So you want to sharpen your BTD6 skills and have no idea what you're doing? This is a guide including all the information you should know to kickstart your monkey adventure.

Early game is quite simple. Just place down some dart monkeys in strategic placements with your cursor. They're cheap, which makes them excellent early game monkeys. For strategic placing, I recommend a degree in geometry and ergonomy (optional).

Although, we're not done quite yet. It's worth noting this game has multiple Bloons that are all deadlier than the last. That's not what we're gonna talk about, though. It's more important to know the resistance types of Bloons. Know your Bloons! In fact, some Bloons have special abilities that allow them to resist monkey and projectile types.

Camo Bloons

Camo is the most common BTD resistance, and also the easiest to take care of. The cheapest way to take care of camos is using a dart monkey tower with the upgrades "Long Range Darts" and "Enhanced Eyesight" costing only $525 in total (monkey and upgrades) in hard mode (while a Ninja Monkey has camo detection innate, it is slightly costlier, costing $540 for a single unit in hard mode).

Other units have upgrades to help them detect camos but the dart monkeys' are the most important for early game. The most important camo dection unit in general (later than early game) is the Radar Scanner Monkey Village, so keep that in mind.

NOTE: Camo is an almost universal property unlike the next resistances.

Purple Bloons

This one is simple, so I'll keep it brief. Purple Bloons are resistant to energy, fire, and plasma attacks. Most non-magic (purple) units don't use these, so you should be fine. Don't let this discourage you from using units that fire these, as they are usually quite potent and Purple Bloons aren't too prominent like camos. It's still something to think about.

Black Bloons

This one is also simple. It's immune to explosions.

Lead Bloons

Lead Bloons are destroyed by anything explosive or capable of destroying lead. The simplest way to destroy a lead is with a Bomb Shooter. Bomb Shooters are quite costly for early game ($700 in hard mode), but you usually don't need more than one, so give them a shot (pun very intended). Alternatively, you can use an Alchemist. Do keep in mind Lead Bloons can appear as camo, so be prepared with camo removing abilities or lead destroying buildings with camo detection (Radar scanner or not).

And that's all for the impotant early game resistances. Every other resistances like fortification (more health) and regrowth (regenaration) (both almost universal) can be taken care of by all monkeys.

There's surprisingly not a lot to keep in check for mid to late game. As long as you keep placing towers, you should be fine. The only thing urgent with mid game is the MOAB.

M.O.A.B.

Don't get intimidated by its size: it's easy to take care of if you have the right stuff. There are a lot of BTD6 units that deal extra damage to MOABs. Remember the Bomb Shooter you placed in early game? It has an upgrade called MOAB Mauler ($970 on hard) which does much more damage to MOAB-Class Bloons. There are a lot more MOAB destroyers which you should discover by yourself.








D.D.T.

This one's a late game toughie. Truly the most fearsome bloon in this game. Anyways, as long as you have all it takes to destroy one, you should be fine. It has the properties of Lead, Black, Pink, and Camo Bloons. Basically, it's tough, and you should use Monkey Intelligence Bureau, a monkey village upgrade. Without it, you're done for.

In BTD6, you'll need a lot of units. Therefore, you need lots of Banana Farms. Banana Farms will eventually refund themselves by generating enough money and even more. Therefore, it is important to place them ASAP out of the way. I cannot stress this enough, you require banana farms. Here is a useful spreadsheet on them by someone. Well, that was the bulk of this game. You can experiment with everything else without too much risk. Although, it's also worth noting that it's important to place your hero ASAP since heroes upgrade by levels with experience (you can use cash on heroes, but you should usually always use it on normal towers).
