1.0 Introduction
Definition:
Here is what Valve Developer Community says about viewmodel:
A viewmodel is a specially-designed model used to represent the player's active weapon in first-person view (as opposed to the ordinary "worldmodels" used elsewhere).

My viewmodel settings aim at using the lesast amount of screenspace, while still giving feedback on accuracy.

ATTENTION:
This guide contains no "how to" information on scripting.

2.0 Console commands

3.0 viewmodel positioning
There are 3 viewmodel presets, but they react the same way if the user moves.
The way they react is defined by the "bob" and "shift" commands listed above.
This is how it looks in action, if viewmodel_presetpos is set to 2:

These are the commands that define my preset.
viewmodel_offset_z -2
viewmodel_offset_x 2.5
viewmodel_fov 54
viewmodel_offset_y -2
cl_viewmodel_shift_left_amt 0.5
cl_viewmodel_shift_right_amt 0.25
cl_bob_lower_amt 30
cl_bobamt_lat 0.1
cl_bobamt_vert 0.1

This is how it looks in action:
