How to increase FPS in Fallout 76. If you have a good PC but you experience lags and freezes in some places there is a simple solution

Configure your video settings correctly

Try to reduce Texture Quality in video settings to MEDIUM or LOW. You may select the other settings HIGH and ULTRA because they affect perfomance not so much.

Why is that?

The reason is that the game uses incredibly enourmos size of textures that screw even the most powerful graphics cards.

If you edited Fallout76Prefs.ini previously and some problems appeared (I had light and shadows bugs) you may delete this file and the game recovers it with all default settings after launch.

and conventional fiber optic cable doesn't actually operate at the speed of light, it runs about 1/3, same as standard copper

your internet speed literally has nothing to do with how the game renders towns & fiber optic can run at any speed your isp sets so it doesn't really mean anything by itself

I have fiber optic and 0 lag, it loads as soon I reach every town and I'm using everything on ultra.

You could also simply go to your inis and reduce the Ugrindsloads to 3

or just "changing worlds" will be smooth as butter.

sometimes the server starts smooth, but then you can sense it starts getting chunkier when those youngster join the server with their glitched up overly compensating large houses.

you could also be lagging.

simply from the server.

absolutely nothing to do with your ini.

some days, lag like grass mulch..
other times, same city and smooth as butter..
it's the server.
