Mega Man X Achievements
In Buster We Trust: Defeat any of the eight Maverick bosses in Mega Man X.

Self-explanatory: achieved when defeating any boss after the intro exclusively with the default weapon.

Nobody Nose my Sorrow: Cut off Flame Mammoth's trunk in Mega Man X.

Use Boomerang Cutter (obtained by defeating Boomer Kuwanger) to damage Flame Mammoth until his trunk falls off.

Just Plain Dillo: Knock off Armored Armadillo's armor in Mega Man X.

Use Electric Spark (Obtained from Spark Mandrill) against Armored Armadillo to knock his armor off.

Gimp my Ride: Destroy an enemy Ride Armor in Mega Man X.

Destroy an Armor Soldier using a Ride Armor. They can be found in Chill Penguin’s stage or Sigma Palace 2.

Pretty (Devastating) In Pink: Use the Spiral Crush Buster to defeat a boss in Mega Man X.

The Spiral Crush Buster is obtained when you have the Arm Parts from Flame Mammoth’s Stage. Simply score the last hit on a boss while using this. This can also be done with the Zero Buster.

Re-Armed: Receive Zero's arm part in Mega Man X.

Get to Sigma Palace 1 without collecting the arm part of Light Armor, then defeat Vile.

Never Hearts to be Careful: Obtain all Heart Tanks and max out X's energy gauge in Mega Man X.

Find and collect all 8 Heart Tanks. There is one in each Maverick boss stage.
  • Chill Penguin: Exit the Armor Soldier cave on the right, then climb to the plateau above. Destroy the left-most ice igloo with Fire Wave for the Heart Tank.
  • Storm Eagle: From the Top-most lift at the beginning of the level, Dash + Jump to the left to land on a tower where the Heart Tank lies.
  • Spark Mandrill: After the miniboss, climb up walls to your right until you eventually find a small platform with a Heart Tank on it From here, use a well-timed dash walljump or Boomerang Cutter (obtained from beating Boomer Kuwanger) to snag it.
  • Flame Mammoth: It will be lying on top of lava in the bottom right corner of the big room with lots of Dig Labours. After defeating Chill Penguin, the lava will freeze over allowing easier access to the Heart Tank.
  • Armored Armadillo: After quickly destroying the second Mole Borer (the tunnel boring machine) by using either Storm Tornado or Fire Wave, wall-kick up the wall to obtain the Heart Tank. You can also get in front of the borer by using charged chameleon sting or by holding right as you slide down the wall right above it. If you don’t get the heart tank before the borer destroys the rocks, you must restart the stage.
  • Launch Octopus: When you reach an area with bombs floating down and a spike pit, ride the tornado generated close by up to the ship above. Destroy the ship (Cruiziller) to make it destroy the hatch. Then defeat Utuboros (the giant water snake, weakness is Storm Tornado or Boomerang Cutter) to open a room to the right with the Heart Tank.
  • Boomer Kuwanger: Easy to spot outside the tower, use Boomerang Cutter to grab it, or charged Shotgun Ice or a technique called “iceless” (repeatedly walljump in place to get X to the very outer edge of the wall hitbox, then dash walljump) to reach the platform.
  • Sting Chameleon: After defeating Launch Octopus and obtaining the Leg Armor Parts, drop into the pit before the cave entrance to find it full of water. Destroy the rocks using the leg parts, then Dash + Jump over to a small ledge to obtain the Heart Tank. Alternatively you can use charged shotgun ice and a dash jump to reach it without the water.

First Armor: Obtain all four armor upgrades in Mega Man X.

Find and collect all 4 armor parts in any order.

