Moonchild

Descrizione
"Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti, Do! My, isn't he the sweetest little thing! Moonchild joins the ensemble!"

Moonchild is a full original character mod. His attacks are primarily themed around aspects of pianos, though there are some attacks that make use of aspects of his design visually.

He has several alternate versions of some of his special attacks that do different things, and his taunt has support for custom audio. Changing attacks are Parry + Attack for NSPECIAL and Parry + Special for FSPECIAL.

To implement custom audio for his taunt, simply add the variable "childsupport" to your character's init and define it, while putting an audio file called "mchildsong" into your sounds folder. The entire base cast supports his taunt alongside Sandbert and Guadua, and more is sure to be added very soon. A guide to making the audio for him and just generally a support guide will also be created shortly.


Currently, Moonchild has support for Mt. Dedede Stadium and Hikaru, but more is intended on being added. If you notice anything wrong with him please please please comment!!! All feedback is appreciated immensely :D

I was testing UpStrong in Practice Mode and it seems it doesn't connect properly (against a lvl 9 Clairen with Perfect DI), it might be impossible to avoid it as a player, but the CPU can still DI away from it a few times so I guess it's not that impossible.

I absolutely love the aesthetic and idea behind this character. The living monstrous piano is an idea with so much potential, and once I found out about the special variations, it got even better. That being said, I think it's missing some cohesion and flow. Moves like down tilt and most aerials besides neutral air don't really encourage combos. It's between a heavy and light, like a tactical character. If that is the goal, then maybe there's a way to tie in the moveset to itself? Perhaps I'm rambling. To summarize, I love this character and would love to see an update. I still like playing it from time to time.
