Introduction To Modding
This guide is very beginner friendly, so if you have modded before you probably know some of this stuff already.

I recommend reading the whole guide & installing everything in order, to help you understand how to get everything working correctly.

This mod guide is also updated often, so there may be upgrades to the guide, or just general cleanup. Any major updates will be in the Updates & Known Issues section of the guide for easy access.

Here is a good example of what the mods in this guide do:

This mod list also makes the game go from around 5-9gb in size to about 32-36gb, so keep this in mind too when installing these mods, as well as any other mods.

If you are encountering any issues with the game, even before modding, look at the Bugs & Fixes section of the guide.
If it is not covered in there, you can also try in the Updates & Known Issues section of the guide.

If you'r issue is not in either section, let me know in the comments and I will see what I can do or find to resolve any issues.

I have a video to show everyone how to install all the mods on this list and more.

The full install of the mod guide only takes around 18 minutes, and I probably will update this video to be better quality in the future:

https://youtu.be/6dLNfZcSHaE

This next part is for anyone confused about this guide teaching you how to create your own mods

I am not an expert on creating custom maps or models sadly. I can give you some resources to help you get started though.

Here are the mod tools you will need to create your own mods:

SWBF2 Mod Tools SDK 2020 uploaded by MileHighGuy

https://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-battlefront-ii/downloads/swbf2-mod-tools-sdk-2020

These mod tools are upgraded from the original.

There are active communities on forums and there are some videos to easily show you a lot of the basics, and also for help.

One of the best of these is gametoast:
https://www.gametoast.com/

Some of my personal favorite modding videos are by jedimoose32 on youtube. Forums like gametoast are super helpful for figuring out problems while you are modding.

None of these mods are mine!
This is simply a tutorial on how to get mods working so that others can enjoy them as well.

Thank you to all the creators who have made so many amazing mods!

I am also not some sort of paid advertiser for anyone. I have no sponsors to make this guide, or include anything. These mods and tools are all genuinely helpful.
Bugs & Fixes
These bug fixes should help before and after you have installed any mods.

This is a good spot to start if you run into any issues.

If the bug you are encountering is not in this section, it may be in the Updates & Known Issues section of the guide.

  • Random Colors
AMD GPUs can actually make the terrain a weird color. This has been fixed in newer versions of the drivers, but still exists through older GPUs and errors in newer drivers.

Fix 1: GPU drivers need updating

Fix 2: Current GPU drivers are not updated right by AMD. You have to revert to an older version of the drivers (newer isn't always better).

Fix 3: Drivers were not installed correctly. This one is VERY rare. This is often not your fault, this is AMDs servers, or slow internet. You will need to revert to an older driver version, then update again.

I do not own an AMD graphics card, and unable help with installing or reverting drivers.
Apology to all AMD graphics card users having issues.

Pic by someone who got his account deleted, so thanks random person!

  • Screen Turns Black When Playing/ Launching
Fix 1: Turn off Discord/Steam overlay
(even GPU overlays can do this but it is rare)

Fix 2: Some resolutions may make the screen go black.

Fix 3: Start this fix by un-syncing your Steam Cloud to keep Steam from reloading a file. Then, you have to get rid of the file "RemasteredGlobalSettings" from the SaveGames folder, which is located in your GameData folder.

  • Null Text/ Visible File Names/ Subtitles Issues/ General Text Issues
Fix 1: Steam Library -> Right click the game -> Game properties -> Set launch options. then type "-lang 0" (without quotations of course).

Fix 2: Re-downloading the game (checking file integrity does NOT fix this glitch)

  • Game Crashing (Usually On Startup)
Fix 1: Go to control panel, then go to Hardware and Sound. Click Sound, and select the Recording tab. Right click in the recording section and enable show disabled devices. A device called stereo mix should pop up. If it doesn't, Fix 2. If it does, right click and enable stereo mix.
(may be different locations for these settings in Windows 11)

Fix 2: Plug in a mic/headphones. Start game, and you SHOULD be able to remove them and still hear from the speakers. I have no idea why this works.

