Subnautica: Below Zero 100% Achievement Guide

This guide will give an accurate description of the achievements as well as some general advice on how to get them. One of the great things about Subnautica is the exploration, so I will give some pointers to locations but no maps or coordinates. Due to the nature of this games achievements there will be spoilers, so read at your own caution.

Introduction

Welcome to this Subnautica: Below Zero 100% achievement guide.

The goal of this guide is to provide an accurate description of all achievements in this game as well as strategies to achieve each one.

Note: This guide will be updated as the achievements for this game have just been released. More detailed and accurate info will be added.

General Achievements

These achievements mainly involve crafting.

Drop in the Ocean
Locate your Drop Pod.
Make your way to the Drop Pod symbol in the ocean, as soon as you enter it, this achievement will pop.

Truckin'
Construct a Seatruck.
The fragments are located in the Twisty Bridges biome, the trench between the shallow Twisty Bridge and the Deep Twisty Bridges. Watch out for brute sharks!

Like Riding a Bike
Ride a Snowfox.
I found the Snowfox fragments for the blueprint scattered around the Phi Research site, mainly along the path(s) to the excavation site and along the frozen river. You'll first have to craft the Snowfox Hoverpad, then the Snowfox. Once you hop on the achievement will pop.

Spy Pengling
Construct a spy pengling.
The fragment you need to scan for the blueprint is in the Phi Robotics Center in the Glacial Basin biome. The achievement will pop once building the spy pengling, the remote is not needed for this achievement.

Dressed For the Weather
Construct a cold suit.
The cold suit you need to scan to get the blueprint is in the Phi Robotics Center in the Glacial Basin biome. In order to get the snow stalker fur for the crafting recipe you must first construct the spy pengling (see above). This achievement popped for me once I had all 3 pieces of the suit equipped.

Jukebox Hero
Install a jukebox.
The jukebox fragment is found in an abandoned Alterra base on Delta Island, the same island that houses the Communications Tower. This achievement will pop once you construct a jukebox, no need to craft the speakers or play music using a found jukebox disc.

Story Related Achievements

These achievements are all progression necessary for the story or directly related to the story itself.

Spoilers ahead...

Necessary Repairs
Repair the bridge.
Repair the bridge in the Glacial Bay. You will need Hydraulic Fluid which can be crafted with the Fabricator from 1 creepvine seed cluster and 4 gel sacks. I got my gel sacks from the Deep Twisty Bridges, but they can also be found in the Lilypad Islands and the Deep Purple Vents. The creepvine seed clusters are in the Arctic Kelp Forests which are all throughout the starting Shallow Twisty Bridges as well as many other areas in the map. The bridge is approximately Southwest of the starting Drop Pod.

Xenobiology
Encounter a sapient alien lifeform.
You must find Alien Sanctuary Site in the Twisty Bridges biome. Look for precursor alien technology that is flashing morse code with green light and follow it into a small cave system. This will bring you to the Architect building. Start the download sequence in the storage cubes chamber and this achievement should pop.

Another Survivor
Find Marguerit's home.
The easiest way to find her base is to go to the Tree Spires biome by going past Delta Island, keeping it on your right, you will pass a sunken ship on your left. When you come to a large Ventgarden go into the crack by its tentacles. From there turn back the direction of Delta Island, you will pass tree spire in a cave very reminiscent of the giant tree cove from the first game. Take the tunnel past it on the right and Marguerit's base will be up on top of a rock shelf. I actually drowned outside her base the first time I found it and the achievement still popped as I respawned.

Pirate Radio
Disable Alterra communications.
You must go to Delta Island and encounter Marguerit. After going to her base (see above), you will need to construct the Test Override Module. For that you need to learn how to make the Parallel Processing Unit. The fragments for that can be found in a crashed ship called the Mercury, although it lies on the seafloor in three main pieces. The bow wreck is in the Lilypad Islands, I actually found 2 fragments here. The stern wreck is at the edge of the Purple Vents, just before the tree spires, along the same path to Marguerit's base. I didn't end up having to go the the detached thruster, but it is on the edge of a large crevice between the Purple Vents and the Lilypad Islands. All the pieces of the ship are in a line so once you find two the third will be easy to find. Now that you can make the Parallel Processing Unit you can craft the Test Override Module. Back at the Communication Tower you must insert the Test Override Module up the stairs, then go back to the terminal and select [Enter Test Mode] and the achievement will pop.