  • Foot Parts: enter Chill Penguin’s Stage. Simply play through the level until you find the capsule. It’s impossible to miss.
  • Body Parts: enter Sting Chameleon’s Stage with foot armor parts. Before entering the cave, dash and jump to the ledge and wall kick to the top. Defeat the optional mini-boss (RT-55J) to claim the capsule.
  • Head Parts: enter Storm Eagle’s Stage with foot armor parts. After passing the flame capsules and climbing a giant metal mesh, drop down the other side of said mesh. Then, dash jump up to another set of Flame Capsules, which can be destroyed by either using Buster Shots or Fire Wave. Capsule is on the other side.
  • Arm Parts: enter Flame Mammoth’s Stage with foot and head armor parts. Dash Jump up to the Breakable Blocks, then use the Wall Kick to break them. Up through the blocks is the capsule. Be sure not to fall as you may have to restart the stage.

In the Heart of Battle: Learn the Hadouken in Mega Man X. [SECRET]

When you have every Sub Tank, Heart Tank, and First Armor part:
Play Armored Armadillo’s Stage until you reach the final rolling platform. When the platform jumps into the sky, Dash + Jump onto the wall on top of the gate to the boss. Climb the wall all the way up to the top ledge, where there should be a large energy pellet. Then, jump into the pit and repeat this process 4 times for the Light Capsule to show. To make it easier, you can use charged Chameleon Sting to make yourself temporarily invincible to all damage. To farm lives for this, kill the Batton (The black bat commonly found in the Mega Man Classic series) at the beginning of Armored Armadillo’s Stage over and over, as he has a high chance of dropping an Extra Life. To execute a Hadouken, Hold Down, Down-Right, and then Right before pressing Fire. It can only be executed at full health, but kills any enemy (including bosses) in one hit.

It’s Over: Defeat Wolf Sigma in Mega Man X. [SECRET]

Destroy the final boss. It’s only vulnerable to Spiral Crush Buster or Rolling Shield. The Hadouken also kills Velguarder (the dog) and Sigma’s first phase in one hit.

How Long Will He Keep Fighting?: Complete Mega Man X (Cannot be earned in Rookie Hunter mode).

Beat the whole game without ever turning on Rookie Hunter mode. When the credits are finished, the achievement will show
Mega Man X2 Achievements
Size Matters Not: Complete the opening stage of Mega Man X2 with a full energy gauge.

Beat the intro stage with full life and defeat the Gigantic Mechaniloid CF-0 without getting hurt. Right before the mechaniloid there will be a large life pickup you can use to recover some damage.

Half the Sponge He Used to Be: Cut Wire Sponge in half in Mega Man X2.

Use the Sonic Slicer weapon (obtained by defeating Overdrive Ostrich) to deal the final blow to Wire Sponge.

Covert Ops: Complete Magna Centipede's stage without being spotted by a single searchlight in Mega Man X2.

Play through the level carefully and dodge all the spotlights. You can use the air dash (Leg Armor Parts ability) and charged Speed Burner to make this easier.

Take Your Time: Watch Morph Moth's metamorphosis in Mega Man X2 without interfering.

Do not shoot Morph Moth at all when he’s in his cocoon form.

Dodge This: Use Giga Crush to score the final hit against any of the eight Maverick bosses in Mega Man X2.

Collect the body armor part and charge the Giga Crush meter fully. During an encounter with any of the 8 mavericks, deplete their health until there is only 1 or 2 slices left, then use Giga Crush.

Friendly Neighborhood Mega Man: Use Silk Shot to grab an item in Mega Man X2.

After obtaining the Arm Parts from Wheel Gator’s Stage and the Silk Shot from Morph Moth, go to Bubble Crab’s Stage, and play the level until you reach the submarine. Follow it until you reach the giant gate. Slide down the left wall to reach a secret passage, which you should follow inside. Simply charge Silk Shot all the way to reveal a lot of Large Energy Pellets and the achievement will be yours.

Second Armor: Obtain all four armor upgrades in Mega Man X2.

