Cyberpunk Guide to EVERYTHING - Volume 1: Cars, bikes and other wheels.
By SandTag
Due to a sections limit in guides, the G.T.E for this game will be in volumes, the first of which is going to look at cars.

Different modes of transport have differing stats and prices, this guide will list all of them and rate the car based on its performance, helping pick the right wheels for you.

All vehicles are measured using the drag strip, this is found at the "Fuel station" and ends with at the border checkpoint with top speed being the highest reported speed.

In cyberpunk you can find cars and bikes with either purchases or from a small number of quests. You cannot seem to buy large trucks, but you can steal them, some noteworthy company vehicles are included in here too along with select faction cars that can be stolen.

Vehicles are measured on the following stats...

Top Speed: In MPH on the drag strip.

Acceleration: As a % of the drag strip needed to reach top speed, slow is 50%, medium is 40%, fast is 30% and very fast is 20%.

Turning: The rate at which a car turns, measured in seconds to do a 360 from stop. Slow is 6s or more, medium is 5s, fast is 4 and very fast is 3s or less.

Grip: Either poor, medium, good or very good. A measure of how "Slidy" a car is.

Health: Sadly never implemented, all vehicles have 60hp and take 1 damage per shot with a small chance not to take damage. Most vehicles explode between 62 and 64 bullets.

Extra features: Can include storage, bullet proof windows or more!

Price: Cheap (Less than 20k), Average (under 40k) Premium (under 75k) Expensive (Under 125k) Luxury (Over 125k)

Basic controls by default are:
WASD for movement and steering
Hold F to get in and out of vehicles
Hold Q to swap camera mode
Hold R to swap the radio stations
The cheap ones (under 20k and default car)

Shion MZ2
Top Speed: 185mph

Turning: very slow
Grip: very good
Extra features: can allow covert entry to Arasaka locations
Price: Body (6)
Verdict: I don't really know what you were expecting if you thought getting around quickly could be solved by a giant Arasaka lorry but the simple answer is no, its not fast, the long answer after going in a straight line for nearly a minute is that it can in fact go faster than the vans.

Arasaka delivery van
Top Speed: 119mph
Acceleration: very slow
Turning: fast
Grip: medium
Extra features: can allow covert entry to Arasaka locations
Price: Body (6) or none

Verdict: Same as the millitech one, in most cases not worth stealing, especially as these are tied to the NCPD which is even more hastle.

Grip: good
Price: No requirements to steal
Verdict: Only worth stealing when grandma escapes containment.

Nomad netrunner

Quest unlocked vehicles (SPOILERS!)

Silverhands Porche 911
Top Speed: 160mph
Acceleration: fast
Turning: very fast
Grip: good
Extra features: Rogues Approval
Price: From the critical sidequest "Chippin in" after lowering the crate it is in.
Verdict: Like many things related to silverhand it is overhyped and not particularly special.

Jackie`s Arch
Top Speed: 137mph
Acceleration: very fast
Turning: extremely slow
Grip: very good
Extra features: Sentimental Value
Price: From the quest "heroes"
Verdict: Its not as good as the real Arch Nazaré.

Shion Cyote "Dwarf Star Red"
Top speed: 198mph
Acceleration: very fast
Turning: very fast
Grip: very good
Extra features: Blood on your hands
Price: Betray panam palmer in the quest "with a little help from my friends" and lead the aldecaldos to their deaths at the hands of biotechnica.
Verdict: Despite arguably being the better looking of the two versions found for the best car in the game, the price is simply too high.

Alvarado Vato
Top Speed: 130
Acceleration: medium
Turning: very slow
Grip: good
Price: Quest unlocked car, received after completing "beat on the brat" in the glen, make sure to pick a dialogue option that unlocks the car.
Verdict: It might not perform well, but its a bold fassion statement, thats for sure.

Apollo "Scorpion"
Top Speed: 137mph
Acceleration: very fast
Turning: very slow
Grip: extremely good
Extra features: Off-road performance
Price: From the quest Lifetime During Wartime when siding with panam.
Verdict: A straight upgrade from Jackies arch due to the off-road buff given to all nomad vehicles, it still lacks good top speed though.

