Welcome
SWTOR is a massive game, and new players may feel overwhelmed by a lot of sudden information and questions will arise. You can find ALL YOUR ANSWERS in the following links:

  • SWTOR FAQ - Compendium of almost every single question New and/or Returning players can have
  • Swtorista's Youtube Channel - Tons of amazingly good explained video guides about the game
  • Swtorista[swtorista.com], Vulkk[vulkk.com] and MMO Bits[mmobits.com] - Amazing websites with tons of guides about Classes and mechanics
  • SWTOR Referral Codes - List of Referral Links. You can get 7 days of Subscription, among other goodies. It gets updated every month, if it's not the same post, search in the subreddit. This is mine http://www.swtor.com/r/bsXVVc

    Personal Recommendations

I mostly am a F2P (Preferred) player, and I've played this game since it's launch, nearly 10 years now (with long breaks, but still). I've only been subscribed three months in total and let me tell you, you can enjoy the game to the fullest and lift every single restriction from your account with less than 70$ and/or patience

    • Play the game for free, complete your Class Storyline and then subscribe for a month (15$) if you enjoyed it and decide that you want to stay playing. You'll have access to ALL existing expansions and your level cap will raise to to the max, FOREVER (Yes, even if your subscription ends). When your subscription ends, your account will become Preferred (a middle ground between F2P and Subscriber), with a lot of F2P restrictions lifted or lessened, again, FOREVER.

    • As a F2P player you can only have 1.000.000 credits in your inventory, every credit earned after that will go to an escrow which you can only access by paying an escrow pass via the Cartel Market (SWTOR's Microtransanctions), but there's a workaround. When you are near the million cap, find a Legacy Bank and deposit your money there. You'll still only be able to use 1.000.000 to buy things, but you'll get access to your money at any time.

    • Do not get discouraged by the 1.000.000 credit cap. You can trade TONS of things with that amount of money, even good outfit pieces. And if you want more, you can hoard all the credits you need and then subscribe for a month to make your trades, and even gain some Cartel Coins in the process.

    • Add a Security Key[www.swtor.com] to your account. It'll not only be more secure, but you will start gaining 100 Cartel Coins every month (I've taken long breaks and came back with 1000 Cartel Coins).

    • Although I encourage people to play what they want, the most played faction (at least in EU), it's Empire. So new Republic players are always welcome. Protip: You don't need to be an Imperial to enjoy the Dark Side ;)

      The End

I hope you enjoy the game and stay for a long time guys. These are exciting times for SWTOR and I hope we can get a lot of new players ː)