Other Possibilities: Sometimes modded maps do not fully remove assets they use. Then when loading the next map, it becomes too much for the game to handle and causes a crash. Only the map maker can fix this.

  • Game Crashes As Soon As Loading Into a Map
Fix: Close MSI Afterburner and/or Rivatuner

  • Music Stops When Other Sounds Play (Lightsaber/Blaster/Roll/Talking)
Fix 1: alt+tab out of the game, and get back into the game

    Fix 2: Update Audio Drivers

Note: some maps don't implement this correctly, so any new maps can have this issue, and the mod creator has to fix this.

  • Can Not Add New Modded Maps
Fix: The game is reading too many maps. The best thing to do is to move map files out of your mod folder, and back in whenever you want to play them.

  • Weird Effects On Screen
Fix: Switch resolution to one that works. Not a good solution sadly, but that is the best fix for this one. I found 1600x900p and 1920x1080p both do work. Modders are still working on fixing more resolutions, so this is a work in progress to get more and more resolutions working.

  • Multiplayer Issues
Multiplayer time outs and many ping issues are not fixable sadly.

These issues are most likely an issue with the servers. These servers behave differently, and are effected by internet, maintenance, outages, location, etc. They are also sadly effected by the code of the game, which is of course over 15 years old.

The most you can really do is check your internet connection. If that is good, you might want to see if you can give the game more bandwidth in the menus of the game. Keep in mind, this will slow down any other programs using internet.

If you have tried both of these, then it is the servers. Not you or your game.
Major Modding Tips & Tools
If you want to skip to the "meat" of this list, you can just scroll past all the tips. The tips are simply here to help if you get stuck, and help you understand how to install different kinds of mods. I very much recommend checking out the tools provided.

This is probably the longest and most time consuming section of the entire guide.

Tips:

  • Do not be afraid to play with your game. Take the first mod on my list: you can't uninstall it. This means it could "break" your game if you uninstall it. This should not scare you. You can re-download the game and start over. I have had to many times, and probably will have to in the future.

  • When deleting the game, modded files can be left over afterwards, so it is good to have the game files open and on screen, delete the game, then delete the leftover mod files.

I say this simply because if you do not backup any data, just remember that it is not an issue, and it is good to clean up any leftover files if you delete the game.

  • Mods will work in multiplayer, BUT only if the people you play with have the EXACT same mods installed.

  • The Unofficial Patch 1.3 r30 or higher is required for most mods.

I use the 1.5r2 patch in this guide, which has a resolution fix, as well as a few other little upgrades to the game, making it (in my opinion) better than the 1.3 r30 patch most guides use. It also helps a lot with performance, which isn't a big deal for a game over 15 years old.

This also comes with HD menus. Menu mods can crash the game.

The Remaster Installer also has cockpits in the game. Other cockpit mods can also crash the game, so avoid those mods as well.

  • I find modding easier when you open the GameData folder and then right click on the file icon on your desktop. This will bring up another menu, where you can select the "File Explorer" option.

Selecting this will open another file viewer for you to use. Then you can use one for your games files and the other can be the mod you wish to install.

Then you can copy/paste, cut/paste, or drag/drop much easier and quicker. This also makes it easier for you to not get lost while modding. When you install a lot of mods, they can quickly get confusing, so this will help you keep yourself organized.

  • How to get to the game directory? This is super easy on steam. Right click on the game, hover over "manage", and click on "browse local files". This takes you to your game's location in the file manager.

In the GameData folder, you can add a new folder and name it "addon" (without quotes). Sometimes this folder is already there, it does not need to be replaced if it is already there.

CD owners of the game need to go to a directory that looks like this:
C:\Program files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData
This is probably the only way a lot of mods will work properly with the CD version of the game.

I believe the GOG version is similar as well, however it may be easier to find as you probably chose where to download the game.

