The story starts in 1678, There was Thumpers mother. She doesn't have a canon name, People just call her Thumpma. So she had a child Which was named Stomper. Stomper was a successful child. Then came the second child. This was Thumper. Now Thumper was a defect. His brother Stomper, looked down on Thumper greatly, and after a while Thumper broke. He turned into a beetle, then thumped down Stomper and ran away.
Now there's this thing called the purple. Here's where it gets complicated. The purple can alter time, space, matter, etc. Very few people encounter it but everyone knows of it. Come 1692 Thumper encounters the purple. Now in Thumpers encounter with the purple, Thumper gets isekai'd to the first level of Thumper. There starts the game.
Lets rewind a bit. In 1686 Thumper commits arson after finding the whereabouts of his father. He burns down his father's house, and kills him. Thumper has a deep resentment against his father and step mother. This all started in 1679, when his father left to get milk. Thumper found a letter from his father 2 weeks after he left, saying how he was disgusted by Thumpers appearance. At this time Thumper was slowly turning into a beetle.
After Thumper committed arson he was on the run from the police up until 1690, where Thumper encounters Chavo and Dora They quickly became friends and they kept Thumper away from harm. Thumper started dating Dora, but soon he found out she cheated on him with Chavo. This brought him into a huge rage, causing him to thump them along with all of Minnesota
Now I am done with Thumpers backstory. Thumper never cared much about the world, he was quite edgy. But during the events of Thumper he learns that the world is a precious thing, and defeats the purple to save it. Now that's the basic theme, so let me explain the journey.
Now this is just a theory... But I think the levels in Thumper, (which were created by the purple), were actually created by the squares. The squares were the masterminds behind the purple. In fact, on level 2 act 8, the 13th cube that passes by Thumper outside the tracks of the level, if you pause and take a screenshot, then brighten the image enough, you can see the words "p=1623". Now my guess is the p stands for purple, and 1623 is when the purple was created. Now why would the cubes/squares know this? Why? Because they made the purple.
Now enough with the theories for now. I expect most of my questions about the cubes to be answered in thumper 2. So Thumper ventures through the levels desperately trying to find a way out. Each flying beat that he catches during the levels act as a drug that boosts his motivation to leave wherever the purple sent him. During this, he learns the power of speed and masters his ability to control his body. Now now now, here's where it gets interesting.
In the hidden level 23, which actually takes place between levels 4-5, is where they introduce Thumpers long lost twin. Crazy, I know. And if you go into the files of the game for level 23, you can find an image. This image shows a normal dog. Great right? Wrong. That dog actually trapped half of Thumpers heart in a random being in the world. With Thumpers heart half gone, his twin, almost dead mind you, with cancer stage 69 offers half of his heart, and Thumper accepts. Thumper now has a full heart again, but little did you know, when he lost half of his heart, a small piece escaped into a empty doll in east Africa. That doll gained sentience and is now looking for Thumper. That's all we know of this doll. Thumpers long lost twin dies, And the dog is still mysterious. I think he has something to do with the cubes, but I expect all this to be solved in Thumper 4.5, which is announced to release in 3065.
Now I've covered up to stage 5, including the hidden stage. In stage 6, yet another character is introduced. If you pause and take a screenshot at frame 28, then brighten the image, you will see at the very bottom left, a shadow of Thumper. Dark Thumper. He has a big evil grin and red eyes. I will come back to this later. You can find him in all stages from now on up to stage 8. In stage 7 Thumper starts getting emotional. He starts reflecting on his actions, and he finds that he regrets murdering Chavo and Dora. They were the only people who weren't disgusted by his appearance as a beetle. Then dark Thumper shows up.
Dark Thumper possesses the final boss of stage 8, and tries to end Thumpers life through physical and mental means. Now I know you can't hear this normally But if u take the audio of stage 8's final boss, and change the frequencies you can hear Dark Thumper throwing a bunch of insults. Trying to make Thumper regret his actions and give up. The final boss then creates a second, invisible, version of dark Thumper. This is dark thumpers whole heart. He goes to Thumper trying to take over his body, but then Thumper, eyes glowing, thumps his dark self.
With stage 8 finally done, Thumper goes onto the final stage. He feels as if he's ready for anything. That's when the soul of the purple appears as the final final boss. That's right, It's Chavo the Chavo. Thumper is conflicted. Chavo was his favorite amigo, he taught Thumper Spanish, and was his drug dealer. He couldn't believe his eyes when he realized he had to end Chavo's life for a second time. After he finally came to terms with his actions, the fight begins.
After a while Thumper realizes he can't beat Chavo, like he has every other boss. So he resorts to his final choice. He goes up to Chavo and commits that Vegeta kamikaze move. With that, Chavo dies, the purple is destroyed, and Thumper dies. Then in the secret ending that came with pre-ordering the special summer August 32nd edition with the signed copy of the bible, It has a cutscene, with a beetle in a cradle in Switzerland. That is Thumpers child. Now This is where the events of Thumper 5 take place. So as of now it is to be continued, but there is one more piece of important lore If you pause on the 3rd second of the white screen and darken the image. You can see a worn down beetle, on the shore of a beach, with a dog watching down on him.

Thumper isn't actually dead. And he has met the dog that took away half his hear.t What does this mean? I don't know. We will find out soon, 7821, Thumper 9 will release.
