The majority of the Book of Fables entries can be earned naturally during your first playthrough of the game, most are all Story Related & cannot be missed. There are only 14 entries that will require a specific decision for. If you miss an entry, you can reload individual Chapters after beating the Episode they are found on. You can quit the Chapter as soon as you unlock the entry.

Entry #19 – Bluebeard: While in Bigby’s apartment, leave the kitchen & walk over to the desk. Reading the file labeled “Bluebeard” will unlock this entry. I assume this entry is also unlocked when you meet Bluebeard in person later in this Episode...

Entry #2 – Snow White: This entry is unlocked during your conversation with Colin the Pig.

Entry #8 – Colin: This entry is unlocked during your conversation with Colin the Pig.

Achievement #6 – A Light Snowfall: Completed Episode 1: Faith
Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of Chapter 6.


Achievement #7 – Novice Librarian: Unlocked all 21 Book of Fables entries in Episode 1
You will be able to unlock 20 of the 21 Fables entries in one playthrough. In the beginning of Chapter 6 you will get into a bar fight & have two options with how to end it: walk away or tearing off your opponents’ arm. Each decision has an associated Book of Fables entry. You can only replay Chapters after completing the entire Episode.

Entry #22 (Missable) – Ichabod’s Denial: This entry is unlocked if you complete the interrogation as “bad cop Bigby”. Choose only violent responses, not passive ones & Crane will stop you unlocking his entry. You will need to replay this Chapter for the other entry.

Entry #23 (Missable) – Bluebeard’s Mercy: This entry is unlocked if you complete the interrogation as “good cop Bigby”. Choose only passive responses, not violent ones & Bluebeard will stop you unlocking this entry. You will need to replay this Chapter for the other entry.


Achievement #9 – Breaking Point: Completed Chapter 2 of Episode 2
Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of the Chapter.


Entry #25 (Missable) – Magic Mirror: This entry is technically missable if you do not speak to the Mirror on the Wall in this Chapter. When the Chapter begins, you will see Mr. Toad & his son speaking to the Mirror. Finish the conversation with them, but when "The Plot" asks you to leave & examine the body, stick around & go speak with the Mirror instead. Ask him what the Toad’s were looking at to unlock this entry.

Entry #26 (Missable) – The Witching Well: When you regain control of Bigby after leaving to examine the body with "The Plot", turn to your left & approach the large well. Interacting with it will unlock this entry.

Entry #24 – Thirteenth Floor: This entry is unlocked during your conversation with "The Plot" while investigating the body.

Entry #27 – Jack Horner: This entry is unlocked after meeting Jack in the Trip Trap Bar for the first time.

Entry #28 – Lily: This entry is unlocked after leaving the Trip Trap Bar at the end of the Chapter.

Entry #29 – Troll Cross: This entry is unlocked after leaving the Trip Trap Bar with "The Plot" at the end of the Chapter.

Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of the Chapter.


Entry #30 – Georgie Porgie: This entry is unlocked after meeting Georgie for the first time at the Pudding & Pie.

Entry #32 – Nerissa: This entry is unlocked after meeting The Little Mermaid for the first time at the Pudding & Pie.

Achievement #13 – No Respect For the Dead: Completed Chapter 6 of Episode 2

Achievement #14 – Apprentice Librarian: Unlocked all 11 Book of Fables entries in Episode 2
You will be able to unlock 10 of the 11 Fables entries in one playthrough. In the beginning of Chapter 2 you will be interrogating a suspect & have two options with how to deal with it: violently or passively. Each decision has an associated Book of Fables entry. You can only replay Chapters after completing the entire Episode.

Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of the Chapter. There are no Book of Fables entries in this Chapter.


Entry #33 (Missable) – Troll Funeral Rites: When the Chapter begins, approach the funeral ceremony. You will have the option of interrupting or waiting till it ends. Do not interrupt & instead, walk over directly to your left & head to the offering table. There are four objects to interact with: a bottle of Billy Goat whiskey & three notes. The first note after the whiskey will be one from Holly to Lily. After reading it, you will unlock this entry.

Entry #34 – Vivian: This entry is unlocked after speaking with "The Plot" & Nerissa during Lily’s funeral when Vivian asks for them to witness the burning ceremony.


Achievement #16– Belly Full of Stones: Completed Chapter 2 of Episode 3
Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of the Chapter.


Entry #35 – Dr. Swineheart: This entry is unlocked after meeting Dr. Swineheart for the first time.

At the end of Chapter 3 we will have three options for us to go & investigate. Choose to investigate the apartment first. There are 2 missable entries in the next Chapter that we would have to replay it for if we miss them by not going there first...