  • Most new maps are just files with 3 letter names, like "ABC" or "CFC". These files belong in the addon folder, meaning all you have to do is copy and paste these files. Its SUPER easy.

  • Do not add too many maps! You will eventually get an error on the main screen if you add too many. I personally like to copy and paste map files just because I can then delete them from the game and add them back later when I want to play that map.

ALL the maps in this guide I have ON at all times, but that is optional, you can add and remove as you like.

  • While modding, some mods will have an .exe file. This means it is a program which installs it to the game directory automatically.

These .exe files make Windows security go nuts. Ive been modding for years now, and only one .exe file ever been any trouble. It was a super quick, and easy fix, so no worries.

However, if you do not like the idea of running "un-trusted by Windows" programs on your PC, feel free to not download it. It is your PC, you are in control.

Tools:

The last tip brings to question, are mods on this list safe? I ran all of these files through VirusTotal.
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload

This is a virus scanning website, which runs files through many antivirus softwares without you having to download anything at all. Very useful, even if you are not modding.

To answer the question though, yes, all files and websites included in this guide, even these tools, are all safe.

Make sure you have some form of .zip extractor.
Winrar or 7zip are both very good programs to use, and they are free. Mods are usually in .zip files and need to be unzipped before they can be used. Linux and Ubuntu users do not need a .zip extractor because it is built in.

Winrar:
https://www.win-rar.com/download.html?&L=0

7-Zip:
https://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Most modern PCs are 64-bit, so I do recommend downloading the 64-bit Windows x64 version of 7-Zip if you choose to download 7-Zip on windows.

A zip file is just a regular file that has been compressed ("zipped up") to not take up as much space. This makes it easier to send the file over the internet and also to save on storage space.

Not really a tool, but still helpful.
My personal favorite website to download SWBF2 mods from is ModDB:
https://www.moddb.com

but you can also use Nexus:
https://www.nexusmods.com/battlefront2

Battlefront Remaster and Unofficial Patch
These 2 mods are both downloaded together, that is why they are put together.

This mod fixes a LOT of minor issues with the game. Most of this is behind the scenes fixes that deal with performance, cleaning up code, and crashes. This all comes with HD menus as a cherry on top.

You will know if this is working correctly, as it will say the game version in the top right corner of the main menu.

You also do not need to download any HD Menu mods, sound fix mods or anything like that. Especially menu or HUD mods. These are best to avoid, but if you use them, consider backing up your files, because these can cause some weird visual bugs.

First, find and download the file. It is called:
Star Wars Batttlefront 2 Remaster 1.5 r2

uploaded by [GT]Anakin

https://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-battlefront-ii-full-hd-interface/downloads/swbf2-remaster-1-5

After downloading, you just simply need to run the .exe. Select language, and go through until it asks you where your gamedata folder is. Hit Browse... and find the GameData folder (check in the tips if you need help), click next, and let the .exe install the files.

(CD owners of the game need to go to a directory that looks like this:
C:\Program files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData
I believe the GOG version is similar as well, however it may be easier to find.)

After, you should have a new icon on your desktop. If you want to use the icon, it should ask you for permission before running.

If you use Steam Library to open the game, do this:

Open the Steam Library
Right click on the game
Select "properties"
Select "set launch options",
and type: "-resolution [your resolution]"

Here is an example if that didn't make sense:
"-resolution 1920 1080"

(This next part can be kind of buggy, and is optional)
Higher Refresh Rate

This only really work if you have a high refresh rate monitor. If you do not have a high refresh rate monitor, you will most likely not get any benefit from this portion and you can move on.

Activate VSync. VSync NEEDS to be activated. You can do this in game, or by using GPU settings to force VSync on.

If VSync does not cap your FPS in game make sure VSync IS NOT deactivated in your Graphics Control Panel. This does not always fix it right away, you may need to restart your PC.

