Section 1: Main Supply and it's impact on Effectiveness Recovery

Note: All these calculations are done for you. This video simply explains how things work.

Units need supply to recover strength, effectiveness and to upgrade.

In this guide we cover:
1)Urban Main Source Supply hex - what they look like
2)Supply icon in the menu bar
3) Rail - how main supply is transported and has a hex value of 9 when undamaged . In other words, it doesn't reduce map supply levels.
4) The way supply moves across the map through rail and from rail onto supply trucks for delivery to units.
5) Supply Hex Values - How they are calculated using Motorize movement Operation costs together with terrain and weather effects on movements.
6) Supply Hex Values and how they impact a units effectiveness recovery.
7) Scorched Earth - USSR has this policy and damages rail every time it is captured.
8) How to estimate the effectiveness recovery of a unit in supply.

Not in video: Units out of supply lose 10% effectiveness each turn they remain out of supply.

Strategy implied: The importance of capturing urban resource centre continues to remain important but also capturing the rail around it to extend your supply logistics is as important.

As always, thanks for watching.
Section 2: Port Supply

All these calculations are done for you. This video is meant simple to explain how it works.

In this guide we look at:

How ports provide supply to ports.

In it:
1) port size impacts how much supply it can disembark for troop use and how much it can store.
(ie: portsize x 20 supplies = supplyLevel)
2) The exclamation ! on the map, what does it mean?
3) The distance of the port impacts how much supply it can deliver. It's based on a ratio:
1-10 hexes 1:1 (supply : strength)
11-20 hexes 4:3
21-30 hexes 2:1
31+ no delivery.

4) How to estimate the amount of supply you will require.
5) How HQs help with the supply level of a hex.
6) How to interdict supply through aircaft of naval units.
7) Placing units in garrison mode, reduces their use of supply.

This video implies:
Strategically: The capture of ports is vital in an invasion or units will be out of supply and will eventually be ineffective and die.

As always thanks for watching
Section 3: Supply Depots

Supply Depots are placed on the map during scenario development. As such, their location is predetermined.

Supply Depots

A controlled supply depot extends the range of the supply system as if it was a supply
source. A supply depot needs to be in supply itself from a supply source via rail or road in order to
extend its range. It may check supply from another supply depot extending the range 3 times.
