This section will outline all of the goals this walkthrough will complete. The main goal of this walkthrough is to complete the game 100% in 2 playthroughs, and complete other odds and ends not required for 100%. For the purpose of this guide, obtaining the Platinum Trophy: Golden Completed is the only requirement needed for 100%. Here are all of the objectives this walkthrough will complete.

Important Notes (403)

This is a brief summary of everything to be aware of while following this walkthrough. These all are really, really important tips and tricks to follow the guide as precisely as possible. Not following the advice in this section will result in falling behind the walkthrough.

Starting on 4/18, you must always have a Persona of the matching arcana as the Social Link you are hanging out with (except for Rank1 and Rank 10). This guarantees bonus points whenever you encounter that Social Link to max them out as soon as possible.

This guide assumes that you complete every dungeon in one day. This can be done with any difficulty. I will be playing on Normal difficulty, as I find the challenge just right. The easiest way to complete the dungeons in one day is to avoid every normal encounter and only fight Golden Hands. The hardest dungeon to do this on is the first dungeon. If this is your first playthrough, I would recommend playing the game on your own terms first, before trying to 100% this game. Its not absolutely necessary to play the game first, but it may enhance your enjoyment of the game.

If this is your first time playing this game, this guide will have minor spoilers, but no major story spoilers. You have been warned.

If you get behind on a Social Link, you can still move on and have time to max them all. However, you may miss a smaller objective on your first playthrough, but you can delay it until the second playthrough to complete the game 100%. This guide is made with the challenge to complete as much as possible with one playthrough, so if you want to follow the same challenge, you have to stay as accurate as possible with your game.

Save very very often. I recommend saving every 2 or 3 days, however I will be saving once a week while testing just in case I miss something and need to backtrack really far. Use every save slot, just in case you mess something up to backtrack.

Make sure you have lots of money saved. There are some expensive things you may need to buy, especially Personas. After the first dungeon, you should have at least 50000 Yen, and you should have an increase of at least 50000 Yen per dungeon. So 50000 Yen, then 100000 Yen, then 150000 Yen, and so on.

Most importantly, just have fun and enjoy the game, because it's really good!

Current Problems (40X)

Thank you everyone who has sent me a message letting me know about some of the problems the guide currently has. I'm currently not sure why there are some variables within the guide. What is written down is what I was able to accomplish in my test playthrough, so I know it is for sure possible to accurately follow the guide. So first I'm gonna list some tips to make sure you stay on track, then I'll list the known problems for the guide.

Tips to Stay on Track

Make sure to have backup saves in case you need to travel back a bit. If you save every 2 to 3 days in a different slot, then you can backup a whole month if needed, which can be very helpful if you get behind

Make sure you always have a Persona with the matching arcana for the Social Link you are hanging out with. There are sometimes where you can earn extra points outside of Social Links, so here is the priority of Personas to always have:

• Party Member arcanas
  
• Justice
  
• Hierophant
  
• School arcanas
  
• Job arcanas
  
• Other arcanas

Try to get the exact same amount of points, or more for each Status Parameter/Social Link that I get, to stay as close as possible, or maybe even get ahead a little

Known Problems

On June 15th, someone couldn't rank up with Justice. If this happens, see if you can get the relationship will become closer soon message on June 2nd. If not, then find a way to earn more points to rank up, probably replace a book with hanging out.

On September 4th, some people can't rank up Hierophant. If so, see if you can get the relationship will become closer soon message on August 22nd. If you can't, then find a time to earn more points so you can rank up, such as replacing reading a book with hanging out with Heirophant. I also heard about some problems with Hierophant later in September, but I don't think its a problem(?).

On October 21st, the Moon S.Link has a romance option. However, the romance option for Moon works differently than it does for the other girls. This has ended up confusing a lot of readers. Without spoiling what happens in the S.Link, the options that are written down for Moon are correct, even if it doesn't seem like it at first.

Also, nobody has had this problem yet, but I neglected to mention that make sure you have lots of money after each dungeon. I updated the important notes to include how much money you should have.

You frequently will be able to respond to a character by choosing a response to give. Normally during the story these responses don't matter. There are some exceptions, and I will be sure to take note of them.