Open Steam
Go back to the Set launch options menu.
Type: "-resolution [RESOLUTION] -fixedrate [REFRESH RATE]" without the quotes of course.
Ex: "-resolution 1920 1080 -fixedrate 144"

(-lang 0 fix can also go after, there is no limit to launch commands through steam)

There is another way to do this, in your GPU settings, you can simply force the game to have a higher refresh rate to match up with you'r monitor.

Common bugs with high refresh rates:

AI Tanks, and AI Turrets are just downright insane.
Fix: Lower the refresh rate

Menu speed too fast to join multiplayer games
Fix: Start a singleplayer instant action game and exit to main menu

Notes:
SOME mods require The Unofficial Patch 1.3 r30, not the 1.5 r2 version. Although I would recommend the 1.5 r2 version, some mods are only compatible with previous versions of the remaster.

A very helpful side note, you can UPGRADE the unofficial patch without re-installing.
Example:
1.3 r30 is installed.
I download 1.5 r2.
I CAN install 1.5 r2. This version will overwrite all the files needed to have the game work properly.

BUT, I can not downgrade by installing 1.3 r30 over 1.5 r2.
Example:
I have 1.5 r2 installed to the game.
I download 1.3 r30.
I CANNOT install 1.3 r30. It will not overwrite the files correctly, and this will lead to very weird things happening.

That is it for both mods, Battlefront Remaster and the latest Unofficial Patch have both been installed.
4GB Patch
You will NEED over 4gb of RAM in order to really make any use of this mod, but you will get great performance out of this game and with mods by using this.

Most modern PCs have over 4gb of RAM, so this mod is likely one that almost everyone will install. If you do not know how much RAM your PC has, I recommend looking up how to find out how much RAM your PC has.

If you ever decide to not follow the whole mod guide, this is one mod I recommend having every time you mod this game. This does also work for other 32-bit programs, so games like Oblivion, older Call Of Duty games, or other older game titles can also be benefited by this mod. Just make sure they are a 32-bit program before using this on any programs.

4GB Patch

by whoever posted it on this website. The only name I could find was Daniel Pistelli.

https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371

All you have to do is unzip the file, click on the .exe, and find the Star Wars Battlefront 2 (Classic) .exe file.

(check the tips section if you need help finding it)

Just in case you are curious, SWBF2 is a 32-bit application. This means that a 4gb patch is the most amount of RAM you can get for this. Pls dont hound me or anyone else for a bigger GB patch, weather it be on steam or any other platforms, as it is not possible to add any more RAM without the source code from the devs themselves or porting the game in an updated or new engine.

A 32-bit application, it will work just fine on 64-bit systems, so do not worry about compatibility.
Battlefront 2 Remaster Installer
This mod is a combination of a bunch of HUGE remaster mods.

This mod is mostly textures and sounds, having re-textured the maps, characters and weapons. Basically everything the other remaster did not include.

All of these maps are multiplayer compatible, even if others do not have this mod.
All this does is change textures, so they just look better.

Battlefront 2 Remaster Installer (May 2024)

Uploaded by HarrisonFog

https://www.moddb.com/mods/hd-graphics-mod/downloads/battlefront-2-remaster-installer-10

Extract the file.
Run "BF2 Remaster Installer Part 1 - Maps, Menu, Sound.exe"
Select "Yes" then hit "Next >"
Find the GameData folder (same as Remaster and Unofficial Patch)
Example: D:\4 Steam Settings\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Battlefront II Classic\GameData
(if you need help finding how to do this, go to the Tips section)
Wait for the download to finish. Repeat this for each .exe (parts 1-3).

It is possible to have issues with Windows antivirus. If it has issues, I would just allow this file alone to make changes, but you can also disable the antivirus and enable it again afterwords.

Again, if you don't trust this very much, don't download it. Most mods are no big issues, but I understand the concern. I have also ran each of these files through Virus Total and they have not shown anything harmful.
You can also find a link to Virus Total in the Tips & Tools section of the guide.

