Amber

After nearly 1 year of development, Amber is finally here! The little ninja prodigy arrives to Aether from another world. As hostile creatures lurk in the world of Aether, Amber must use the techniques taught by her sensei to defend herself, while following her strict rule of "no killing".





Amber is a technical, rushdown, glass cannon character. Her kit grants the player a library full of combos, and flashy finishing KOs. Make use of Amber's yarn ball for mobility, damage boosting, and extending combos. Her Empowered Specials allow her to deal massive damage or KO enemies early. Her Boost Meter further strengthens her Empowered Specials, rewarding excellent combo play.

Yarn Ball
What does down special do? It allows her to equip the yarn ball and throw it. She can dash towards the yarn ball, stick the yarn ball to enemies, and yarn mark enemies who are near/touching the yarn ball. Yarn marked enemies take extra damage, and give Amber extra Boost Meter when hit.


Empowered Specials
Limits are meant to be broken. Amber can unleash stronger variants of her specials once she's charged with her N-Special.


Boost Meter
Landing chained hits without getting hit will increase Amber's Boost Meter. This increases the strength of her Empowered Specials. Combo the enemies and finish them off with a full meter Empowered Special for outstanding results.

Amber is a very affectionate, friendly, kitten. Despite being able to fight, she does not prefer fighting others. She has been taught how to fight back as her last resort defense method, should no other option work. She avoids fights as much as possible. When caught in a conflict, she will talk first (unless such situations are imminent and critical, and requires immediate action). Should she fight, she will only use non-lethal methods, such as wrapping them in yarn, or using her magical melee attacks that tire out the enemy instead of physically hurting them, allowing her to escape. She strongly dislikes killing and refuses to do so, no matter how evil the enemy may be.

Amber gets along easily with most characters, just as long as they aren't hostile to her. She loves hugs and pets, and helping others. She is curious about the world around her, oftentimes exploring but also walking into dangerous situations. While she is easily frightened by danger, her impulse to save others usually kicks in, if she witnesses someone is in trouble. She is also easily distracted by "shiny red dots", and loves playing with her yarnball.

Amber takes inspiration from these fighters. Players who are familiar with these characters may find themselves well at home when playing Amber.

Q: Is Amber aiming to be tournament legal/balanced?
A: Yes...

Q: Why isn't Amber's "Taunt Near Me" working?
A: Not all base cast characters are compatible with her taunt interaction yet. Not all workshop characters are compatible either.

Q: Where's the tutorial option?
A: The tutorial option from the taunt menu has been temporarily removed since it is unfinished.

Q: Is Amber an OC?
A: Amber is both an OC and comes from a work in progress game I'm working on, Catjitsu.

Q: Can I rework/balance Amber?
A: Yes. The whole project is yours to modify and re-upload as "Competitive Amber". As long as you give credit to the mod and dev.