-Exploration-

You are given a chance to look around the immediate area next to the gas station. While there isn't anything important to do, you can find some characters you will see later in the game. IMPORTANT!!!: There is also a blue butterfly to save your game. Make sure to save often! (WAQ1: Why do I need to save frequently?)

If you check the fridge, you will find some Fried Rice. Feel free to eat it, but nothing will happen. There will be a new food item in the fridge every Monday. Some food items will greatly increase your Courage. which is a Status Parameter. IMPORTANT!!!: If I don't mention a food item on Monday, don't look in the fridge! Sometimes we will save the food for a different day, because it may take time. So be mindful of when to check the fridge!

-Futon-

Here you can sleep to pass time. If you sleep in the futon any day but today, you will dream about a Social Link and earn bonus points toward it. However, we will never be making use of this. The futon gets no love from us.

Yosuke gives you 5000 yen. Save all of it and don't buy anything. Money is a scarce resource in the early game, and plentiful late game. Right now any equipment you buy have minimal increases in stats, and there are ways to get good equipment without buying it.

-Vending Machine-

In the Shopping District North, you can buy soda from the vending machines. TaP Soda costs 120 yen, and it restores 10 SP, which is hard to come by. You can buy 5 a week, and it restocks on Monday. I would recommend investing in these, especially if you find yourself having trouble with saving SP. Unfortunately, they are sold out today.

TV World

Obtained 3 Revival Beads, 5 Peach Seeds, and 5 Soul Drops
IMPORTANT!!!: A quest later in the game requires a Peach Seed. Keep one on hand to fulfill this quest.

-Shuffle Time-

Shuffle Time is one of 2 ways to obtain Personas. Shuffle Time is obtained by exploiting enemy weaknesses, using All-Out Attacks, and finishing the battle quickly. If there are no Personas to collect, your priority should be something close to this: Sweep Bonus, Magician, Temperance, Hermit, Emperor. Getting a Sweep Bonus guarantees Shuffle Time next battle, gives you 3 picks instead of one, and gets rid of cards with negative effects.

-Required Personas-

IMPORTANT!!!: Before the boss, you should make sure you have a Magician and a Strength Persona, or have a way to fuse them. It can be hard to get a Strength Persona, so I would be at Lv 5 to fuse it. (WAQ3: Why do I need specific Personas?)

Walkthrough FAQ (402)

This section will address any and all questions that may arise while reading the walkthrough. This can either be read all at once before the walkthrough or referred to during the walkthrough by using the search codes. If you have a question that isn't in this FAQ, check the other FAQ at the bottom of this guide for help.

WAQ1: Why do I need to save frequently?
In order to follow this guide accurately, you may need to reload a save if you make a mistake, or don't get a stat increase you want. As such, you will want to manage your save files to save headaches. I recommend saving every 2 or 3 days, saving in a separate save slot every time. Trust me, despite my formidable knowledge on this game, I still make mistakes all the time, and managing saves really helps out from having to restart the game.

WAQ2: What are Status Parameters?
You have 5 Status Parameters that increase for specific actions you take: Courage, Diligence, Knowledge, Expression, and Understanding. They each have 5 ranks, and are used in a variety of ways. In this guide, we will try to max these out as fast as possible, as we need certain ranks to start Social Links and part-time jobs. A normal increase is worth 3 points, and greatly increases are worth 5 points.

WAQ3: Why do I need specific Personas?
If you have a Persona in your deck that shares the same arcana as a Social Link, you will earn extra points toward that Social Link. This is a requirement to spend the least amount of time possible maxing out a Social Link. If you don't have a Persona with you, you will fall behind. Unless otherwise noted, this guide assumes you have a Persona for every rank except Rank 1 and Rank 10, as it isn't necessary to start a Social Link, or if you have enough points to max a Social Link.

WAQ4: Why is the weather important?
The biggest thing the weather affects (besides the story) is Social Links. There are only 2 Social Links (besides those available at night) that you can hang out with while it's raining. Otherwise, certain enemies can only be found during rain, and certain events can only happen or can change effects depending on the weather.

