The Do's
DO
  • Play Mr. Mine
( This is probably one of the most important tips anyone can give you about this game. )

  • Sell only what you need to; from the beginning to the end of the game, this is where you'll be making some of your biggest mistakes but also be making a good sized chunk of your money.

  • Complete quests; there are two vendors where you unlock quests at. One is located at the very top of the mine, and the other is located in the Underground City

  • Talk to the mechanic at the drill center; here you will be able to upgrade your drill which makes mining so much fun

  • Keep your eyes peeled for those wonderful wonderful chests that give you FREE STUFF!!!
( Chests have the chance of giving you timelapses, money, oil, scientists and a whole bunch of other wonderful things that make playing a breeze )

KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED FOR THOSE RARE GOLDEN CHESTS!

  • Check the trading post every now and then!

  • Fight those monsters that show up to attack your loyal workers. Sometimes, they may drop some pretty good loot

  • You will get building materials overtime, from offline progress, and also from chests

  • Enjoy Mr.Mime's company for a while

The Dont's
DONT
  • Stop playing Mr. Mine
(This is the MOST important rule)

  • Sell isotopes. Many times when you need isotopes for upgrades, you'll have just sold them and are going to have to wait a while to get them back.

  • Feel discouraged. It's an idle game so its easy to get bored but its worth it because there's a lot of cool features to discover.
Thanks
Thank you for taking a look at this guide; it will be updated regularly, hopefully like the game :). One more "Do" and that's to remember to share Mr.Mine with a friend and "Checkout this game I am playing" https://steamproxy.net/steamstore/app/1397920/MrMine

Does anyone know what the miners with red stars beside their names mean? I have quite a few and I don't understand them.

Building materials are acquired from chests, they are now one of the drops and (from what I know so far) they come at a max of one at a time, so it is quite difficult to get some of the bigger structure upgrades due to the huge amount of building materials you need, and how rare they are.

EXCELLENT QUESTION @Deanzas. I DONT know, it looks to me that you just accrue them overtime, without any clear indication of progress, or speed at which you get them. The only way to check how much you have that I have found is by clicking on your drill -> going to structures -> clicking on a structure that requires building materials -> hovering your mouse over it and it will tell you how much you have.