Find and collect all Armor Parts in any order:

  • Head Parts in Crystal Snail Stage: After defeating the sub-boss Magna Quartz, and going through the down-hill section, slide down the left wall of the first pit to find a passage. Inside is the Capsule.
  • Body Parts in Morph Moth Stage: At the beginning of the stage near the entrance to the building, use Spin Wheel (obtained from defeating Wheel Gator) to destroy the first raised section of the floor with no junk on it. When you dig your way to the bottom, the Capsule is just ahead
  • Foot Parts in Overdrive Ostrich Stage: At the end of the stage after the tornado but before the missile launch, Dash + Jump to reach a ledge with breakable blocks. Use Spin Wheel (obtained from defeating Wheel Gator) to destroy the blocks to reach the capsule.
  • Arm Parts in Wheel Gator Stage: At the beginning of the stage, in the first vertical passage when entering the tank, use the Foot Parts to Air Dash to reach the opening above. The opening can also be reached with Strike Chain combined with a dash walljump or a technique called “iceless” (repeatedly walljump in place to get X to the very outer edge of the wall hitbox, then dash walljump). Climb into the opening to obtain the parts.

Zero Squared: Gather all of Zero's parts and get rescued by the resurrected Zero in Mega Man X2. [SECRET]

After defeating the three X-Hunters Serges, Violen, and Agile that show up in stages, go to the final stage, where you will see Sigma with a Fake Zero. Simply watch the cutscene and the achievement will be yours.

Attack Me if You Dare: Learn the Shoryuken in Mega Man X2 [SECRET]

After obtaining every Sub Tank, Heart Tank, and Second Armor Part, go to Agile’s Stage in the X-Hunter’s Fortress (Stage 3):
After the vertical passage with the jet platforms, lure a bat over to the spikes, then use Crystal Hunter to freeze it, carefully jump up to the ladder and climb it. After defeating the enemies and coming to a spike pit, use a Charged Speed Burner to dash across it. Defeat the enemies. When you reach the ] shaped passageway, charge the Speed Burner. Air Dash right, then use the Speed Burner to quickly dash left again. Slide down the wall to the left to find a hidden opening. The Light Capsule is inside. To use the Shoryuken, Press Right, Down, Down-Right, then Attack. Like the Hadoken, it kills any enemy (including bosses) in one hit, but can only be used at full health.

It’s Really Over: Defeat the Sigma Virus in Mega Man X2. [SECRET]

Neo Sigma’s weakness is Sonic Slicer, while the Sigma Virus’s weakness is a Fully Charged X-Buster or Strike Chain. However, the Shoryuken kills both forms in one hit.

The Price of Peace is Often High: Complete Mega Man X2 (Cannot be earned in Rookie Hunter mode).

Beat the whole game without ever turning on Rookie Hunter mode. When the credits are finished, the achievement will show
Mega Man X3 Achievements
All Units Stand By: Obtain all four Ride Armor chips in Mega Man X3.

Find the 4 Ride Armor chips.
  • Chimera: enter Blast Hornet’s level with Tornado Fang (Tunnel Rhino’s weapon). Play the level until you find 2 hangars in an open area. Destroy some blocks on the bridge to reveal an opening down, then destroy a cracked wall to get in. Destroy another block and go down the shaft to reveal the Ride Armor held captive by a Hangerter. Destroy it and get in the armor to claim it.
  • Frog: enter Gravity Beetle’s level. Go through the building until you reach an open air area with a small tower to the left. Climb the tower, then dash walljump to the platform above.
  • Kangaroo: enter Toxic Seahorse’s level with arm armor and Frost Spike (Blizzard Buffalo’s weapon). Get to the underwater area. Charge the weapon fully underwater to form an iceberg that can carry you to the surface. There all you need to do is hop on water all the way to the left.
  • Hawk: enter Crush Crawfish’s level with arm armor and Triad Thunder (Volt Catfish’s weapon). Early on, between the 2nd and 3rd crane, there will be a small 3x2 platform on the ground. Use charged Triad Thunder while standing on it to crush it and reveal a room with the Ride Armor chip.

Fight Fair!: Destroy Vile MK-2's Ride Armor (DRA-00) in Mega Man X3.

