Extra Metal Blocks (custom components)

Kuvaus
This mod adds four new ores, and one new component built by each:
Bauxite Ore -> Aluminium Ingots -> Aluminium Plate
Copper Ore -> Copper Ingots -> Wire Spool
Titanium Ore -> Titanium ingots -> Titanium Alloy Plate (also requires Iron Ingots)
Tungsten Ore -> Tungsten ingots -> Tungsten Alloy Plate (also required Iron and Nickel Ingots)

There are also three new types of armour, which look like vanilla armour blocks but vary in weight and strength:
Aluminium Armour - super lightweight, very low strength
Titanium Armour - heavier than Heavy Steel Armour, high strength
Tungsten Armour - heavier again, stronger again

Bauxite and Copper can be found on planets, moons and asteroids
Titanium and Tungsten can be found on moons and asteroids
Uraninite has also been added to moons, but only in very deep zones. Platinum has been made a little rarer on moons.

The models for the ore and components are from a mod from years ago, I think it was Razortron's. They're cool :)

The Wire Spool isn't used in this mod but all items are dependencies for my rebalanced version of Razortron's Star Wars Weapons Rebalanced so I just incorporated it all.

That is definitely NOT a valid path. Is there a fix for this? How do i fix it?

> If the mod path is added twice then the problem is that the texture exists AND using a new planet generator definition style (compare EarthLike and Pertram start/end tags).
> Either modify definition to use the old style (recommended) or make it so the <Texture> tag doesn't point to an existing file while also having _cm and _alphamask prefixed ones with same name nearby.

Gotcha, Will look into doing this. Thanks for the info

Hi TP. Have a dig into the mod folder and look at the PlanetGeneratorDefinitions.sbc file, it details what resources are found where on specific planets. If you have a modded planet its version of the sbc will need to have my custom ores listed. On singleplayer worlds you should be able to just edit the file in your workshop mods folder, for DS the ores are allocated server-side so editing just the file on the DS should work. Enjoy the adventure!

Would you happen to know how I could go about adding these custom ores to the modded worlds?
jonn19  [tekijä] 31.12.2021 klo 0.27
Hi Antiquus, generally I doubt it... unless for example the planet uses custom terrain (height) maps but still pulls "materials" data from the vanilla world files. There are "planet type" files which determine which resources are found in which biomes, and I would imagine most modded planets have customised files which won't have these custom ores listed.

Hi will these ores spawn on modded worlds?

Hi Itchybit. Those factors ares based on the sum of the components, which I think it a fantastic design feature. Feel free to republish with adjusted component costs, but be aware that weight and strength always have a direct relationship... the stronger the block is, the heavier it is.

Is there any way for me to adjust the strength and weight values of the new armour blocks? If so, how would I do that?

I think aluminum is too undervalued.
And it would be cool if the material could be used not only for armor (but for the game, alas)
