Heart of the Forest is an upcoming Werewolf: the Apocalypse interactive novel, a story set in the forests of northern Poland bordering Belarus, and following Maia, a young American woman with Polish roots as she journeys across the Atlantic to find out more about her past and her connection to the Forest.

I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a review copy of this game's demo and after playing it a few times, here are my thoughts and reflections on what I played. I will talk a little bit about game mechanics, the story, the branching of dialogue and, of course, the elements of Werewolf: the Apocalypse in it.

Different Tales are the developers behind this game and it's a studio founded by Artur Ganszyniec, head story designer of The Witcher PC Game, and project lead Jacek Brzezinski who worked on The Witcher as well as Hitman and Dying Light.

It's published by Walkabout Games, an independent game studio collective from Central and Eastern Europe who focus on story-driven, open-world projects.
