Intro
Welcome to my character guide for Devil Slayer - Raksasi. I wrote it based on my own experience with heroines and concentrate it mostly on how good characters against bosses and what could help you to ease your experience with the game. I hope it would help you...
Byleth
Byleth is your starter heroine. She is jack of all trades, master of none. Her playstyle can be adjusted to any situation and any foe you meet in the game. She has no bosses that she is weak against but in return, she doesn't have bosses whom she could walk over with ease as well.

CHARACTER SKILL: BERSERK
Usefulness: ★★★★★
MP Cost: 50
Grants hyper-armor, +50% Phy Dmg, +100% Stamina Regen, +50% Mov Spd.

This skill is the main reason Byleth is so versatile. It grants boost to your damage and helps avoid damage via stamina regeneration and increased movement speed. With starting MP you can cast it twice without MP Potions. You should never exchange Byleth's MP for anything to maintain her ability to use this skill as much as possible.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: DIVINE REVIVAL
Usefulness: ★★★☆☆
Revives you once per trial in the same room.
Unlike the previous version of this skill, it can help to save your run... Barely.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: HEALTH POTION
Usefulness: ★★☆☆☆
Gives you Health Potion item at the start of trial. Health Potions and orbs are 50% more effective.
The more you get skilled with the game the less useful this talent will be.

RELICS:
Byleth doesn't rely on any type of relics to be efficient. She can efficiently utilize all relics as far as you can adapt them to your current playstyle.

RELIC SETS:
Byleth doesn't have any set specialy made for her. You can use any set available to increase her combat efficiency.

WEAK AGAINST:
Byleth doesn't have weaknesses that can be used against her by any particular boss.

STRONG AGAINST:
Byleth doesn't have upper hand against any boss in the game. Everything depend on your skill and luck at getting right relics.

Ajiela
Ajiela is pretty balanced character that rely on dodges and zoning. If you know her weapon of choice range you could safely zone enemies and poke them to death or if you're more daring, you can swing her spear left and right to wipe out groups of enemies. She is pretty great against opponents that has short range attacks, including bosses. Technically, she can be great "dodge tank".

CHARACTER SKILL: BLOOD LEECHING
Usefulness: ★★★★★
MP Cost: 40
Grants for 30sec: +30% Dmg Resist, +100% Stamina Regen, +70% Dodge Dist, +40 Bleed Dmg, heals Ajiela for 10% of the damage dealt to alive enemies.
This skill is extremely useful against bosses, it has the greatest cost efficiency out of all character skills. With this skill you can survive more hits while at the same time dodge enemy attacks more and better.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: MANA POTION
Usefulness: ★★★☆☆
Gives you Mana Potion at the start of trial. Addtionaly gives you invincibility for 5 seconds.
Free Mana Potion can give you some edge at the Chapter 1. Can be used to save your life with proper timing but overall not really useful..

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: DEBUFF RESISTANCE
Usefulness: ★★☆☆☆
Halves duration of timed debuffs (like poison of burn).
Instead of relying on this talent you'd better rely on Ajiela skill to avoid getting this debuffs in the first place.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: HIGH-TIER DEMON
Usefulness: ★☆☆☆☆
Grants immunity to posession. Increase attack power of allies (other demon slayers?) by 30%.
Still, pretty useless for me. All your allies are just to distract your enemies from you not to deal damage.

RELICS:
Because you will likely use your character skill almost always and its duration equal to this relic, it would be basically free boost to your damage.

RELIC SETS:
As character that rely on her skill to be evasive this set should your priority in majority of situations. It helps in prolonged fights with bosses that are resistant to damage like Sledgehammer Raksa.

Your skill gives you free bleeding damage, this set give you boost to bleeding damage and its part boost efficiency of character strong points.

WEAK AGAINST:
Bosses like General Nara that like to riposte or Sledgehammer Raksa who like to guard against your attacks could give you some trouble because all Ajiela's Weapons of Choice lack combo-guard break which would put you into difficult position from time to time.

STRONG AGAINST:
Spirit Hunter is one of bosses that basically countered by Ajiela's skill hardly as well as any boss that lack proper range and rely on his/her lunges to deal with you at distance and his/her own dodge/teleportation to avoid retribution.

Khaourum
If you like to dodge and counter enemies, Khaourum is your girl. Her signature weapon line hits hard but slow which make her combat style rely on counter hits instead of actively pushing forward. By my experience, she is the easiest character for a novice to get through Normal Difficulty.

CHARACTER SKILL: ATTRACTION
Usefulness: ★★☆☆☆
MP Cost: 30
Pulls enemies together and stuns them for 2 sec.

Helps a lot when you need to deal with agile enemies but has limited uses against bosses because many agile bosses has lunge attacks or could dash around the map with ease, almost completely ignoring this skill.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: WEALTH
Usefulness: ★★☆☆☆
Start with 20 gold. Attack power increased with 100+ coins by 50%.
A little bit money at the start could allow you get your first purchase at the shop which in return can boost your performance... As for attack power bonus with 100+ coins... You will usually can spend those coins for better bonuses.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: BANE OF ELITES
Usefulness: ★★★☆☆
Deals extra 30% damage to elite opponents.
Some elites could be more dangerous than bosses, all because they have can't be interupted with your attacks. This talent allows you slightly mitigate this problem.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: VIGOR
Usefulness: ★★★☆☆
Kill restore stamina fully.
Bosses that summon henchmen are hard mostly because of stamina management. Which can be negated with this talent. Outside of mentioned bosses, it could help against numerous but weak opponents.