Out of Mind
Construct an alien vessel.
Al-An's vessel consists of 3 parts. There is no specific order you need to scan the components in, but you must have Al-An with you (see above). Al-An will mention sensing his peoples presence when you are approaching the right biome, and again when you're closer to the Cache to let you know you're on the right path.
The first one I found was the Architect Organs in the Crystal Caves Cache. This place is dangerous and deep, I won't spoil the denizens for you though. You will definitely need MK2 and MK3 depth modules for the Prawn suit and Seatruck respectively, so it's a late game biome. The entrance is in the Purple Vents next to the sunken thruster of the Mercury II. There are many cryptosuchus swimming above, and as you descend you should pass a huge purple vent to let you know you're on the right path.
The Architect Skeleton is in the Deep Lilypads Cave Cache. If you follow the back end of the Mercury II stern wreck to the LilyPad Islands, you'll come across a few large fallen lilypads over a large rift. Follow this as it gets deeper and it will lead you into the Deep Lilypads Cave. The Cache is at about ~620m depth, you'll know you're on the right path if you go down to an area very coated with pollen and even more cave flowers. The skeleton is at the base of the Architect fountain.
The Architect Tissue is on land in the Arctic Spires Cache. It's at the furthest back point of the Arctic Spires, down a little slope. There are a couple ways to get there, but I crossed the bridge and kept heading the opposite direction of the dock and eventually found my way to a large open field with the spires. I really recommend having a Snowfox to get this. Once you're inside the Architect Cache, the scannable alien is crushed in a pile of rock with just a hand sticking out.
Now that you have all the blueprints you need to make your way to the Fabricator Base in the Fabricator Caverns. The only way to get there is through the Crystal Caves. As you go further and deeper, you'll start to see large red columnar crystals instead of the blue ones. This is the Fabricator Caverns; the base is at ~950m, tucked into the bottom of a large, floor-to-ceiling, crystal protrusion. It's easy to pass, but the cave ends here. If you reach the end and it circles you back around to the other wall of the caves, you're in the right place. Once you craft the 3 pieces of Al-An's vessel and transfer his consciousness there will be a short cutscene, and the achievement will pop.

Finding the Cure
Use the antidote.
Sam's sister hid the antidote in a cave only accessible with the spy pengling in the Glacial Basin. Start by heading to the Phi Research Facility. From there take the frozen river until you see some bones on the left, turn and take the high road on the right. This is pretty much a straight shot to the cave. Once you see a little circular area of water on your right with some pengwings nearby, you've found the right area. There will be an Alterra device right outside the entrance. Once you've retrieved the antidote, return to the frozen leviathan. Insert the antidote into the robot by the leviathan's head, and press [Begin Injection] on the console. As you watch the Kharaa pustules fade away this achievement will pop.

Into the Unknown
Leave 4546b.
After building his vessel, Al-An will tell you to meet him at the Architect Gate Base near Outpost Zero. Once you enter the gate Al-An will have a task for you and there will be a bit of dialogue. After you complete this, there will be a cutscene and at the end the achievement will pop.

Known bugs:
It seems as though there was a bug where if you started a new game after getting some achievements in another save file, then went to the lifepod, the 'Into the unknown' achievement popped. This bug was fixed, but allowed some people to obtain it ahead of time other than the usual .01% from SAM users. I figured I would add this info for the die hard achievement hunters to clear up any confusion about achievements earned too early.

It does not disable the achievements

Does pressing F1 disable achievements? Like just Viewing coordinates? I'm not talking about cheats or console commands or menus. I'm talking JUST about F1. Pressing it to view info, and then pressing it to close it. Not Shift + Enter, not F3. For some reason the internet has trouble with this answer.