Notes:
You can change character appearances in the spawn menu by hitting pause, going to the fake console and choosing the skin you would like for a certain character. This does not usually work WHILE PLAYING AS THE CHARACTER, but it does work once you select the character in the spawn menu.
ReShade Presets
The ReShade preset I use already has all the ReShade files it needs included, and therefore does not require me to download ReShade itself.

The preset I am using is called Battlefront II Graphics Mod 2016 1.1

Uploaded by NMir

https://www.moddb.com/mods/2016-graphics-mod/downloads/beta10

Download and Extract the file.
Go into Battlefront_Graphics_Beta
Go into GraphicsMod
Copy all 3 files inside: ReShade, d3d9.dll, and ReShade.fx
Paste these files into your GameData folder.

If there is no noticeable difference, hit F11. This will turn on the ReShade preset, and should make the game look MUCH different. You may have to hit F11 a few times, it is somewhat buggy enabling.

That is all for this mod! One of the shorter ones, yet one of the most noticeable.

Note:
Hoth is VERY bright, and in some cases can look a bit odd.

If You Want Another Preset, Or Just To Play With ReShade, Follow This:

ReShade:

https://reshade.me/#download

Double click ReShade.
ReShade will open, and show you programs from your PC. This NEVER has BF2 in it for me.
If it doesnt for you either, click "browse..." and select the BattlefrontII.exe in the GameData folder.
Select DirectX 9.
Next it will ask for a preset. This is optional. If you have a preset, click "browse..." and select the file
Then select effect packages. I usually stick with just SweetFX, which is selected by default.
Next, I just keep all files selcted and hit next

That is it. ReShade is downloaded and you can re-download to get more FX and play with them if you like.
This is fairly complex, and you can change A LOT of things with these settings.
When you launch the game after downloading ReShade (not just my preset, ReShade itself) you can hit "Home" on your keyboard and it will open ReShade in game. This will then allow you to add whatever effects you prefer.
Xbox Exclusive DLC
Early 2006, a DLC was released for the original game on the original Xbox, until the game was added to the Xbox One library. This is also available on Xbox Series X|S. This was due to the PS2's basic internet functionality.

This DLC includes:

4 Maps from the first Star Wars Battlefront (2004)
Bespin: Cloud City
Rhen Var: Citadel
Rhen Var: Harbor
Yavin: Arena

2 Unique Characters from the 2003 Clone Wars micro series.
Asajj Ventress (this being her 2nd appearance)
Kit Fisto

This Mod has the real DLC, ripped from the game, which is why I chose it apart from other mods like the convo packs or hero mods.
(like the conversion pack mod, right after this mod)

First step is to download the mod. It is called:
Xbox DLC and Title Update Content for PC

uploaded by iamastupid

https://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-battlefront-ii/downloads/xbox-dlc-and-title-update-content-for-pc

Extract the .rar file. It works the exact same as a .zip file.

Next, all you have to do is drag-drop/copy/cut these folders:
DLC_XBOX
UPDATE_XBOX

Then place them inside the addon folder. And just like that, you are done!

There are some extra folders you can choose to add, but I know some of these files have some issues. They should be simple to install if you would like to install them though, and I do recommend installing the loading screens.

All you really have to do is go into these files and copy DLC_XBOX and paste it into the addon folder, where the other DLC_XBOX file is. If there is a prompt that pops up asking if you would like to overwrite any files, click Yes or Yes to All.
Conversion Pack (The Rest of the Original Maps)
This mod re-made all the original maps from the first game. I CHOOSE to delete some files and have the previous mod fill in (that mod is the REAL DLC. This one is is a remake).

There are also 2 maps in the base game, so there is no reason to include them in with a mod (especially when the mod is not as accurate to either, Battlefront 1 or 2's, version of the maps).