After defeating 2 mavericks, a teleporter to a secret factory level will appear in Blizzard Buffalo’s, Volt Catfish’s and Crush Crawfish’s levels. Find it and enter it. Play the secret level until you reach Vile, then defeat his first form.
Teleporter in Blizzard Buffalo’s level: in the darkness area lit up by lights, there will be a ladder leading up above a pit. Wallslide into the pit, then jump left.
Teleporter in Volt Catfish’s level: early on there will be an elevator down. Ride it all the way down to find a room with the teleporter.
Teleporter in Crush Crawfish’s level: after a room where Bit or Byte may appear, there will be a small incline with a large health refill. Trying to go for it might make you fall through the fake floor. Continuing down through the fake floor is a room with the teleporter.

Speed Isn’t Everything: Reach Bit without a Ride Armor and win without the aid of special weapons in Mega Man X3.

Bit might randomly appear in 3rd, 4th or 5th maverick level you decide to play. Reach one of the empty miniboss rooms without summoning a Ride Armor, then defeat Bit using only the X-Buster.

Power Isn’t Everything: Reach Byte without a Ride Armor and win without the aid of special weapons in Mega Man X3.

Byte might randomly appear in 6th, 7th or 8th maverick level you decide to play. Reach one of the empty miniboss rooms without summoning a Ride Armor, then defeat Byte using only the X-Buster.

Persistence Isn’t Everything: Reach Vile MK-2 without a Ride Armor and win without the aid of special weapons in Mega Man X3.

Reach Vile in the secret factory level (easiest found in Volt Catfish's stage, take the elevator at the beginning of the level down and then head left) without summoning a Ride Armor, then defeat both of his forms using only the X-Buster.

Always Believe In Your Soul: Obtain the Hyper Chip in Mega Man X3.

After obtaining every Ride Armor Chip, Sub Tank, Heart Tank, all 4 Third Armor Parts, and NO OTHER ENHANCEMENT CHIPS go to Doppler Stage 1:

Below the Ride Armor platform and after the mini-boss, drop down the first pit where the spike balls can be seen and slide down the left wall. There will be a hidden passage with the capsule. You must be at full health when entering the passage to spawn it. The best way to do so is to use Zero to get to the wall then switch back to X when wall sliding.

Third Armor: Obtain all four armor parts in Mega Man X3.

Find and collect all Armor Parts in any order:
  • Leg part: enter Blizzard Buffalo’s level. Right before the boss gate, go back up the large structure in the open room, reach its top rightmost corner and dash jump to the right. You might catch a ledge of the platform. Get on it and walk into the room to find the capsule.
  • Arm part: enter Neon Tiger’s level with Tornado Fang and leg armor. Right before the first ladder down there will be a wall that will reflect your X-Buster shots. Use Tornado Fang to break it. Then dash jump across the spike pit in the new room and updash onto the platform with the capsule.
  • Body part: enter Volt Catfish’s level with Gravity Well and arm armor. Ride the 3rd elevator all the way up and enter the room on the left. Stand on the oddly looking object and use charged Gravity Well. The object will carry you to the capsule. You can also use the Leg Chip upgrade to do two upwards air dashes in order to reach the capsule. Finally is also a technique called “Neon” which you can use, by having the Arm parts fully charged, shoot the first shot, then with the second shot, jump in the air, while you are in the middle of an air dash (preferably upwards) press the jump and shoot button at the exact same time, this will cause you to do another jump, as well as allowing you to air dash again (preferably upwards)
  • Head part: enter Tunnel Rhino’s level with Triad Thunder and arm armor. After a section with rolling rocks and before the miniboss, there will be a boulder hooked up to the ceiling. Use charged Triad Thunder to make the boulder fall, allowing you access to a room with the capsule.

He Wanted You to Have This: Receive Zero's beam saber in Mega Man X3. [SECRET]

In Doppler’s Lab 2, switch to Zero before the miniboss room, then defeat the miniboss (Volt Kurageil). A cutscene will play where Zero gives his saber to X. Note: you must defeat Vile in the secret factory level (Found in Crush Crawfish’s Stage) with his weakness (Ray Splasher or Spinning Blade) before coming here, otherwise the miniboss you need to defeat as Zero will not appear.

