What's the purpose of this mod?
This mod is designed purely for fun and to add some variety to the game. The items provide activities for rainy days as well as satisfy the inner collector (hoarder?) within some players.

Where can I find hobby items?
Hobby items will spawn in various locations with the predominant ones being toy stores, gift shops and childrens bedrooms (bedrooms with bunk beds).

What new hobby tools does the mod add?
The mod adds a few new tools required to construct various items such as hobby paints, butane soldering pen and solder wire.

Can I build the model kits?
Yes, model kits can be constructed and displayed on tabletops or similar surfaces.

How do I construct a model railroad layout?
Constructing a model railroad layout is not a simple undertaking and will require some luck and patience to find and construct all required components. Player must find necessary hobby magazines, model railroad accessories and construct a model railroad controller. The recipes and items required to construct a model railroad controller, benchwork and final layout can be viewed in the crafting menu.

Do I need a specific skill level to construct the model railroad layout?
Yes, you will require Carpentry +2 to construct the benchwork and Electrical 2+ to construct a model railroad controller and final (finished) layout,

Does a model railroad layout require electricity?
Yes, the model railroad must be indoors within a room that has electricity (i.e. power has not gone out yet or generator powered).

Does the model railroad provide any benefits?
Yes, operating a model railroad layout will lower boredom and unhappiness. You can also operate the layout multiple times making it a good source for long term boredom relief.

Does building model kits provide any benefits?
Yes, building model kits will lower boredom and unhappiness. This is a one-off benefit when the model kit is finished.

Why does building a model kit take so long?
Just like real life, building a model kit takes time and patience to ensure the finished result looks good. These activities are also meant to 'pass the time' during rainy days!

What can I do with the collectable diecast vehicles?
You can construct a display case when you have successfully collected the necessary numbered vehicles (e.g. vehicles 1 thru 4 will allow you to build a single shelf).

Will I get my diecast vehicles returned if a disassemble my display shelf?
Yes, upon disassembly the game will return the numbered vehicles back into the player's inventory.

What do the hobby magazines do?
The hobby magazines allow the player to learn how to make things like benchwork, model railroad controllers and putting together the finished model railroad layout.

Where can I find the hobby magazines?
Hobby magazines will spawn in all the same locations you would commonly find existing game magazines.

Can I refill butane soldering pens?
Not presently. I might add this feature in later versions of the mod, but for now each pen can only be used a certain amount of times before it runs out of butane.

Where can I find trading game cards?
Trading game cards can be obtained via booster packs in the same locations as other hobby items. Also, it seems Kentucky has quite a few trading card collectors so you also have a chance of finding booster packs on corpses!

I can only find booster packs and not cards. Is this normal?
Yes. Trading cards can only be obtained through booster packs that, when opened, will randomly generate 3 cards into the player's inventory along with a nice stick of gum that can be eaten (I won't judge if you swallow your gum!)

I opened a card booster pack and got a Gold Rare card!
Player's have a small chance of finding a rare gold colored card in each booster amongst the normal red, blue and green versions. If you're lucky enough to find all 20 gold cards, then you can brag to your local zombie neighbor.

What happens if I collect all the colored cards?
Nothing beyond bragging rights on the PZ discord channel I guess.

Will this mod conflict with other mods?
It shouldn't as most of the items are uniquely named. If you do have any issues, report it in the discussion section of this page.

Do you plan on expanding this mod?
At some point I may add more content on the basis I have the time and right graphics to support new content. If you would like to contribute, feel free to reach out.

Can I modify or include this mod in another mod?
Not without my permission.
