Changing Anisotropic filtering setting (NVIDIA)
Right-click on your desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.

On the right side, Go to the Program Settings tab and from there select Death Stranding.

If DS is not on the list, you can add it using Add button.

Below that section, find and change Anisotropic filtering to 16x.

I was just at the same spot as your screenshot when I decided I had to try looking for a fix for those ugly textures that made the game look it was from 10 years ago, forcing anisotropic filtering really fixed it, it's crazy that the game doesn't have that by default!
It's even more noticeable when playing it in 4k, here are my screenshots: https://imgur.com/gallery/UdjjvPJ

I did it and can't complain. 2070 and all that but what works is key.

@Spoogi99I know DLSS itself does not affect AF but it seems like a lot of people's AF is set to 16x while others are getting lower AF. Before I used DLSS I still had 16x by default as much game never looked like the above screenshots and the AF workaround didn't change how my game looked.

AF not working in Radeon RX 590

@AceSim I cannot confirm this. I run Death Stranding on max settings and use DLSS 2.0 on quality mod - there is a noticeable improvement when forcing 16x Anisotropic Filtering with the NVIDIAcontrol panel. :tlkcam:
DLSS only improves Anti Aliasing but has nothing to do with Anisotropic Filtering.