WAQ5: Why Soccer instead of Basketball?
In order to read all books in one playthrough, you have to hang out with the Strength Social Link on 3 separate Sundays to obtain 3 books. For the Basketball Club, you need to make sure to be below Rank 4 for the first book, and either below Rank 5 or above Rank 6 to get the second and third book. The Soccer Club has no restrictions on obtaining these books, which is why this guide chooses the Soccer Club.

WAQ6: How do Social Links work?
Social Links are explained in depth under Gameplay Mechanics, but I will summarize that section here. Social Links work on a point based system. Earning enough points will rank up the Social Link the next time you spend time with them. There are a total of 10 ranks per Social Link. In order to earn as many points as possible, there are 2 important strategies we use in this guide. First, we need a Persona of the same arcana as the Social Link we are hanging out with. This will give us bonus points every time we earn points. Second, while spending time with the Social Link, choosing certain responses will earn extra points. I will note these options in order as they appear. If you make a mistake you may need to reload, so don't forget to save!

WAQ7: How do you beat a dungeon in one day?
The hardest part of beating a dungeon in one day is conserving your SP. You will need to use as few magic skills as possible. The best way to do this and still gain experience is to defeat Golden Hands. They are difficult to beat but they drop a lot of Exp and Yen. In the first dungeon, the best way to beat them is by using items that deal damage, like Ball Lightnings or Smart Bombs. After the first dungeon, I recommend using Chie to increase your critical hit rate, and using physical skills to try and get an All-out Attack, because Almighty attribute does a ton of damage to them. If you can obtain a Persona with Almighty damage, that is also a good way to take them out. Try to open as many chests as possible to get HP and SP restoring items, and do your best to beat the dungeon in one day. It is possible on Very Hard mode, but Normal Mode is very manageable.

WAQ8: What is a flag?
A flag is a game mechanic where you have to complete some sort of requirement to "trigger" the flag. By triggering the flag, you essentially unlock something later in the game, typically involving the character that had the flag. In this game, flags will either unlock Social Links or extra story content.

WAQ9: What is the Victory Cry cheat?
The Victory Cry cheat and how to do it can be found in the Tips and Tricks section, but to sum it up briefly, on certain days its possible to fuse a persona with the ability Victory Cry, which heals all HP and SP after a battle. Getting this skill early eliminates all the challenge of the game, so its considered a cheat in the community.

WAQ10: Who is the Artisan Apprentice?
The Artisan Apprentice is needed to obtain the Cleaning Mop for a quest. Afterward, you can trade certain items for ones you can't normally obtain. You can find everything he trades for in the list section (whenever I actually complete it).

WAQ11: Why does Jester not need a Persona after Rank 6?
After rank 6, the Jester Social Link will rank up automatically with the story. In order for this to happen, you must be rank 6 by November 1st, otherwise it will be impossible for you to max the Social Link.

WAQ12: How do date invites work?
You can go on a date for Summer Festival, Christmas Eve, New Year Day, the Ski Trip, and Valentine's Day. The Summer Festival has 6 options: each female classmate and just you, and the rest have 7 options: each female classmate and the guys. You will always get an invite from the guys for every date, and from Rise at the Summer Festival. In order to get any other invite, you must be in an intimate relationship with them. You can save abuse to view them all, but some events have certain items not available anywhere else, which is why we pick certain ones for the walkthrough.

WAQ13: Why does it say Aeon will rank up?
This is a mandatory event you have to see before Aeon will go to Rank 6. So we are technically advancing the Social Link even though it won't rank up.

WAQ14: Reversing and breaking Social Links?
Female classmate Social Links can Reverse or sometimes even Break if you aren't careful. A Reversed Social Link means you need to go cheer them up to advance the relationship while a Broken Social Link means you have to start over from Rank 1. Certain choices in the Moon and Fortune Social Link can Reverse the Social Link, as well as two girls running into each other, which usually happens on Sunday hangouts.

WAQX1: What if I don't have enough room for Personas?
You may have to drop a Persona that you don't currently need for one you do need. If so, just drop the Persona that is cheapest to buy back. Be careful if you are dropping a Party Member, Hierophant, or Justice Persona, as you may need it in your deck for random extra points.

WAQX2: Why don't I need a Death Persona?
Because the Death Social Link is only available on Sundays and Holidays, the Social Link will always rank up. So a matching Persona isn't needed if it's just gonna rank up anyways.