This mod is called:
Marvel4's Conversion Pack v1.1
(There is a v2.2 of this mod, with less accurate maps, but it includes KOTOR maps. They are less stable, but they do work.)

uploaded by Robobermann

https://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-battlefront-ii/downloads/marvel4s-conversion-pack

Unzip the file

(The Xbox DLC mod added these already, BUT these are remakes. The DLC mod had the actual maps AND characters ported from console, which is why I choose to delete these)
Delete the following folders:
BCC
RVC
RVH
Y4A
NBT (Naboo: City of Theed is in base game)
TTM (Tatooine: Mos Eisley is in base game)

Copy-paste/drag-drop all the remaining folders into your addons folder.

Thats it for this mod!

Notes:
Deleting NBT (Naboo: City of Theed) and TTM (Tatooine: Mos Eisley) is really helpful. If you plan to add any new maps, there is a limit on how many maps that can be in the game.

It is technically a limit on game mode scripts, meaning maps with more game modes can count as multiple maps. An example of this is maps with conquest, and capture the flag. Since there is a limit on game modes, these count as 2, even if you do not ever play capture the flag. So instead, you could replace that map, with 2 more that only have conquest as a game mode.

Deleting these also helps your game load in the next level. Some maps have issues fully clearing everything that is loaded in by these maps. Then when loading in the next map, there is too much loaded in for the game to handle, causing the game to crash.

NBT (Naboo: City of Theed) and TTM (Tatooine: Mos Eisley) are both maps that have loading issues. The game still crashes on occasion but it is somewhat rare once you remove these maps.

Also, this was not an insult to any modders.
All Game Modes For All Maps
So I am sure you want heroes vs villains on regular maps. How about the maps that only have the Clone Wars era, and not the Galactic Civil War? This mod aims to fix those very issues.

This mod is called:
+123 v2.2

uploaded by /TheWolf

https://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-battlefront-ii/downloads/123-22

Download and extract the zip file in a known location.

Cut/copy the folder "BF2". Do not do anything with the folder "DLC", it is incomplete and we have already added in the official version of the DLC maps.

Paste the folder "BF2" in the addon folder, which is located in the game directory
(see tips above if you do not know how to get to directory or addon folder).

THATS IT! The mod has been downloaded.

Notes:
This mod only effects base game maps. Any modded maps wont be effected by this mod.
Sound Fixes
These fixes add Temuera Morrison's voice to the clones and the BF1 announcer.

This also Fixes Ki-Adi-Mundi's voice lines to be heard, which were not audible in the game due to a bug. This also fixes hurt/death noises for Jango Fett & Princess Leia in Hero Assault, as well as award pistol sounds in space battles.

Sound Fixes, Temuera Morrison/SWBF1 Announcer VO uploaded by auri0n

https://www.moddb.com/mods/auri0ns-bug-fixes-and-subtle-improvements/downloads/sound-fixes-swbf1-sniper-sounds-optional-swbf1-temuera-morrison-vo

Download and unzip
Go into "Use with Anakin's Remastered Menus"
Go into "with swbf1 sniper sounds etc"
Copy/cut "sds.lvl"
In the game directory, go into "data" and then go into "_lvl_pc"
Again, go into "sound"
Paste "sds.lvl"

Then go back to the unziped file, and copy "user_script_0.lvl"
In the game directory, go into "data" and then go into "_lvl_pc"
Paste "user_script_0" in this folder.

Go back to the unziped file, and go into "SWBF1 announcer VO"
Copy "tmv.lvl"
In the game directory, go back to "_lvl_pc" and then "sound"
Paste "tmv.lvl"

And one last file
Go back into "SWBF1 announcer VO"
Copy "user_script_1.lvl"
In the game directory, go back to "_lvl_pc"
Paste "user_script_1.lvl"

Finally, you are done installing.
Have Fun
This game is now closer to a "modern game" with, better looking textures, better resolution, smoother gameplay, and less general issues.

The best part is, you should now have a much wider understanding of modding and you can enjoy new content provided by a great community.

There will be new options in game. I recommend you check these out.

These mods will work in multiplayer. If someone does not have a modded game, you can still play base game maps just fine, they just have improved textures on your end.

Any modded maps require all players to have those maps installed before being able to play them in multiplayer.