It’s Over...Right?: Defeat Kaiser Sigma in Mega Man X3. [SECRET]

Kaiser Sigma is one of the toughest bosses in the entire series, but can be beaten. If you have the Z-Saber, each form dies in two hits, which makes it MUCH easier. However, you still have to hit Sigma’s head for both forms. If you do not have the Z-Saber, Spinning Blades is the first form’s weakness, while the second form must be defeated using Charged Shots. This is MUCH easier to do with the Hyper Chip.

X-Treme Danger: Defeat Kaiser Sigma without the Hyper Chip in Mega Man X3. [SECRET]

This is extremely difficult, but doable. Remember that you’re allowed to use Rookie Hunter mode for this. The best Chip to get is the Head Chip (As it refills health, allowing you to stand still and get Sub Tank energy in between attempts). It can be found in Blast Hornet’s stage. After the elevator, enter the opening in the ceiling to get the Hawk Ride Armor. Then, use the Ride Armor to dash jump and then jump from the Ride Armor itself to reach a ledge with the Head Chip. Get the Z-Saber as well, and good luck!

To Save Mankind: Complete Mega Man X3 (Cannot be earned in Rookie Hunter mode).

Beat the whole game without ever turning on Rookie Hunter mode. When the credits are finished, the achievement will show.
Mega Man X4 Achievements
Pew Pew: Fire fully-charged shots using all of X's weapons in a single playthrough of Mega Man X4.

This includes:

  • Lightning Web from Web Spider
  • Soul Body from Split Mushroom
  • Aiming Laser from Cyber Peacock
  • Double Cyclone from Storm Owl
  • Rising Fire from Magma Dragoon
  • Frost Tower from Frost Walrus
  • Ground Hunter from Jet Stingray
  • Twin Slasher from Slash Beast

Note that you must do this with both Arm Parts, which can be interchanged at any time in Storm Owl’s Stage at the capsule. I suggest firing all the weapons at that capsule as a result.

Way of the Saber: Use all of Zero's special saber techniques in a single playthrough of Mega Man X4.

This includes:

  • Raijingeki from Web Spider (Special Weapon Button while standing still)
  • Kuuenzan from Split Mushroom (Attack Button while in the air)
  • Rakuhouha from Cyber Peacock (Giga Attack Button)
  • Tenkuuha from Storm Owl (Turns Z-Saber purple, slash an enemy)
  • Ryuenjin from Magma Dragoon (Up + Special Weapon Button)
  • Hyouretsuzan from Frost Walrus (Down + Special Weapon Button in air)
  • Hienkyaku from Jet Stingray (Mid-Air Dash, not an attack)
  • Shippuuga from Slash Beast (Dash + Special Weapon Button)

Best done in Web Spider’s Stage, due to the large open area at the beginning.

Fully Charged: Obtain the EX Item, and have max. lives, energy, weapon energy, and full Sub Tanks in Mega Man X4.

List of Sub Tanks:
  • Jet Stingray’s Stage: Above some platforms in Area 2
  • Cyber Peacock’s Stage: Achieve S Rank during the second test as X or the third test as Zero in Area 1
  • W Tank in Frost Walrus’s Stage: At the top of the last column of ice
  • EX Item in Frost Walrus’s Stage: Above the disappearing slopes with spikes, climb the right-side wall. Use Lightning Web as X or Kuuenbu as Zero to reach the tank.