Achievement #17 – What Big Eyes You Have: Completed Chapter 3 of Episode 3
Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of the Chapter.


Entry #37 (Missable) – Headless Horseman: This entry is unlocked if you investigate the apartment first. Upon finding the door open & heading inside make your way to the far-left corner of the room. On top of a desk, is a golden statue of the Headless Horseman. Interacting with it will unlock the Book of Fables entry.

Choose the offices as the second place to investigate to find the other Missable Entry for this Chapter.

Entry #36 (Missable) – Flycatcher: This entry is unlocked after speaking with Flycatcher as you leave the offices.

Entry #38 – The Trip Trap Bar: This entry is unlocked after discovering “A.G.”s address while at the Trip Trap Bar.


Achievement #18– Huff & Puff: Completed Chapter 4 of Episode 3
Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of the Chapter.


Entry #39 – Auntie Greenleaf: This entry is unlocked after meeting Auntie Greenleaf for the first time.

Entry #41 (Missable) – Glamour Tube: At the end of the Chapter we will have the option of burning Auntie Greenleaf’s tree or leaving it alone. This entry is unlocked for leaving the tree alone. We will have to replay this Chapter to unlock the alternate entry.

Entry #40 (Missable) – Glamour Tree: At the end of the Chapter we will have the option of burning Auntie Greenleaf’s tree or leaving it alone. This entry is unlocked for burning the tree. We will have to replay this Chapter to unlock the alternate entry.


Achievement #19 – Severe Case of Lycanthropy: Completed Chapter 5 of Episode 3
Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of the Chapter.


Entry #42 – Ring of Dispel: This entry is unlocked after Crane fails to use the Ring of Dispel at the Pudding & Pie.

Entry #43 – Bloody Mary: This entry is unlocked at the end of Chapter 6.


Achievement #20 – The Enchanted Land of New York City: Completed Chapter 6 of Episode 3
Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of Chapter 6.


Achievement #21 – Journeyman Librarian: Unlocked all 11 Book of Fables entries in Episode 3
You will be able to unlock 10 of the 11 Fables entries in one playthrough. At the end of Chapter 5 you will be interrogating Auntie Greenleaf & have two options with how to deal with it: burning the tree or leaving it alone. Each decision has an associated Book of Fables entry. You can only replay Chapters after completing the entire Episode.

Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of the Chapter.


During Chapter 2, you will eventually get to choose where to investigate first: The Lucky Pawn or the Cut Above. Choosing the Lucky Pawn first will unlock a missable Book of Fables entry & save you having to replay the Chapter.


Achievement #23 – There Was A Wolf: Completed Chapter 2 of Episode 4
Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of the Chapter. There are no Book of Fables entries in this Chapter.


Entry #46 (Missable) – Donkey Skin Coat: This entry is unlocked only if you choose to go to the Lucky Pawn first in Chapter 2.

Entry #47 (Missable) – Briar Rose: This entry is unlocked only if you choose to go to the Lucky Pawn first in Chapter 2. When Jack begins closing shop, you will gain control of Bigby. On the right side of the room there are two glass cases. One contains a Crystal Ball & the other is a Pin Cushion. Interacting with the Pin Cushion will unlock the entry. Be sure to find it before Interacting with the empty display case on the far left of the shop which will progress the Chapter.

Entry #48 – The Jersey Devil: This entry is unlocked at the Lucky Pawn in Chapter 3 or 4.

Entry #49 – Woodsman’s Axe: This entry is unlocked at the Lucky Pawn in Chapter 3 or 4.


Achievement #24 – Who Ruled the Land: Completed Chapter 3 of Episode 4
Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of the Chapter. This will unlock when you finish investigating either the Lucky Pawn or The Cut Above.


Entry #50 (Missable) – Johann: This entry is unlocked only if you choose to go to the Lucky Pawn first in Chapter 2 & The Cut Above second. It unlocks at the end of the Chapter.


Achievement #25 – He Was Much Feared: Completed Chapter 4 of Episode 4
Story Related. The Achievement will unlock at the end of the Chapter. This will unlock when you finish investigating either the Lucky Pawn or The Cut Above.

Entry #58 (Missable) – Winter Wolf: When you reach Sheppard Metalworks, make your way through the building & investigate the work bench. In the following conversation with Bloody Mary you will have 4 options to choose from: "Cut the (censored by Steam)," "I'm talking to you!", "[Hit her]", or "...(silence)".

Keep the conversation going with either "Cut the (censored by Steam)" or "I'm talking to you!” to unlock this entry about Bigby’s mother.

You will be able to unlock all 8 of the Fables entries in one playthrough but only if you choose to keep the conversation going with Bloody Mary in Chapter 3. You can only replay Chapters after completing the entire Episode.