Many issues have been addressed in the Bugs & Fixes section of the guide. There are more bugs listed in the Updates & Known Issues section.

If you still can not find the bug you have, just leave a comment and I will help you.

Thank you everyone for the support!

I am not sponsored by anyone to make or include any of the contents in this guide. All the mods and tools used in this guide I actually use, and recommend from personal experience.

Here are some of my screenshots:

Updates & Known Issues
These updates will be only the major changes, like new mods, nothing minor like Grammar, rewording, or my general cleanup of the guide.

This will also only include the 3 most recent updates to the guide so that way this list isn't too big.

Any unresolved issues that I find after modding will be in the Known Issues section. If a bug is not in the bug section of the guide or the known issues section, leave a comment and I will do my best to help you.

Possible Future Updates:
This is basically me ranting on about ideas to improve the selected mods, and this guide.

  • The Battlefront Classic Collection WILL get its own separate mod guide.

This will be linked up in the future. There is a lot of ironing out to do with almost all mods. I have gotten a decent amount of mods to work, and some remasters to work. HOWEVER, no mods are working 100% correctly. This guide will be up whenever I have an actually good quality guide to give.

  • I have been looking into possible new lighting/reshade presets to replace the one in this guide.
I just have a hard time with the look of areas on Hoth due to lighting.

Recent Updates:

  • 4/18/24
Removed a mod from the Sound Fixes section and fixed some of my previous errors in that section.

I recommend you remove the Ki-Adi-Mundi Sound Fix mod from your files if you have downloaded it.

This will help your game not render as many sounds/files for no reason, and could help with bugs and possibly even some crashes.

  • 4/8/24
Finally got around to updating to Battlefront 2 Remaster Installer (April 3rd 2024)

  • 1/30/24
Updated Battlefront 2 Remaster Installer to 2.0 Version

Known but Unfixed Issues

Select All in instant action will sometimes show new factions that do not exist. There is no using these without the mods that add them, so they don't do anything

Some models have their hands open, making it look like they are not holding their weapons. These models are a work in progress so they will likely get fixed eventually

When Luke has his Bespin skin, he has his green lightsaber, rather than the blue from the films. The skin changer mod is a work in progress, so this may be fixed eventually.

Some Resolutions are broken. I know 1600x900 and 1920x1080 work, but others may cause small weird visual effects. These are being worked on, but right now the only fix is to play on a resolution that works.

Sometimes you will see multiple space battles for Coruscant, Kamino and Mustafar. Not sure why, but I have not noticed any negative effects from these extra space battles.

Tamuera Morrison's voice lines don't replace pain sounds.

Some maps have trouble with blaster fire and music, but voice lines always work for me.

In rare instances, changing hero skins will crash the game.

Sometimes when using Free Camera, you will see characters glitch out. Especially at a distance.
I don't think this is possible to fix due to the memory limit

There may also be weird/glitched character models if there are too many characters on screen, or if they are really far away. This is due to the same memory limit.

Any other issues you may experience may be in the Bugs & Fixes section of the guide

@Pink Chef
I have cockpits on all vanilla ships for all sides working. Pretty sure these are included in the Remaster Installer though, not the 1.5 patch. Sorry if there was any confusion.

"This also comes with HD menus and vehicle cockpits. Do NOT add any mods that add vehicle cockpits, as they will crash the game"

Well I have downloaded the 1.5 patch but there are no vehicle cockpits.

Here are the controller mods if you want to use a controller with the game.

Xbox Controller:

Playstation Controller:

Both function as "player profiles" and use the profile settings to get the controllers working.
You do have to change your in game profile at the start in order for this to work.

You can also rename the profile, but I believe the only way is to rename the profile FILE itself when putting it into the savegame folder.

So indeed that's a different mod that explicitly doesn't work with the remaster. I just got my wires crossed.

I thought I remembered the 1.3 patch adding controller support, but I can't find it after adding the Remaster version 1.5. Am I thinking of a different mod?