List of Life Up Tanks:
  • Web Spider: In Area 2, use Rising Fire as X or Ryuenjin as Zero to burn a part of a tree trunk.
  • Split Mushroom: In Area 2, after the staircase, the tank is immediately visible. Wait for the Tentroid to break the floor, quickly Dash Jump to reach the ledge and the tank will be yours. You can also reach the tank with Lightning Web as X or Kuuenbu as Zero.
  • Cyber Peacock: In Area 1, get an S Rank on the first test.
  • Storm Owl: In Area 1, grab the tank sitting on the ship (Metal Hawk) before it’s destroyed by the laser
  • Magma Dragoon: In Area 2, on a high up ledge, when the enemy Ride Armors begin to appear, dash jump from the edge of the platform to the left and then walljump up to the ledge or use Lightning Web as X or Kuuenbu as Zero to reach the ledge. Although somewhat tricky, it can also be obtained as shown in the gif.
  • Frost Walrus: In Area 1 after the disappearing ice blocks, destroy the ice block with the tank above it using Rising Fire as X or Ryuenjin as Zero.
  • Jet Stingray: In the beginning of Area 1, stay on the ground instead of jumping onto the ramp that slopes up to get the Life Up.
  • Slash Beast: In Area 2, after destroying the train cars, grab the Life Up clearly visible. Note that if you destroy the wagon, the Life Up can still be obtained.

Once all of this is obtained, go to Frost Walrus’s stage, and find your way to the top ledge at the beginning of the stage. From here, you can stock up on health and weapon energy, as well as lives. When everything is maxed out, the achievement is yours.

He Brought Fists to a Mech Fight: Use a Ride Armor to score the final hit against Magma Dragoon in Mega Man X4.

Simply bring a Ride Armor from earlier in the stage to the boss, then defeat Magma Dragoon. Be careful, as if the Ride Armor is destroyed, you must restart.

It Ain’t Ova Till It’s Nova: Use Nova Strike to score the final hit against a boss in Mega Man X4.

Have the body part and the Nova Strike fully charged. Reach any boss other than Reaper Sigma and deplete their health until they have up to 6 points left (4 in case of Earth Sigma or Sigma Gunner), then attack them with Nova Strike.

Fourth Armor: Obtain all four armor parts in Mega Man X4.

Find and collect all Armor Parts in any order:
  • Leg part: enter Area 1 of Web Spider’s level. During the first running water area, you will have to go down to continue on with the level, but will be able to go right at one point. Go right to find the capsule.
  • Head part: enter Area 1 of Cyber Peacock’s level. S-rank the third training area by beating it very quickly. You can use Soul Body to make this easier. You will then be warped to a room with the capsule.
  • Arm part: enter Area 2 of Storm Owl’s level with Lightning Web. Right before the miniboss door there will be a spike area with a moving platform. Above it there will be an opening in the ceiling covered with spikes. Plant Lightning Web near the left wall and dash jump to it, then walljump into the opening. You will find 2 arm capsules. The rightmost one will give you quadruple charged shot and the leftmost one will give you plasma shot. Both can be used to charge weapons.
  • Body part: enter Area 2 of Magma Dragoon’s level with Twin Slasher and any arm part. Above the lava pit where you have to hop across platforms, there will be a room blocked by a wall. Use charged Twin Slasher to destroy the wall and gain access to the capsule.

It’s Definitely Over: Defeat Sigma Gunner and Earth Sigma in Mega Man X4. [SECRET]

There are three phases: Phase 1 is weak to Rising Fire as X or Ryuenjin as Zero. Phase 2 is weak to Lightning Web as X or Raijingeki as Zero. In Phase 3, there’s Sigma Gunner and Earth Sigma. Sigma Gunner is weak to Soul Body as X or Ryuenjin as Zero. Earth Sigma is weak to Ground Hunter as X or Hyouretsuzan as Zero.

True Hero: Complete Mega Man X4 as X without using the Ultimate Armor. [SECRET]

Self-explanatory: Beat the game without entering the code for the Ultimate Armor for X. (This can be done on Rookie Hunter mode).

X Challenge Volume 1 Achievements

What’s Your Hunter Rank?: Check your own ranking in X Challenge.

After beating any stage, check the Leaderboards.

When you reach 26 Hunter Medals (Halfway), you unlock new wallpaper. I believe that is it.
CSDX 11 Apr, 2023 @ 5:23pm
So, do the Hunter Medals unlock anything for any of the games(in both X Legacy Collections) like the ZZ Cards in Zero/ZX Legacy Collection? I unlocked a few on my Switch copy but haven't noticed any special options and whatnot.
