrons, fine. but water purifiers? if you do that, then you definitely deserve to be robbed
