Essential Crafting for everyone
As a baseline Submariner, you MUST remember these, or you will run out of money really fast. Ships without Deconstructor are strongly discouraged to use in Campaign for this very reason.

  • I dont think i have to yap about the importance of Ammo/ Fuels.
  • Storage Container is GOD tier item, letting you carry 12 medium-sized items with one slot, and CAN be stored in lockers. It can even contain Oxygen tanks, Scooters, smaller guns, Ores, Materials, Medicines, Alien loots, etc. your storage lockers should be ideally filled with these.
  • Harpoon is for Harpoon gun. it is super cheap, can be used underwater, and packs some punch enough to deal with nasties up to Mudraptors. anything larger than that, or group of them, should be dealt with combination of other items like stuns/ poisons/ steroids. Recommended to carry in form of loaded Spear guns, as it cannot be stored in Toolbelts.

Checklist for Voyage to The Deep
Protip: As far as i tested on Singleplayer mode, Enemies will NOT spawn until you undock, NOR straying from sub too far away (>200m). You should Repair, Restock, Gather, Sort bunch of stuff at this paticualr moment, and just get back to the map screen when done to save the progress.

The amount below is vastly on the safe side that assuming you will go through 15 or more missions, without being able to access appropriate shops. if you are just scratching surface, you could do with whole lot less.

Things you should buy at Mining:

Steel (100) for pretty much everything. if you have tons of money jsut buy 100 more.
Phosphorus and Sodium (100 of each) For UEX to make Explosive ammo on everything
Uranium(100) For fuel and Nuclear Shell
Sillicon and Carbon (50) For Plastics
Aluminium (50) For Oxygen cans, extra ammo cans, and Compound N
Titanium (20) for Ballistic fiber / Piercing shells if your coilgun has more than 1 loaders for each
Potassium(30) For Compound N
Thorium if you are richboi

Things you should buy at Reserch:

Opium (100) for all your Internal Damage needs
Broad-spectrum Antibiotics (50) for Calyxanide (keep some to administer simultaneously)
Stabilozine (50) for bunch of drug mixing
Sulphuric Acid (50) For Compound N

Things you should buy at Military:

UEX and C-4, If you are richboi
SMG, Riot Shotgun, and their ammo, if your ship lack some personnel defence capability

Yeah, it's obvious. However, it's a useful guide. Reverse crafting or, "what can i craft with this" guides don't really exist.

For noobs it's good to know what materials to hoard early.

An old guide can still be near the top of Steam recommendations or search hits.
Thanks for your work.

in case it wasn't obvious, i stopped updating this list a WHILE ago, long before i lost interest in Barotrauma entirely for a while. Surprised someone still is reading it. Might come back onto it one day soonTM.

Just a small addition: Alien Blood + Lithium = Pulse Laser Ammo.
- needs Al for new crate, or re-use your empty ammo crate.

If you use the Pulse Laser(s) a lot, Alien Blood is good loot.

Thx for the guide

Mostly updated. Mostly. the price is where the pain is coming from though.
Ake-tits  [author] 27 Feb, 2021 @ 4:32am
not anytime soon, as they are fucking with the game way too many times, and constantly changing variables. I am not dedicated enough to go through all XML files, as the crafting data is scattered everywhere, rather than just a list that you can just copypasta from.

update?
Ake-tits  [author] 3 May, 2020 @ 8:35pm
yeah, i would - barotrauma's veterans looks either very lazy or secretive about these kind of stuff. just take a glance at wiki, it's quite unfinished.
Pasza 3 May, 2020 @ 8:33am
Hey man thanks a lot for all the tips - with your comments you could create separate guide.
Ake-tits  [author] 27 Apr, 2020 @ 8:32pm
Tips for singleplayer bots:

1. reroll campaign until you get Mechanic with very high(85+) initiative. Captain and Engineer's initiative won't matter. mechanic is ordered to repair devices, engineer for reactor, and you as captain, doing things as needs arise(ship manuever, ordering to man coilgun, fixing hull, manning gun yourself, etc)

2.next two crew you hire should be Security. they starts out with high weapons skill so they handle guns better. keep them stationed at coilguns, and NEVER EVER let them touch the railguns. Train them by making UEX/C4. The first one will be your "main character" whenever you go outside, so kit them out with best shit. i recommend 3 toolbox (1 trauma kit, 1 SCUBA pack, 1 lootbox), 3 weapons, and 4 "free slots" setup.

3. third one can be medic. bot medic is currently very jumpy, so keep them as gunner aswell, and only unleash when needed.
