Omschrijving
Hello, after long months of cruel grind I finally am able to publish my new 3D made skin.

This design is inspired by katanas, the craftsmanship behind them, as well as overall Japanese traditional art.

The base mesh provided by Millenia has been modified with custom made, hand sculpted elementes like the oni mask and modeled bits like the katana wrap on the grip for the final result visible in game. It features combination of flat and perspective bakes for diffuse, normal, and roughness maps to try and utylize every last bit in the workshopers arsenal. :)

A few boring technicalities about the design itself:
I wanted to create this design in this fashion for two reasons: one - I really like using rear of the POV models as focal points of the designs and deagle allows for that with hefty real estate facing player and two - once I settled on Japanese setting I thought it is very climatic to have the long, sharp slide used as a katana blade with hardened edge (hamon - I mostly followed shape of hamon midare/gunome irregular - https://fudo-myoo.com/img/cms/yaki-ba.jpg and https://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/uploads/monthly_07_2012/post-3540-14196837857171.jpg, and the tip hardening - (boshi - as irregular contination of the hamon), that also fits the powerful image of katana and deagle being a one-shot kill for quick and decisive frags.

The inscription on side I tried to follow traditional blade inscription font style, the inscription reads 鬼に金棒 (oninikanabou) which is authentic japanese idiom meaning "making a strong person even stronger (like giving a metal rod to an ogre); as strong as can be" which I thought fits the oni-themed deagle skin perfectly. source: http://www.romajidesu.com/dictionary/meaning-of-%E9%AC%BC%E3%81%AB%E9%87%91%E6%A3%92.html

The inscription on top I wanted to use more of a caligraphic style, the inscription reads 砂漠の鷲 (sabaku no washi), which is just Japanese for Desert Eagle.

Both inscription have been hand painted by me and verified that they keep their meaning by my Kanji fluent sister, however if you see an issue with them - please let me know. :)

The grip I tried to stick to one style, but I figured it was difficult to make one specific type of wrap working on this design so I just mixed various features of various wrap styles.

For menuki (https://www.reliks.com/functional-swords/japanese-swords/menuki/) I had to go with a golden eagle, becouse well... That's Deagle!

The rest is a bit looser as far as following authentic katana restrictions, since in the end its just a gun interpretation. :)

HUGE THANKS to my workshop friends who kept explaning stuff to me everytime I got into blind corner while working on the skin... Love ya!

If you liked this design, please don't hestitiate to leave a good vote as well as check my other designs across my workshop.