RELICS:
Shockbands could help Khaourum to chain her attacks with her weapon line by stunning her opponents.

RELIC SETS:
You slow attack speed could lead to a lot of problems but Arachnae Set could help you a lot by ensaring many agile enemies for enough time to beat them down into submission.

Despite long range of Khaourum's weapon line its speed would force you to move a lot in order to get into range. With this set you will likely have more breating room and hit even harder when you catch your target.

WEAK AGAINST:
Spirit Hunter is the typical boss which would be hard for Khaourum: fast, agile and with teleporation to make things worse. If possible you should avoid paths with similar bosses as much as possible.

STRONG AGAINST:
Sledgehammer Raksa is the boss whom Khaourum could deal easily. Many similar brutes like to guard against you and smash you with counter but Khaourum could just break their guard stand and overwhelm with her power.

Xilvaron
Xilvaron excels in hit-and-run style of fighting. She is fast and her signature weapon line concentrates of fast attacks and fast recovery from attacks. However, she has extremely short range which require you to time your attacks well in order to avoid retaliation.

CHARACTER SKILL: MENTAL SHOCK
Usefulness: ★★★★☆
MP Cost: 50
Stuns enemies within medium range for 5sec.

This skill utility mostly depends on your opponents skill set. Against Three-Tailed Fox it works great but against Spirit Hunter, who teleport after taking damage, it doesn't. However, it could always help you in tight situations.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: SNEAK ATTACK
Usefulness: ★★★★★
Increases damage by 100% when flanking or attacking from behind.
Many bosses has attack with relatively long recovery. This skill allows to punish them more severly, especially at early chapters.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: THE KILLING BLOW
Usefulness: ★★★☆☆
Increases damage by 100% to stunned opponents.
Pretty situational talent which efficiency based more Shockbands item and less on Mental Shock skill.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: NO EQUAL
Usefulness: ★★★☆☆
Movement speed increases by 6 and damage by 30% for 3sec after each kill.
Good for clearing rooms and against bosses that like to spam low health summons. Otherwise almost useless.

RELICS
Xilvaron's weapon of choice allow fast chain of attacks which in return allow you to stunlock majority enemies to death. Many bosses could be stunned in order to stop their attacks as well.

Abomination Spirit is good distraction which allows you to land those flank attacks with relative safety.

RELIC SETS
Magic Power Set helps a lot during battles that could be won easily by spamming Mental Shock at right times.

WEAK AGAINST
The most annoying opponent for Xilvaron would probably be General Nara. This is the only boss that almost completely nullify your advantages in his second stage by constantly using riposte on you.

STRONG AGAINST
Any boss that is slow enough to allow you flank them or has long attack recovery should be your main target. Spirit Hunter is the prime example of the boss with long-winded attacks while The Steadfast King is the boss who would allow you to flank him.

Ralciel
Despite her signature weapon, Ralciel is the best in relentless assault of her enemies. She is strong against enemies that prefer zoning you via projectiles and her basic damage resistance of five make her good for players that prefer more casaul playthrough.

CHARACTER SKILL: REGENERATION
Usefulness: ★☆☆☆☆ / ★★★★☆ [for general playthrough]
MP Cost: 70
Heals Ralciel 5 HP/s for 30sec.

On paper this skill sounds great but in reality it is not. You are "rewarded" with additional relic if you win boss fight without taking damage to your HP pool. It makes healing during boss fights rather useless.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: DEFENSIVE COUNTER
Usefulness: ★☆☆☆☆
Succesful defense increase attack power by 20% for 2 seconds. Perfect defense give you 50% bonus.
In majority of situations you should kill enemies as fast as possible while dodging their attacks. It makes this talent in your casual run pretty much useless.

RELICS:
Mana Shield allows Ralciel to utilize her MP as additional Spirit Armor. In general it is better use of Ralciel's MP than her own skill.

RELIC SETS:
Ralciel doesn't require specific set to increase her efficiency in combat. You can aim for any set that you think is useful in your current playthrough.

WEAK AGAINST:
Sledgemahammer Raksa is the typical boss which could give Ralciel hard time depending on her relics. Her signature weapon line has limited number of ways to deal with such enemies unless your practice Perfect Guard.

STRONG AGAINST:
Spirit Hunter is the typical boss which could be dealt without much trouble by Ralciel regardless of her relics (as long as they don't slow down her considerably). Half of his attacks can be blocked by simple Guard or Perfect Guard. The similar enemies would fell to your blade pretty fast as well.

Japhriel
Japhriel is long distance specialist among this team of girls. Her Sickle and Chain Weapon of Choice allows her to poke enemies to death without taking any hits in return. However, she is weak against crowds unless you have side arm of different type. She is pretty great against all bosses because of her talents but require some knowledge about their patterns.

