List of a deadly soldier
  • Always use cover if possible.

  • Do not stand up if you don't have to. If you're say defending a point by hiding behind a tree then don't stand up, go prone or crouch. Don't make yourself an easier target to hit for no good reason.

  • Use lean when aiming behind cover or advancing corners (Q and E)

  • DO NOT wear ANY clothing that stands out, such as white t-shirts or no shirt at all. Use as much camouflage as possible and use the land around you to your advantage such as bushes and high grass. If you wear white clothing it will make you VERY visible from distance so you can forget hiding in bushes.

  • Do not fire unless you either have a clear shot on the enemy or need to suppress the enemy for your team to advance. Enemies will see your flash or hear your fire, this will make you an easy target.

  • If you're getting shot at don't peak unless you already know the shooters location, if you don't know then relocate at a different area and find the shooter or test his/her patience and wait maybe 10 secs before peaking again.

  • Use your team as bait. Although this isn't a team player move using others as bait to draw fire can be very effective for different reasons. Retreating, re-positioning, tracking enemies/shooters location, advancing and more.

  • Don't use automatic fire mode unless you're in close combat. It not only wastes ammo but makes you very visible to the enemy, depending on how far the enemy is it can also make it hard for you to aim. But ammo if you're planning on surviving will become a very desperate resource later on so try to save it.

  • Loot the dead. If you're getting low on ammo you can always pick up weapons from dead enemies/friendlies.

  • Check your map actively (M). Checking your map actively gives you a good idea of where friendlies are located and where the enemies are hiding. This makes it easier for you to avoid team kills if you're trigger happy.

  • DON'T USE THE HELICOPTERS AS TRANSPORTATION/SPAWN. Chances of surviving a helicopter landing in a public lobby is less then 5% (Probably), and even if they manage to land its usually even further behind the default spawn point.

  • Social distancing. Do not stay close to a friendly, although you may feel more powerful in reality you're just making yourself a bigger meat bag by giving the enemy a much easier way to spot you. However, you should not go solo/rambo because then your most likely useless to your teams efforts. Find a decent in-between where you still have a effective defensive/offensive line, otherwise your team can get flanked from the sides or rear which will be devastating.

  • Don't use close range only weapons unless there's no other options. In almost all maps they're quite a few open areas with quite some distance. If you get pinned in a open area with say a pistol or shotgun (Unless it's the double barrel shotgun) you'll have a hard time making it out alive.

  • Don't focus on kills. You don't win matches by hiding and killing enemies. Although killing might help around end game when tickets are low the capture points are still the objective. You get much more XP from capturing then killing and will 90% of the time be the cause of a victory or defeat. Each capture is 50 XP.

  • Spot enemies. Using Z you can put a red mark which can be used for spotting enemies. It can help your teammates avoid death in a lot of cases.

  • Zoom when aiming if possible. When you aim down sight you can zoom in by holding shift which will make killing enemies at long range much easier. With a little practice you should be able to take enemies out from over 200 meters away using only a M16.

  • Communicate in text/voice chat. Y = Public, U = Team, I = Squad.

  • Always try to flank. Attacking head on is what the enemy is most prepared for, try hitting them from other angles, preferably multiple angles at once.

Being all the maps are very rectangular, kinda forces a frontal assault. Key is FLANKING on the edges.

Yea, depends on what army your in tho, some might be better to pick dark skin combined with the camo texture (if you have the DLC). Really you just gotta play around with it but it can be ignored to a extent if you just wanna make a cool looking character.

Also for the camo one, try to wear more long sleeved/more covered clothes, hides more skin that could be seen easily

Yea hopefully, haven't played in a couple months so I have no idea how many newbies compared to experienced players there are now.

I thought this would be a meme guide on how to survive. I was wrong! Very informative maybe those FNGs might actually last longer now!

The helis do have hover mode, however it's a bit slower so if your doing transport landings and not just regular resupply landings I don't recommend it since it makes you a easy target to shoot. The hueys are built to take hard landings tho so just make sure your pulling back hard enough and actually landing on the rails, and definitely make sure you have advanced pilot controls turned on.
