Descrizione
A simple STool that allows you to create path track entities for Combine Gunships and Hunter Choppers to follow.

This STool was made with blood, sweat and tears.

Left-click to spawn a path_track (with given name) on your position and facing the direction you are. Reload to clear all path_track entities. Click the button in the control panel to enable all paths and to spawn your chosen NPC.

Control Panel usage:
Dropdown list - The combo box at the top is where you select which NPC you want to have follow the path.

Path Name - The name of the path you are planning to spawn. Automatically names tracks, just keep unique path names for different paths!

Path Track Delay - The delay in seconds until the NPC moves to the next track. Good for keeping the NPC lingering in a certain area to continue suppressing fire.

Path Track Radius - How far (in Hammer units) that the NPC can move away from the track.

Path Track Orientation Type - How the track faces other tracks in the path.

Spawn NPC - Determines whether you spawn the NPC or not.

Enable tracks and spawn NPC - Enables (well, actually spawns at this stage) the path tracks and spawns the NPC to follow them.


Tip: if you're lazy like me, put an asterisk at the end of the Path Track Name for the tool to automatically number the track for you. That means you can place multiple tracks in succession without going to the Control Panel to manually name them!

Note: for whatever god-forsaken reason, the Hunter Chopper refuses to shoot when you spawn it in through enabling tracks. To resolve, enable the tracks, remove the NPC you spawned, spawn in a Hunter Chopper manually, then type this into the console:

ent_setname <path name here>npc (NOTE THAT YOU MUST BE LOOKING AT THE HUNTER CHOPPER).
ent_fire pathtracknpc FlyToSpecificTrackViaPath <path name here>2

Alternative method:
1.) Download my addon, Desired's Entity Editor.
2.) After enabling paths, remove the Hunter Chopper and add your own in.
3.) In the fields, put in this:
Targetname - <path name here>npc
Fire input to entity - check
Input Name - FlyToSpecificTrackViaPath
Input Parameter - <path name here>2
4.) Click on the Hunter Chopper with the Tool Gun and it should work just fine.

When I say "<path name here>npc", that means you put the path's name down and then right after you add 'npc' to the end without quotation marks. Same with <path name here>2 - add a '2' at the end without quotation marks.

Note 2: you won't need this with maps that already support path tracks that automatically assign air NPCs to them.

hey in the final part of episode 2, where you have to stop the striders. the hunters can fire when moving. it would be cool to have a mod that enables that