CHARACTER SKILL: SLOW
Usefulness: ★★★★★
MP Cost: 30
Applies Slow to all enemies around for 30sec.

Basically, this skill is similar to Ajiela's but instead of boosting you, it slows enemies. It greatly compliments Japhriel's playstyle.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: BANE OF BOSSES
Usefulness: ★★★★★
Deals extra 30% damage to bosses.
Free damage boost to bosses is always nice.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: ENFEEBLING
Usefulness: ★★★★☆
Deals extra 20% damage to slowed enemies.
Small damage boost whenever your skill activates or whenever your hit enemy with freeze debuff.

RELICS:
While Japhriel's Weapon of Choices is great against single target, it has pretty weak crowd control. With this relic you can push enemies back and beat them up.

RELIC SETS:
Japhriel's playstyle could utilize any set to some degree, however none of them could really match it.

WEAK AGAINST:
Straight forward bosses like Wolf and Raccoon Devils or Fox Immortal could be troublesome because Slow doesn't affect their combat efficiency that much while your weapon efficiency would likely be hindered by their eratic and fast movements.

STRONG AGAINST:
Slow enemy like Sledgehammer Raksa that can be dealt by Japhriel with ease as long as you keep distance. Stationary bosses are not question as well.

Tindra
Tindra is a tricky character to use. Her weapon line looks tempting but require player to think fast in order to avoid retaliation. However, her stamina regen could slightly make up for your reckless actions.

CHARACTER SKILL: STRATEGIC BOMB
Usefulness: ★★☆☆☆ / ★★★★★ [with Ace Up the Sleeve Set]
MP Cost: 25
Toss out a bomb that explodes in 1 sec and deals damage in a large area, knocks enemy down. Has additional effects based on Talents.

Tindra's skill is heavily depended on Ace Up the Sleeve Set and elemental damage you gather (since it is easier to stack up those). Static and slow moving bosses are the ideal target for this skill. Aside boss fights, it can be used for fast room cleaning with proper manuevers since Tindra can fully recover MP for one use.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: FLAMMABLE GUNPOWDER
Usefulness: ★★☆☆☆ / ★★★★☆ (after upgrade to Sticky Gunpowder)
Strategic Bomb leaves fire hazard zone which inflict burn with basic fire damage of 30.
Can be useful when you need to deal with overpopulated rooms or if boss like to send his minions against you. Overall, not really helpful till next talent...

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: STICKY GUNPOWDER
Usefulness: ★★★★☆
Doubles effects of Flammable Gunpowder and inflict slow as bonus.
Slow is always good. It gives you some room to move around and position yourself.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC TALENT: CLUSTER MINE
Usefulness: ★★★☆☆
Strategic Bomb creates for smaller bombs after explosion.
This talent is not bad or good. Everything depend on your build but generally it increases the area of effect for your Gunpowder talents.

RELICS:
Exorcism Bracer could keep your enemies away from you, sometimes puting even bosses in pseudo stun lock when they move to your shooting range to be damaged and pushed back.

RELIC SETS:
With this set, Stragegic Bomb turns from mild annoyance to bosses into serious threat. Mostly because of absurd area of damage. Together with Magic Power Set it could accelerate room cleaning and boss fights to absurd levels.

Magic Power Set by itself is quite useful for Tindra and become OP together with Ace Up the Sleeve set, allowing her to kite bosses and blast them with bombs.

WEAK AGAINST:
With proper relics and relic sets Tindra can crush any boss without much hassle.

STRONG AGAINST:
Fallen Buddha is the typical boss which can be dealt by Tindra without any preparation. Any static or slow moving boss is perfect target for your blunderbuss and strategic bombs.

The Guide is not ok.
And Ralciel is the best on high difficulty.

Ralciel is the best girl. dunno why you're dissing on the strongest character.
Shiroi Ren  [author] 26 May, 2022 @ 4:51pm
Blood Leech is superior to regeneration because on hard difficulty 150 HP for 70 MP < 30٪ damage resistance ,100% stamina regen, 70% more dodge distance and free 40 points of bleed damage. To make it even worse for Regeneration, it has almost double cost of Blood Leech.
CryoDrago 26 May, 2022 @ 3:45pm
I disagree about the usefulness of Ralciel's ability. It has saved my ass countless times. It can help keep you alive during boss fights or survival challenges! Additionally, while Ajiela's ability is only useful on flesh and blood targets AND she has to deal damage to enemies to regain HP, Ralciel's ability is consistent and works in any situation. She is the character I use the most!

I got the new character... Need some time to practice her. Additionally, I built Tindra's soul idol and tested some builds, so maybe I will add them later with new character review.

Oh and the traits that give you bonus starting gold give you +50% power if you have 100 or more gold, the ones that start you with an extra mana potion also give you invulnerability for 5 seconds when you use one, and Byleth's health potion talent also now increases the healing effects of all potions and orbs.
NotSparta 22 Jul, 2021 @ 2:12am
I noticed in the latest update, Ajiea's skill "High-Tier Demon" now also adds +30% attack power to all allies.