Caliburn "Batmobile"
Top Speed: 208mph
Acceleration: very fast
Turning: very fast
Grip: medium
Extra features: Apparently good for vigilantism
Price: Free after the main quest mission ghost town. After 24 hours since finishing the quest return to the tunnel and its in a shipping crate along with other goodies.
Verdict: An incredibly good find that most people wont even know exists, its stats are identical to the purchasable Caliburn.

Colby CX410 Butte "Red sands"
Top Speed: 132mph
Acceleration: medium
Turning: fast
Grip: good
Extra features: Disappointment and failure
Price: Free at the desert film set after failing panam palmers questline.
Verdict: You really don't want to unlock this car.

Delamain Taxi

Mackinaw "Beast"
Top Speed: 164mph
Acceleration: very fast
Turning: slow
Grip: good
Extra features: A chance of guilt, Tall.
Price: Complete the beast in me quest with either pursuit ending.
Verdict: The best tall vehicle, it is much faster in both max speed and acceleration.

Nazaré "Itsumade"
Top Speed: 179mph
Acceleration: extremely fast
Turning: extremely slow
Grip: very good
Extra features: Neon wheels (laser walls not included)
Price: Complete the hidden quest The Highwayman
Verdict: Sadly most players will never own this bike, however is is by far the best motorbike in the game, not to mention free.

Turbo-R V-Tech
Top Speed: 185mph
Acceleration: fast
Turning: very fast
Grip: good
Extra features: Damaged engine
Price: Quest reward unlocked after completing the optional objective in the gig "Life's Work", failing the optional objective permanently locks you out of getting the car. The car is free after completing the optional objective however.
Verdict: If you failed the optional objective for this quest, you will probably be regretting it now as this is one of the best cars in the game, minus its dodgy engine noises.

The Rattler
Top Speed: 154mph
Acceleration: fast
Turning: medium
Grip: medium
Extra features: Off-road bonus.
Price: Only available with the nomad lifepath.
Verdict: Given the gecko exists and is a flat upgrade to all of its stats and can be obtained BEFORE the rattler, i honestly don't even know why they bothered to include this car since it cannot be upgraded or fully repaired.
Closing thoughts & Message

Overall there are plenty of wheels to choose from, overall the best vehicle is the shion coyote which can be purchased from the badlands with a street cred of around 30 for E$115,000.

The main reason for picking this one is because it is very similar stat wise to the caliburn, cheaper, easier to unlock in terms of level and it has MUCH better handling in all conditions.

For motorbikes the Nazaré "Itsumade" is by far the best although it is pretty disappointing compared to the coyote and lacks the top speed to compete with the fast cars.

As for vanity, the alverado "Vato" and Aerondight Guinevere are both good contenders, it really comes down to personal preference though as there are plenty of other good custom wheels like the Itsumade and batmobile caliburn.

On a more personal note, i am currently looking to move away from steam guides and i am looking for a publisher! If you are in a position to make such an offer, please feel free to add me on steam or discord and i can provide more details. Serious offers only though.

Thanks for reading!

This guide is now completely outdated. Prices were redone as well as handling. So the Shion is only $57,000 now and the Outlaw is over $90,000.

Turning radius barely matters. Just use the e-brake while turning and drift through corners. Driving is always more fun when you drift anyway.

Will you be looking at this at all with the driving changes in 1.5? Some things feel a bit different now.

Please update this with the bandit.

Personally I really like Johnny's 911 Porsche. It's got a nice speed and handles pretty well. On top of that it actually looks pretty nice and it's unique.
SandTag  [author] 15 Aug, 2021 @ 10:45am
Ahh that's probably been changed, i hadn't really kept up with the patch notes.
Mikoto10032 15 Aug, 2021 @ 8:31am
If I'm not wrong, the Colby CX410 Butte that appears at the desert film set doesn't require failing any questline though. Played through 3 saves and always just got it for free, no consequences.

After finishing the story quest called ghost town in the big tunnel called area, go back to it after at least one DAY of actual playtime, the "batman" caliburn spawns in a crate hidden in a side passage of the tunnel.
