No. After I ran into the problem I started searching around. The reason 8 & 8.1 aren't compatible is because they don't have access to DirectX 12. Win 7 got an update that gave it DirectX 12 support. 7 was discontinued after it got that update. 8 was discontinued before it got that update.

cant use a shell or something ..run admin and use win 7 settings?

It was partially my oversight & CDPR not explicitly stating that 8 was going to be excluded on the store page.

Either way, it doesn't matter much. I'm not refunding, because I know I'll play it & I need to upgrade anyway. I have a couple games that require an upgrade & more will be coming in the near future.

The game? No idea. I need to upgrade to Windows 10, before I can check it out. Windows 7 & 10 users are fine. Win 8 & 8.1 users are boned.
